Natasha barges into the room and finds us kissing like nothing ever happened. Her eyes widen in shock. Immediately, I see her, I break the kiss with discomfort and act all surprised as well as saying ‘Hey, his lips mistakenly slipped on mine, girl’ with my confused looks glued at her.
She takes a deep breath and then says “You guys should put on the TV!” while she goes for the remote control and she puts on the Tv. She changes the channels then she stops and I see Erika on tv in all her splendour. I pout, — but she's very cute and elegant. Freddy looks at me while clutching my hand saying “I’m all yours!” as if it was a competition and that just annoys me.
I look at him furiously saying “That’s the problem, I don’t want to fight, — with her or any other woman and then have you as a trophy or as proof to myself that I'm more worthy than another woman. I just want you period!” I pout even more this time. “I get you and you won't fight. I won't put you in any sort of competition if that is what you think,” he says convincingly. “I hope so…” I say because I'm in love. I glare at him seriously “Freddy, are you sure we are doing the right thing?” I ask in a low tone as Natasha is in the room.
“The only thing I'm sure of is my feelings for you, — and I'm sure that I want to be with you. If you want the same thing then I think we ain't too far from it” he says. “You always have the words” I roll my eyes.
“Shhttt!” Natasha looks at us, telling us to stop whispering then she looks back at the tv. Graham later walks into the room. We are all quietly watching the Tv. “... Yes, the wedding is in two months...” Erika answers a question and we are all shocked.
“Why the precipitation,” the journalist asks. “We can wait to officialise things. Freddy and I are old friends, we always shared this attraction and now that we are together, again after all these years why waste time?” she laughs.
“Two months?” I look at Freddy furiously “When were you planning to tell me that?” I ask. He says nothing. “I knew it!” nudges off his hand as I pull my hand away. “If you want this to work you have to tell me the truth all the time. Don't retain any information from me thinking that you are saving me from pain because you ain't. I can take everything shock but not your lies and lack of trust”
“I didn't know that it would be that much important to you,” he says. “Do you know what? Why don't you return to your wife? You have spent so much time here already, and she’s there alone meanwhile you're supposed to be with her. I don't like it” I pout and he frowns.
“Is this how it's going to be? You throwing shit at me any time you misunderstand me” he asks. “Yes, and you better get used to it. More to that it's not kind of you to be here when you are supposed to be going live with her, now I'm feeling so bad for her. I'm not sure will be able to cope with this. I mean it, I need time” I say.
“You don't have to feel sorry for her, I told her that I don't want it and but she, her parents and my father went behind my back to organise it without seeking my approval. She just has what she deserves, don't be sorry for her, she is playing a game” he says.
“That doesn't make me feel better because even if what you say is true, what did she do to me? Nothing!” I say in guilt. I don't want to offend anyone. “She took me away from you, — that is enough,” he says cuddling my forehead. “Oh, my goodness, I'm a side chick, now” I whimper.
“What's the meaning of that?” he asks with confusion. “Side-chick means mistress of a married man and the main chick is the wife in question. It's a slang used by the anglophone-speaking people/section of my country. And it's something really bad”. “Oh see. Then you are my main chick and she’s the side-chick in this context,” he says and that makes me chuckle. “You ain't serious”
“Wow! That was a show!” Natasha looks at me. Just then the doctor enters the room “Miss, Sheila, as soon as the nurse does the last check-up around 4 pm you can return home” he explains. “Thank you, doctor,” I say just so that he can move out.
“So what is she suffering from?” Freddy asks. I blink my eyes at Natasha. “As I told her...” the doctor is about to speak but Natasha interrupts him and takes him out “It's fine doctor, she will discuss it with him!” she pulls the doctor out, and tells him a few things before moving back in.
We chart a little then Graham leaves with Natasha. While Freddy and I wait for the nurse who later came at 6 pm. As soon as she’s done, Freddy ordered a cab that drives us home.
The gateman opens the door and the cab packs into my compound. Freddy steps out of the cap and rushes to my side, he opens the door and carries me into his arms. “Stop treating me like an egg, I'm going to get used to it,” I say yet he still carries me into the living room, he places me on the sofa then he on the tv and puts on a tv show.
“Ain't sick no more. I'm fine!” I say. “Okay, I'm going to make dinner, just stay here, I will be right back here in a few minutes. Don't move. If you need something, just yell my name and I will get it for you” he says while glaring then he asks “Okay?”. “Yes,” I roll my eyes wearily. “Good!” he perks me on the forehead before rushing to the kitchen.
But then I yell his name “Baby! Baby” “Yes, sweetheart” he rushes back to me asking “What does the queen need?” he pauses in front of me with reverence. “A kiss” I reply while clutching his dress and pulling him closer to me, then he grabs my lips with his and kisses me passionately. “I missed you!” he whispers but then he breaks the kiss “but I have to make dinner first” he rushes back to the kitchen.

“Carol, don't you dare lie to me, where is my son?” Freddy’s dad barges into the office. “Sorry, he left the office a few hours ago, and I think he is at…” she says with her eyes glued on the screen of her laptop scouring Freddy’s schedule as if she doesn't know where he is. Then she says “He must have left the LiveTV studio by now and he should be heading back to the office”
“We both know that he wasn't there because you sure watch the LiveTV interview so where is he?” he hits the table and he asks more seriously this time. “Sorry sir, but I have no idea, he left without saying a word!” she says with a trembling voice. He glares at her ruthlessly then he leaves.
‘Freddy, I told you not to mess up with me’ he yells to himself as he moves out of Freddy’s office heading straight to his office to make a few phone calls.

He is done cooking so we are sitting on the couch eating noodles “hmm, not bad,” I say as I taste a pinch of it. I can't take more because I'm nauseated. “Are you kidding me? You haven't even tasted the food yet” he says. “It's just that, am not hungry anymore… and I'm feeling bad because you put in so much effort to make this for me” I glare at him.
“It's fine, I understand and you don't have to feel bad” he says. “So when are you living?” I ask. “I think I should leave tomorrow evening. I'm so happy that everything between us is fine, now I can resume work properly” he happily says but I'm quiet since I'm not sharing his joy.
“By tomorrow afternoon this house will be sold. We can look for something else, now and make a reservation. I want to leave knowing that you are settled and safe” he says but I'm lost in my thoughts of ‘should I tell him or should I keep it to myself?’
“…Baby, are you listening?” he slightly taps my jaw and I shudder as he snatches me out of my deepest thought “What were you saying?” I ask. “Wow! So tell me, what's the matter?”
“I don't know how to say it, I'm looking for the right words,” I say. “You don't have to, just say it as it is,” he says. “Ok!” I nod my head before taking a deep breath.
‘I'm pregnant!’ should I say it or not?
