Elizabeth stood by the mirror straightening her hair as she kept glaring scornfully at Edde's reflection on the mirror, he was so focused on his phone that he didn't even care to check out the outfit he made her wear or just look at her for once at least, she felt invisible "I'm sure he is texting or sexting his lover, he never paid attention to me this much" she thought and hissed loudly hoping Edde would hear her loud hiss and look up at her and at least inquire what bothered her but no, he seemed not to have heard her hiss.
"Edde please dress up you're coming with me" Elizabeth said now turning to him with her hands placed firmly on her waist.
"I can't come with you, antenatal is for women and not for couples" at least he agrees that we are a couple, Elizabeth thought, rolling her eyes heavenward.
"I don't care who it is meant for, remember I told you that if you don't come with me Amma call your dad so. You're coming with me" she woofed as Edde sighed sitting up.
"Elizabeth, please understand that.."
"Are you expecting anyone or something?" She asked, raising her left brows as Edde scoffed, shrugging his shoulders.
"NO!" he stressed "why would you think that? I will be going to work soon so I just want to have a little rest before it's time" he replied as Elizabeth smirked in amazement, how on Earth does he lie so good that I almost believe him!
"Whatever, suit yourself and do well to pick me when the time is right, I should be done by 3pm" Elizabeth said, grabbing her bag and heading out of the room still pissed off by Edde's truthful lies.
She sighted Edde's chauffeur standing by the car and holding on the door knob waiting for her, she was surprised on seeing a chauffeur because she never saw one around and didn't know that Edde had a chauffeur in London she only knew the one in New York, she had thought she would be booking an Uber.
"Hello ma'am, good afternoon" the man greeted politely as Elizabeth smiled at him.
"Hi…" She said plainly with her eyes fixed on the luxurious car in front of her, a fucking Benz taking her to the fucking hospital? Why!? That's fucking too much! Her head screamed.
"Uhm, there are lots of cars here, why did you choose the Benz?" Elizabeth asked curiously as her eyes fixed on the jet black car, she couldn't afford being the eyes of everyone at the hospital when Edde wasn't with her. She would miss her steps in embarrassment.
"I just thought it would be more classy for you" The man replied, lowering his gaze, scared that he might lose his job.
"Oh no! I'm fucking going to the hospital and not some Vogue award show! Just get a simple car please" Elizabeth said and sighed checking the time on her phone "hurry up" she added as the man nodded and entered the car driving it back into the garage and driving back out with a simple Toyota Corolla making Elizabeth relieved that there was such a car in the garage.
Taking a deep breath she walked into the hospital building as thoughts of how antenatal care session is, all the pregnancy issues were already getting on her nerves.
Looking down at her belly she sighed deeply, shaking her head. Her belly wasn't as flat as it used to be before she was almost in the second month of her pregnancy and her belly was already creating a bump. Soon her belly would be big enough to show that she is pregnant.
"Would I be able to leave the house when my belly gets bigger? I'm fucking gonna be nervous because I am still young!" She muttered to herself as she walked into the lobby.
"Hi Mrs Loxley" A masculine voice called from the corner as she turned to see her appointed doctor standing by an entrance and smiling genuinely at her.
"Hello doc…" Elizabeth greeted and flushed a short smile.
"Come with me" he said walking into an entrance that led to another lobby as they entered an office where his name DOCTOR ALEC was engraved boldly above to show his ownership of the office.
"So how is the future mom doing?" He asked, sitting on his swivel chair as Elizabeth sat on the chair facing him as she cleared her throat awkwardly because of his question, holding firmly to her bag.
"Well, I am fine" she answered plainly as the doctor stared at her speechlessly for a couple of seconds smiling at her.
"So Mrs Loxley, let's talk about you and the baby" the doctor said as she sat up clearing her throat nervously "but first I will run a test on you just to check the condition of the baby and also the gender" He added in a cheerful smile.
"Uhm, please can you do the test tomorrow? I really want my husband to see the baby with me" She said and beamed a fake smile.
"Oh yes that's important, tomorrow for the test then… So for a start I would like to know how you have been feeling, I mean is the pregnancy causing you discomfort or do you feel so good and comfortable?" The doctor asked as Elizabeth twitched her lips thinking through her experience as a pregnant young girl.
"I really haven't felt any discomfort of any kind yet not even the cravings people talk about, and also I don't feel comfortable completely" she explained as the doctor jotted some notes down and raised his eyes back to her.
"All pregnant women have different symptoms and even if you haven't started getting symptoms of the baby it will surely come soon, you just have to learn to control yourself because Pregnancy mood swings can possibly make you kill someone if you're not in control of yourself… And many other symptoms you might feel, but don't panic or feel crazy when it comes" he advised as I nodded.
Soon the doctor was done talking to me, the antenatal session ended faster than I imagined and the doctor explained that it was because it's my first day.
I trailed through the lobby out of the hospital building as I checked my phone time to see that I only spent an hour in the hospital, I clicked on my contact list about to dial Edde's line but I held myself back "I really need to catch him in the act so that he wouldn't deny".
"Hello ma'am you're through already, that was so fast" the chauffeur said hurrying towards Elizabeth as he took her bag leading her to the car "when will I fucking get used to this treatment!" Her head screamed as she entered the car.
Driving back home Elizabeth's eyes caught a mall which passed by the speed drive of the chauffeur, she thought of telling him to drive back to the mall so that she can purchase some of the fruits the doctor suggested for and her unborn child but, she waved it off she was eager to catch Edde cheating or doing something with another woman.
She sighed deeply biting her lips hard knowing that even if she sees Edde with his lover she wouldn't still do nothing to him other than reporting to his dad and that would be dumb as fuck.
"Please can you speed up a little?" She asked as the chauffeur nodded and increased his speed.
Soon they got back to the mansion as the chauffeur parked in front of the car and made to come down "Never mind I will open the door myself, just go pack the car" Elizabeth said in a smile as she made a move to step out of the car but stopped and turned back to the chauffeur.
"Any problem ma'am?"
"Can you help me get something at the mall downtown?" Elizabeth asked as the man nodded quickly in a smile "Okay that's nice…" She said as she brought out a pen from her bag "can I get a piece of paper from you?" She asked as the man searched his pockets and scribbled out a piece of paper.
"Here ma'am"
Elizabeth wrote down the fruits the doctor suggested for her and handed the paper back to him.
"Get all the fruits you see there, buy lots of them because I will store them in the fridge so I won't have to run out of fruits quickly… And here is the cash for it" she said handing him some dollar notes "I will be waiting" she said and came down from the car.
She walked tiredly towards the entrance of the house "she should surely be here by now, she can't possibly have gone because this is just 1:30pm it's still early" she mumbled pushing the door opened and tip toeing up the stairs, she thanked her stars that the guards weren't in sight to find her awkward with the way she tiptoed.
Standing in front of their room door she leaned her ear closer hopefully she hears some moans or groans of any kind "Dear Lord I'm dumb! How could I forget that this is a soundproof door?" She cursed in whispers as she hissed slowly opening the door.
She peeped her head in clumsily as her eyes caught Edde…
"What's going on?"
