TAKEN thirty nine
The air was tense! Luckily Allen and Flora had left for work before Marcus arrived. Stella's anger didn't subside since he left her yesterday, but what Marcus welcomed her worsen the whole mood in the house. It weaken Stella's knees.
"Mum, please I know nothing about this. What is Marcus saying"Stella tried playing on the safe side as she looked up to Marcus mother for support. She really didn't know how to handle this situation. She has been caught. She really has!
"Mum? I'm not your mum Stella. Never was. Now if you still want to stay in this house. Tell my son who you've been with"Bella spat. She didn't know how her son found out about what she had seen that night at the club, but somehow she needed to play on her son's side. She wouldn't let a woman cheat on him She was a victim of that. She wouldn't allow this one.
Marcus turned to his mother. He wasn't expecting that kind of reply from his mum. She talked like she knew something about this, she talked like Stella was really cheating. Wait both mum and Jenifer knew about this? This mustn't be true. He failed to believe everyone. He just wants to hear the truth from his wife. It was Stella. She would never cheat on him. He loved her! She loved him too!
"Tell me Stella! Is this true!"his rage grew, he slowly walked towards her. Her body was shaking. He just wanted her to say it was not true. Say something Stella. Prove me wrong!. When he got very close to her. She fell on the floor and fainted.

He watched her sleep on the bed after the doctor had left. His mum was also quiet as they stared at her. He turned to his mum and hold her hands. He was about to break down in tears. But he was controlling himself, trying to be strong.
"What did you mean the other time mum?"he asked her.
Bella swallowed and frown a bit. She didn't know whether to tell him what she saw that time or she should keep it to herself. She didn't want a woman like that to continue living in this house. She knew how cheating changed her family life story and she wouldn't condole any other thing like that.
"Your wife..I think she's cheating on you. I don't know how true this is, but I definitely saw her in a club some months ago with another man. They were...intense."
Marcus was dumbfounded at the news. Some months ago. Another man. Not Allen his brother like Jenifer had told him?. Is mum trying to cover up for Allen. Is this like a twist and are they trying to put him in the middle. He didn't know what to say ur how to react.
Now his wife was pregnant. His greatest wish came to pass. He would have a baby! He just didn't know if it was his. There are two mouthpiece testifying to Stella's cheating. How is he certain this was his baby.
And Allen?
How could he! If whatever Jenifer said she found out on the day of dad's burial was true? Then he would definitely destroy Allen into ashes. He took his hospitality for granted. Like a patient, whose time is limited and would make sure he gets every bit and taste of what was in the hospital. But he got the wrong guy. If any of this things trace back to Allen. Then it was about to get bloody.
He didn't take him long before he picked up his phone and dialed his brother's number. He left the room and waited for Allen to pick up.

"Hello brother"Allen answered the phone laughing hysterically as he demonstrate to Flora to keep shut. "I'm just on a date with Flora. Is everything okay?"he asked Marcus whose tone seemed quite cold.
"What?!" his countenance change immediately "No. I mean that's good news Marcus. A lot to celebrate. Yes I'm happy for you. Okay. I'll be home soon."he ended up the call and slowly drop his phone on the table. Flora could notice his sudden mood swing. Their date has been going well and all of a sudden a call from his brother...
"Seems like good news, why are you worried then?"she asked. Allen tried to smile in return but it clearly didn't work out. One could see the tension all over his face.
"Actually...Erhm. Stella is pregnant" he announced.
The silence between them both was deafening, Flora could now understand the tension Allen felt immediately he heard that news. He had all right to be worried. The few thing she knew about him and Stella was enough to get him damn worried. To worsen his tension today, their date was all about him expressing his feelings to her and it was all going well, till this call entered.
"Are you worried it's you?" She soberly asked. She didn't mean to be too direct, but presently she had to. There was a lot they needed to figure out before they get home and face Marcus.
Allen's brain freeze at Flora's question. He had that running through his mind too. Could it be that it was true. He was definitely at fault looking at all he has been through with Stella. The constant sex was something to write about. He couldn't recall ever using protection but he did remember pulling out. His pull out game was a thing to be proud of. But every cell in him doubted Stella's pregnancy. He suspected he had a connection with it. He was nervous. He didn't know what to do. How to react when he got home. And now Flora was here too. He had clearly told her his feelings at work today, she didn't give him a reply but he wanted her to think about it, he couldn't get rid of what they had together and whatever likeness he had for her before was triggered by this morning moment. He wanted a life with her, he wanted her to way off his attraction from Stella. He was too distracted and had failed his brother in ways he could not defend. He just didn't know if Stella's pregnancy was the beginning of his doom.
Flora holds Allen's hand. "It's gonna be fine. Let's just go home" she said. She really hoped Marcus doesn't question Allen at home about his wife. There was going to be a huge rift if that was the case. They both stand up from the table, although their date started well but Marcus news didn't end it well. Who would know that a good news is a weakening news. Only those affected would understand.
She put her arms into his as they walk out of the restaurant. She didn't expect who she saw at Allen's car waiting.
