Chapter Title: Reasons To Kill
|| XAVIER'S POV||
" WHERE IS SHE??"
" FUCKING ANSWER!! WHERE IS IRIS?"
I yelled in rage, thrashing Arthur against the piece of hard walls. Unexpectedly he didn't retaliate as if he was admitting his own guilt. From the corner of my eyes, I saw his men tensing up, ready to shoot me. But fuck..I couldn't care more.
A whole day had passed without her. After the fucking session, I thought that we were done. From the moment, my people told me that her existence was nowhere to be seen, I realized what I needed most in my life. I was no longer the president of the nation nor Xavier Gray who committed many crimes to secure his position. I became the man who only wanted the love of her life.
Arthur was oddly silent, a sharp aura coming out of his gaze. I repeated my words, angrily pushing him on the other side,
" TELL ME BEFORE I KILL YOU!!"
Arthur finally snapped out, jerking my hands off. He sneered looking deep into my eyes,
" Where the hell were you when she was dying to see you? Did you think that I held her captive? She might love you now but she is my woman as well. I will bring down the world just for her."
For the very first moment, I saw the flickering emotions in the Mafia's eyes. The man who only wanted to control or rule, looked terrible in his eyes. I knew it too well that he could never hurt Iris. A killer who would keep his woman by his side always meant something different. Unless he was in love with her, staying alive was impossible.
Holding back my emotions, my nostrils flared up to question him again,
" Where is she then? You haven't found out anything?"
Arthur's jaw clenched as he replied, an uncertainly murderous gleam coming from his eyes,
" I don't know.. Since my people can't track her.. It's possible that she is taken away by one of my enemies."
I wanted to punch his face so hard because of this. Iris didn't deserve this life. Because of him, her life was always at risk. Before I could say anything, both of us got a video call. We glanced at each other for a moment before picking up the call. Immediately a blood dripping scene flashed across the screen. Iris was tied against a chair, brutally beaten and unconscious. Blood was dripping all over her body.
My heart sank into the depth of the ocean. Arthur's roar echoed as well, dripping with anger,
" I WILL KILL YOU, AUGUSTINE!"
Augustine only laughed harder, his devilish face came in our view. My jaw clenched hard in anger. I almost forgot about this motherfucker. Two years ago, he wanted to do business in my state but I didn't allow him. At that time, he had threatened me seriously but it never came seriously in my thoughts.
My hands clasped the screen tightly, roaring as Augustine grinned at us,
" WHAT DO YOU WANT? LET HER GO!"
Augustine twisted his lips into a smirk, muttering with a hum,
" Come to my place with both of you! No guards & no guns! That's my only wish!"

" You see, you won't go out alive if you dare to hurt her again!"
Arthur said lazily, both of us stood, facing the trope of Augustine. I added it as well, narrowing my eyes at the fat man,
" And never think about doing business in this state. Capturing her isn't going to benefit you at all."
Augustine sneered at us, his gaze hardening in rage,
" You two!!!!! Do you think that you are some god?WOLF!! You did this to me...You destroyed my pub just because of this woman, remember? No one wants to fucking collaborate with me anymore. And XAVIER GREY!! Do you think that you are so innocent? You put my brother in jail even though I offered you money. How did you guys think that I would let go of your woman so easily?"
I chuckled, sneering at his face,
" Your brother raped a teenager. Did you think that I would let him go? Yes, you are right. We are no gods..We are devils."
Augustine clenched his jaw tight, appearing red in anger. After a while, Arthur asked in a cold voice, his eyes casually swiped around the armed men around Augustine,
" What do you want from us? What is the condition? Just spill it out!"
Augustine twisted his lips into a triumphant smile. He dragged a long puff from his cigarette, replied with a chuckle,
" I knew it from the beginning!! You two can't do anything in front of these women. Ah! What an item she is! Bringing the two sworn enemies together, isn't it?"
I asked with a growl, worrying about Iris and her condition,
" JUST SAY IT! WHAT DO YOU WANT??"
Augustine gave out a malicious grin, his eyes gesturing at a woman next to him. After his people received a signal from him, they went into the house and came out with Iris.
My heart squeezed tightly together to see her bruised face. Her fair skin had turned red from the beatings that she had endured. Both of us called out anxiously, attempting to go to her,
" IRIS!!"
Augustine blocked us from going, grinning as he saw through the anxiety in our eyes,
" Not so quick, guys! Do you want to know why we brought her here? It's because I want to show you what I can do to her. Only revenge can satisfy me."
Iris spoke in a cracked voice, hatred lacing out from her voice,
" You are a fucking coward! If it wasn't for Michelle, you could have never touched me. Xavier... Arthur.. Please leave! It's not worth it to die in this bastard's hands."
Arthur broke into a roar, his eyes darkening,
" What do you mean? Michelle? He handed you to them??"
Iris replied in a weak voice, her eyes snapping between us,
" Ye..Yes..He always wanted to control you..Now that..you no longer listen to him obediently, he considers me a threat. He was right there when they caught me."
Augustine yelled interrupting us, pointing his gun at us,
" ENOUGH!!! She is a piece of shit! She deserves to die in my hands! Tell me, who would like to shoot her between you two??"
I growled, clenching my fists tight,
" You..Wish..."
Arthur bickered as well, a cruel smile flashing on his lips,
" Think about after this, Augustine! Do you think that you can go out alive and live a happy life? I will pull out of your grave if something happens to Iris today."
" Then I should finish her off personally!!", another voice spoke from back. Michelle walked out of the building, carrying his own gun. Arthur's face sank to see his loyal man, standing with his enemy.
Michelle spoke leisurely, walking next to Iris who was held by three men. Raising his gun, he pointed it at Iris, talking to Arthur with a sneer,
" She should have died long back. She has bewitched you..all of you.."
Arthur roared out, the fear in his eyes appeared so evident,
" LET HER GO MICHELLE!! It's me who didn't worship you. Don't drag Iris into our grudges!! "
Michelle let out a laugh, his eyes carrying a certain madness. He spoke in a deep voice, pulling the trigger to fix the target,
" You are right, Arthur!!! I have no reason to kill her..But I have every reason to kill...."
He paused between his words intentionally, an evil smirk taking over his lips. Aiming the gun at me, he continued in a slow voice,
" Kill..him...The whole nation will put the blame on you and the empire..will be mine slowly.."
The following moment, I only heard the sound of gunshot and Iris screaming out pathetically.....
