CHAPTER 66: Kidnapped
|| ARTHUR's POV ||
" Are you seriously marrying that bitch?"
Michelle, my mentor shouted at me, his eyes holding a murderous gleam. I gave him a silent stare, lightening up another cigarette lazily. I couldn't understand why he bothered to show up here. He was assigned to do tasks abroad. If my grandfather didn't ask me to spare his life, he would have been long dead.
Michelle was a good man except for his busybody character. It seemed like he had objections to every single command that I gave. I turned to speak to him,
" Yes! It has long been decided. You should be happy since It was decided by my grandfather."
Michelle clenched his jaw hard, huffing arrogantly,
" She is a bitch. Even after she has fucked Xavier Gray, how can you marry that dumb ass? She is a slut and will suck your blood."
I lost control of my temper. With a swift movement, I grabbed onto his collar, stressing my words out hatefully,
" CAREFUL, Michelle!! She is your future lady. Next time, you call her 'slut', I will have your tongue for that."
Michelle's mouth fell open in disbelief. He looked shocked and flabbergasted. Taking a glance at my hands on his collar, he stammered in rage, his eyes hardening,
" You...You are raising your hands on me..for that bitch? Seriously... Arthur...You..you are threatening me because of her??"
Michelle had always been proud of his position. He thought that his position was the same as my grandfather's as he could boss me around as much as he wished. I growled back at him, unlocking my fist from his collar,
" Yes, I am!!! She is my woman! You have no fucking right to disrespect her!!!"
Michelle's face darkened further. Tugging on his collar, he blurted with a sneer,
" Woman?? Do you think that she would have been fucking loyal to you if she knew the truth??"
I gave him a puzzled look, not understanding his words at all. After an odd silence, he continued, sneering at my face,
" Do you want to know why your grandfather agreed to let you marry her? Because he is fucking guilty. It was his gang who murdered her whole family. It's your gang who destroyed her family years ago. She would have left you long back if she found out the truth."
I gasped in shock at his words. I had never expected this outcome at all. No one ever mentioned this truth in front of me. Before I could question him again, a piercing voice came from the doorway,
" You...What... what did you just say.."
I looked at the way to find Iris standing. She was trembling, her eyes full of tears. She looked like someone who was going to burst out in no moment. Michelle glanced at her, repeated his words with a twisted smile,
" There..this whore again...You heard it right? The gang that you are so loyal to...the gang that you call home.. is the same organization that murdered your family years ago...That old man felt guilty and sheltered you here to repay you..."
Iris opened her eyes wide, shock appearing on her face. Stumbling a step forward, she grabbed Michelle by the collar, shouting and crying in pain,
" I WILL KILL YOU!! YOU ARE LYING!! YOU ARE FUCKING LYING!!"
Quickly grabbing her, I battled hard to set herself free. I didn't wish to see her getting hurt by Michelle. Michelle was probably at my father's age but he was a dangerous monster when he lost his temper. I cooed her softly, guilt soaring in my heart,
" Hush...Calm down... Darling...Calm.."
Suddenly she ripped my arms off with great force. Tears sprung from her eyes as she shouted shooting glares between us,
" YOU ALL ARE LIARS! ALL OF YOU! YOU FOOLED ME, XAVIER! YOU KNEW IT, DIDN'T YOU? NOTHING GOES UNHEARD FROM YOU! YOU PLAYED WITH ME LIKE OTHERS."
She stormed out of the door in a rage. My guards tried to block her but she threatened with hatred in her voice,
"TRY ME! I WILL FUCKING BURN THE WHOLE MANSION DOWN!"
I gestured at my guards to let her go. The moment she walked out of this room, I knew that it was over for us. It had been over a long time. Probably I would win her body if I married her but her heart and soul would always belong to Xavier.
Snapping my gaze back at Michelle, I found him smirking. He seemed like he wanted this outcome badly. His victorious smirk pissed me off. Letting out a growl, I kicked him out,
" GET OUT! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU EVER AGAIN!"

I drove crazily on the street, tears kept falling from my eyes. It felt surreal to me that I served the gang that killed my parents and destroyed my sweet family. I felt useless at this point in life. Everyone around me betrayed me or played me even Xavier. He didn't trust me with his instincts.
I cried harder as I drove on the empty dark street aimlessly. I had nowhere to go now. I had no one to lean on. After driving for an hour, I pulled my car abruptly in front of a car. Not one but many. In front of me, several cars were blocking my way out.
My jaw clenched hard in anger. Undoubtedly, these dogs were sent by Arthur to stop me. Did he think that he could stop me from going out? I would never be a part of the gang again that took everything away from me, my childhood, and my parents.
Getting out of the car hastily, I shouted after going over to them desperately,
" GET THE FUCK AWAY! GET OUT!!"
As I expected an ironic answer, the door of their front car was suddenly flung open. A middle-aged man stepped out of it, smoking nonchalantly. I furrowed hard at the unfamiliar face. He looked aged and dark in the skin.
I blurted out coldly, swiping my eyes across the other cars that had been opened as well,
" Who are you? What do you want from me?"
Before any answer could be heard, another figure followed him out. I was stunned to see Michelle with this unfamiliar man. Michelle had a cruel smirk on his face as he told the other guy,
" Augustine! That's her.."
I was dumbstruck for the second time after hearing the name. As far as I could remember, Augustine was the second most powerful man in the Mafia. He had a great feud with Arthur. Not only that, they had engaged in gun fights many times. What was Michelle doing with him? Was he betraying Arthur?
Augustine blew out his smoke, smirked after pointing at me,
" That's her? This little woman managed to handle two God-like men? Hmm! Interesting!"
Michelle huffed his words out, shooting me disgusted glares,
" Humph! She might look little but she is the most useful weapon, Augustine. Mark my words! They will tear down the world for her."
I shouted in shock and disbelief, glaring at Michelle,
" You traitor!! Michelle!! How can you BETRAY the organization?? You were just a beggar when they brought you into the gang. How can you backstab Arthur?"
Michelle sneered back his response angrily, his gaze landing on me fiercely,
" All because of you! He is being manipulated by you to go against me. Because of you, he raised his hands against me. Did you think that I will let pass the matter? Augustine! What are you waiting for? Get that woman and do whatever you wish!"
I reached for my guns to shoot against them. But suddenly something blew on my face from behind. Before I could do anything, foggy smoke blanked me out........
