Chapter 81 A ghost from the past
For a millisecond my breath, my heart and time stopped. Everything stopped. Just for a millisecond, but it felt like it was more than that.
I'm in shock and disbelief and so is everyone else. Everyone in the room is frozen, not saying a word, not even making a face.
We are all dead silent.
Catching my breath again, I look at, Junior with anger boiling inside of me. "Is this the a joke to you?"
"What? No, I'm not."
"Why are you bringing, Cristian, into this?"
He stands up to his feet and say, "Because he's alive, Elle and Nikolaos, has him locked up in a cell right now!"
"That isn't possible. I watched, Cristian get killed by his own father with my own eyes!" I turn to Jeremiah and Daniel. "You guys burnt his body yourselves."
"Didn't you?" I ask seeing their faces fall.
"Of course we did." They both answer in unison.
"Elle, I promise this isn't a joke. He's there. They have been feeding him drops of demon blood every single day."
I can't believe what I'm hearing. Cristian is a alive? But how?
"Nikolaos, is very cautious of who lets in the cells. They have been creating a monster in that cell."
Flashbacks of when I was in the cell, the glimpse of blue eyes, sounds of rustling in the cell in front of mine . I thought something was in that cell but I couldn't see anything to prove it, so I left it along.
"Is that possible?" I ask, Lyra.
"I am sorry to say but I have no knowledge on what he is capable of." She then turns to Jeremiah and Daniel. "You said you burnt his body, is there a chance they could have gotten their hands on his ashes?"
They both look at each other with wide eyes as in realization that it could be a possibility.
Andrew walks in the room looking at us confused as we all gather in the room. "What's going on?" He asks.
"Cristian's alive." Simon, says as if still in disbelief.
"What?" He asks caught of guard.
Even though my mind was still trying to wrap it's self around the possibility of Cristian being alive, I couldn't shake the feeling as to why Andrew left the room. "What made you leave?" I ask.
He rubs his temples as if getting an headache. "Uh, it was Chris. They can't find Isabel. They realized she's been missing since after the attack."
"Isabel?" Junior, mutters.
"What is it?" Simon asks.
"That name sounds so familiar." He looks up at all of us as if something struck him. "Isabel!"
"Yeah, we have established the name already." Jeremiah comments.
"No, Nikolaos is her mate." My mouth is on the floor. "They found each other when, Nikolaos was out for her pack. He promised her power if she agreed to do everything she was told."
"How romantic." Daniel mumbles nonchalantly.
"So, Isabel has been the insider this whole time?" I growl. "That bitch! She's been acting like the victim. We invited her into our home to help protect her people when she's been behind this the whole time and to her own people!" They just wanted freedom and she used it as an advantage.
She sickens me.
"Elle-" Andrew started to say something but I continue.
"Our people are in danger right now. Our child is in danger right now because of her! I am going to rip limp from limp once I get my hands on her."
And that's a promise.
I turn my attention back to Junior. "Do you think he has anymore people against their will?" I ask.
"Uh... I'm not sure. There is this girl, Francesca. I don't know where she came from but she seemed brain washed. Just to follow orders like the rest of us would."
"Did you say, Francesca? Short petite blonde?" Andrew asks.
"Yeah."
Oh no. I remember her.
The one that couldn't keep her nose out people's relationships.
"That is Luca's sister." Yeah, that too. "She's suppose to be in Paris, so she could stay out all of this."
"We have to take action asap, we can't keep we waiting anymore." I say directing to Lyra.
She seems to get the message and nods. "I will get it done." She says before leaving the room.
"Cristian? Being alive? Can someone please explain that to me?!" Andrew asks aggravated.
"Junior, remembers everything that happened at Nikolaos castle. He saw Cristian."
"But he's dead. Are you sure it was him?"
"Yes! I saw him with my own eyes!" Junior shouts. He then sighs and looks at Simon. "And I promise you it is not the same Cristian we all knew." That last sentence set a pit in my stomach.
What did they do to him?
"How do you remember all of a sudden?" Andrew asks.
"I don't know. I just got this massive headache as everything just came rushing in at once." He explains.
"Are you the only one? Maybe the others got their memories back too."
"I'd have to see if I can reach out to them." Jeremiah says.
Cora's crying coming from the other room distracts us. I make a move to go to her.
"Can I go?" Simon asks.
"Sure. Thank you. Her bottle is on the table."
He smiles before leaving the room.
"Great, now he's going to be venting to a baby." Daniel says sarcastically.

ELIZABETH'S POV
I finally resurfaced in the middle of night and the first thing that came to mind was my mother..... and Cristian being alive.
I will not believe until I see him with my own eyes or if someone proves it. I am still not up to full power so I can't do my mind trick thingy.
My mom runs through my mind again and I don't waste anytime sneaking out of the cottage to find her sitting by the well.
I smile watching her looking up at the moon. It is her favorite thing to do.
"Mother." She turns around and a smile grows on her face.
"I have been waiting for you." I laugh as I run over to her, wrapping my arms around her. "I missed you too." She whispers.
I pull away and sit next to her. "Are they really coming back tomorrow?" I ask.
"That is the plan, and we won't be wasting our time."
"I promise I won't disappoint you again."
She smiles and cups my face. "I don't want you to think you have to prove your loyalty to me, Lizzy. Stop punishing yourself for what happened over 2 centuries ago."
"But I do Mother, I blame myself. Our family were killed off because of my stupid decisions and falling in love." I stand up, turning away from her as I wipe my tears. "They may not say it but I know everyone blames me."
"No one blames you."
"Why not? I would." I shrug. I turn to look at her and I see her looking down with guilt. That's when something came to mind, no one has ever brought it up when we were in the afterlife. I just thought they didn't want to bring it up around me but I should've known better. I know my family and they are most definitely not subtle. Most of us were raised with anger because of the demons and just because I am the princess of the succubus kind, they would tell me what is on their mind. Take their anger out at some point in time.
"Mother, do they not know about my relationship with Nik?" She doesn't answer and I was given my answer. "Mother, do you know how pissed they will be when they find out?!"
"Yes, I do and that is why they will never find out."
"You can not keep this from them forever. They will find out at some point."
"I-I know, I just wanted my baby to be safe." She puts her hand out for me to take, I hesitate a little before I give in and put mine in hers. She pulls me towards her and I sit beside her in my original spot. "Our people will be so angry with you and even me, if they find out. They might not even fight beside us if they do."
I look at my mother in adoration as she sits in front of me. I'm so lucky to have her, even when I betrayed her and our people, she stills stands by my side and that makes me the happiest person in the world.
I can't believe I would choose love over this woman.
"Thank you." She wipes away the single tear from my face before pulling me in her embrace. "I love you."
"I love you too, baby girl." I close my eyes savoring this moment with my mother.
As I think over everything, I know what I have to do.
