“Wow! You are such a good actor. Just take your filthy hands off me!”
“Sheila, I'm not acting, I truly care. So what happened to you?” he asks again and I laugh in frustration as I wipe away my tears “Haha… you must be crazy if you think that I am going to tell you anything” I look at his sorry face and I'm just mad. “Do you want to know what happened to me?” I glare at him with wrath, so much wrath that he can sense it.
“Baby, I'm going back for business and I don't know when but I will come back for you” I sarcastically imitate his voice reminding him of his words “And a few hours later, the same dude was announcing his finances, — another woman to the world. You could help, eh? Or even wait for a few days for me to get used to your absence before stabbing me in my back?” tears helplessly rush down my eyes but I immediately wipe them off before they can reach my cheeks.
“I know you won't believe me, but I had no idea…” he says. “Of course, I don't believe you so spare me all the lies. I can still remember how nervous you were when you were parking out and I can still remember that you planned to sneak out of my life without informing me. Luckily I got you on time. Yet you looked me in the face and lied. Why didn't you just tell me that you were going to see the woman of your life? You know what? We are done! Just get the hell out of here and never come back” I scowl.
“Sheila, I can't leave unless I'm sure that, that is what you want and not anger speaking,” he says confidently as usual. “Are you okay? If I want what?... Go back to your rich, classic and sexy finance. Leave before you cause me a second heart attack” I scowl.
“Baby, listen to me!” he says. “Leave!” I yell then I turn my back on him facing the other side of the room with tears rolling down my cheeks. “Okay fine, I will step out and wait until you are ready to discuss with me,” he says but I say nothing. I can't speak if not he will feel the cry in my voice and I don't want to give him that pleasure.
Natasha immediately walks back in as she sees him stepping out. She finds me crying “Hey, baby!” she seats near me and I wipe my tears before facing her. “He’s such a… I don't even know what to say. I hope he left” I say. “Girl, I don't think he's going to leave anytime soon. He’s quietly seated out there” Nat says. “He won't stay for long. That rich kid adores comfort!” I exclaim.
“He handed me my bag and my phone has been ringing. I was on phone with Graham, he’s coming over with some food and he told me, Freddy, called him to buy a flight ticket to Denver, -- strange. So what did you, people discuss?” she asks me with curiosity.
“Nothing. I don't want to listen to his lies. I'm tired, I want him out of my life once and forever” I whimper. “Sheila, you love me so much, right?” she glares. I nod my head. “Then, just listen to him and after that, you will be able to make a good decision with no regrets. I hate him but no matter what you decide I will always be there for you” she says.
“What if he lies? I don't want to be his fool anymore” I blink my eyes with slight confusion. “Your heart will tell you” she answers. “Nat cut me that motivational quote crap, hahaha… why did my heart not tell me that he was going to see his fiancee” I pout with laughter. “Hahaha, that was different. Whatever, I'm trying to motivate you and you ain't helping. I truly, read it only but who knows, maybe your heart can tell” she says.
“He’s such a good liar and the truth is that I don't want to talk to him because I'm scared that I might fall for it. He came in and help my arms and my entire body was on the fire. How on earth do you expect me to stay rational when his around me, — when my body and soul still want him?”
“Nothing good comes easily, remember. Or don't you want to know the truth? Because I seriously want to understand how on earth he left here and then a few minutes later he got engaged. Hmmm, that is the greed of the first order!” she scowls. “Exactly my thoughts. I won't ask him for anything when he has everything figured out”
“Sheila…” Natasha pulls my name, “Okay, you do as you wish” she added. “Thank, you for everything, Nat. Also, I need to apologize for earlier. If you weren't there, I…” I say but she cuts me off “It's fine,” she says.
“It's not. I'm sorry, Nat, my baby, my sister. I love you so much, you have no idea!” I seat up in bed then I clutch her in my arms. I want to press her so tightly but I am weak. She holds me “I'm so happy!” she says. After that, I lay back in bed.
Graham later walks in with some provisions. “Thank you baby” Nat takes them. “I'm sorry about what happened. So what does the doctor says?” he asks and Natasha and I look at each other spontaneously. “Nothing, serious” we reply nervously. “Okay, then that's good!” he says.
“I will be seated out with Freddy then,” he says. “Freddy is still outside?” I ask. “Yes! Any problem?” he asks. “No, it's fine” I reply. “Okay!” he nods his head and leaves.
“Mmm... It's smelling good and I don't care how you feel, you have to eat because now you are eating for two” she says eagerly and that makes me thoughtful. “My stomach is grumbling” I smile. We take out the good and start eating.
‘Sheila, do you want your child to grow up without a father figure in his/her life? No! At least give his father a chance. We can be co-parents’ as we are eating I break through the silence “I think I will give him a chance to explain himself” I say.
“Great!” she effortlessly nods her head as she keeps eating. I skate at her. She looks up at me “What? Eat!” she says with slight confusion. “Now!” I exclaim. “Now as in right now?” she asks. “Yes, now, now!” I nod my head.
“Okay, fine!” she grabs her drink and moves out. She looks at Freddy from head to toe with so much animosity “She wants to talk, -- to you” she says. If only looks could kill people. Then she seats next to Graham and continued eating.
Freddy immediately hurries to my room.
