"Welcome back Kimberly," we all said to Kimberly when I brought her home from the hospital, she has just been discharged from the hospital after two weeks of staying there.
"Mummy... Mummy..." Alex and Sandra screaming filled with so much excitement when they both saw their mum.
I can see the excitement in Kimberly's face as she hugged her kids and the excitement in her friend's face and Brain and Belinda's too, I invited them to the welcome party we organised for Kimberly.
I am feeling very relieved that Kimberly is safe and back to us not without complications, Doctor Sam only said she still needs to take proper rest and her medications too, she can also come back to the hospital for a few checkups and that is all, she is good to go.
Having my kids and Kimberly with me gave me so much joy and comfort even though we have not talked much about our relationship, I mean, I and Kimberly and we still have not come to a decision yet, though not me but Kimberly and I do not want to push it, seeing and having her here with me like this seems enough for me.
Kimberly also did not agree to come with me to my house in the first place as she wanted to go back to her house but with Vicky and Jimmy's help she was able to come here and I am so glad she did, that way she can be properly looked after and protected too because we are still very cautious with Sonia and her threat.
She has not shown up or tried anything stupid after the day I attempted to get her arrested but I still did not let my guard down knowing she may strike at any time especially when she thinks that I have forgotten about it, I think, but she is mistaken because I am not going to relax not until I have succeeded in taking my family abroad away to safety.
I am only waiting for Kimberly's approval and I have been very careful not to push her but rather take things slow, this was Jimmy and Vicky's idea that I should approach her carefully and they were right if not because of her safety and that of Alex and Sandra, I think Kimberly would have gone back to her house already.
"Thank you, everyone, thank you for this, I really appreciate it," Kimberly said after releasing Alex and Sandra from her embrace.
"Uuhh, look at you, girl," Vicky said moving closer to hug Kimberly too, who is seated in a wheelchair because she is not so strong to stand on her feet yet.
"I am so happy to have you back..." Vicky said again giggling as she speaks, I guess she missed Kimberly so much, "and please do not thank us because we did not do much, it was all Kyle's doing, he wanted us to throw you a welcome party," Vicky added pointing at me, I think I saw a little smile at the corner of Kimberly's lip or maybe not.
"Yes Kim, Vicky is right, you needed to see Kyle when you were at the hospital I mean, this man here went crazy," Jimmy told her still pointing at me and making a silly face almost like he was teasing me.
"Enough about me, guys, this is not about me, it is about Kimberly, we are here to celebrate her and speaking of that, I think the person who went crazier is Vicky," I told everyone pointing at Vicky, "my goodness Kimberly, you needed to see your friend she was on my neck every opportunity she gets," I said turning to Kimberly... who smiles at her friend Vicky, I guess they must have talked about it...
"Now that is enough talking, everyone, let us give it up for Kimberly," I said again pointing at her, the love of my life.
Everyone giggled and clapped followed by laughter after my little speech.
"Alright, I think it is time to start the party proper," Belinda said bringing out the food she and Vicky had Prepared for the party.
"Okay," Jimmy and Brian echo, almost at the same time, bringing out the drinks too.
I stared from one corner of the living room to the other feeling like this is one sweet dream I do not want to wake up from, the only thing missing is I and Kimberly being happily married and my parents too being present at this party especially my mum, I know how she has always talked about my wedding and the family I will have, me and Brian inclusive.
"What are you thinking about, Kyle, come on," Belinda said drawing me out of my thought.
"He is thinking about his wedding with Kimberly of course," Jimmy suddenly said almost like he is reading my thoughts.
"Is that the truth, Kyle?" Brian asked jokingly winking an eye at me.
"Oh stop it, guys," I said because of the way Kimberley looked at me, the last thing I wanted is to ruin this party for her or for them to bore her with these silly talks and silly jokes.
I looked around my living room with all the cheerfulness and happiness going on right now, this is truly a sight to behold and I wish it could go on like this forever.
Lost in my sweet thoughts, all of a sudden an intruder walks in changing the atmosphere of the party...
