Chapter 53 Old enemy
Just when you think you get a tiny break, even when in the middle of starting a next war with demons, something just had to be added because a girl could never get a break!
I gasp and without thinking immediately step behind Andrew.
"Andrew, it's nice to see you again." She greets him.
"Isabel, I didn't know you were a member of the Solar moon pack."
"Leading warrior actually. We don't go by the Alpha and Luna titles."
"Oh, I wasn't aware of that."
"So where is the Luna of yours, I'm dying to meet her." I could her the sarcasm through her voice.
My heart starts beating fast when Andrew looks beside him. When he realizes I'm not there he turns around and looks at me confused. I widen my eyes as he steps aside and I immediately plaster a smile on my face when I'm in her sight.
"Don't know if you've met before in high school but this is Elle, my mate."
She looks at me shocked and disbelief. "I remember you, Little miss nobody." I look down like some idiot back in high school. She looks at Andrew and ask, "This is your mate? And you accepted?"
"Isabel if you have a problem with Elle, I will disrespectfully tell you to get off our land."
"No need to get all feisty, although I kind of like it." My hands are clenched in fists as I hear her flirting with him.
Andrew pulls me in by the waist, "Gentlemen, could you please escort the Night walker pack and the Solar moon pack to their respectful rooms in the pack house please."
"Yes Alpha."
I slowly lift my head up as all of them follow behind our pack members. Isabel was the last to leave after giving me her famous glare.
Andrew asked Chris and Emma to give us a moment and they left.
"What was that all about?"
"I- She made my life a living hell all through out high school until she left a year before our last year."
"I will tell them to leave right now."
"No, no, don't do that. The last thing I want is the pack to gain another enemy because of me. Again."
"It's fine."
"No it's not. You were the same one afraid to turn them down in the first place." I sigh and hold his hands. "I'll be fine."
After some hesitation he dropped it but he made sure to tell me if she ever bothers me again I should tell him. He kissed my forehead and reminds me about the meeting in twenty minutes before he met back up with Chris.
Isabel was the bitch in high school. She was worse than Emma and she made sure everyday was my worst day. She made me even scared to step in public because I might see her and her friends which aren't here anymore. Thank goddess.
After they left, my life was easier. Even though people were still mean to me they weren't has bad. I never questioned why or where she left, just glad that she was gone.
A sharp pain runs through my stomach and I gasp. It went away after a second and I didn't think anything else of it. I quickly run home to get a bottle of water before facing the horrible, cold music, aka Isabel.
I open the door to see Anna eating our left over mac n cheese.
"What are you still doing here? I thought you were going to get more of your stuff back from the Lunar pack."
"Oh I was but Aiden wanted to carry them to me plus he's worried about you."
I take a bottle of water out of the fridge, grab a fork and sit next to her. "That's sweet of him but I'm fine."
"Stop the crap. We both know that's not true and your just putting on a smile for everyone."
I sigh. "I'm just tired of all this. Andrew found some stupid riddle we don't even understand for some bush that we've never heard of just because I insisted on saving some guy that I don't know and possibly all the other rogues."
She smiles looking at me. "You're so much like mom. Wanting to save everyone."
"I miss them, Anna." I whisper.
She takes me in her embrace and kisses me on the head. "Me too, baby girl."
We part and I instantly dig my fork in the mac n cheese. "Hey!" Anna complains.
"It's my food."
"Well you're gaining something there." She hits my stomach. "How much have Andrew been feeding you?"
"Watch it." I warn her. "And a lot. I'm not complaining."
"From what you ate at the dinner at Veronica's, I wouldn't be surprised if you're pregnant." I playfully hit her and we laugh it off.
I got carried away with the time and almost forgot about the two packs staying in the Pack house. To be honest I wanted to forget.
We meet in the meeting room, that we barely ever used but it's perfect for use now. Andrew and I sit side by side at the end of the table as everyone is looking at us. My hands start to get sweaty as I see Isabel enters the room, luckily she's at the opposite far end away from me.
Andrew holds my hand under the table and rub the back of my hand with his thumb in circles. I gently squeeze his hand to show my appreciation and shortly the meeting began.
"We scouted all through out the night and hadn't spot one rogue for the past week. We're not sure if it's finally over but we're scared this is just a pause, to catch us off guard." Luca comments.
"Plus our people have not shown up for two weeks. We found one dead just outside our boarders." Felix from the Solar moon pack added.
"We haven't spotted one either." Andrew commented. We both agreed to keep the one we have locked up at the castle a secret from them. "But we are sure they're coming back."
"And why is that, Andrew?" Isabel asks. "Does it have to do with demons?"
I squeeze Andrew's hand getting nervous. No one outside our pack, the Lunar pack and the vampires know about our fight with the demons and about me being a succubus.
"Why would you say that?"
"Mmm I don't know. There was this rumor going around that your pack was in a war with the demons. Like three or two years ago. Heard it was a blood bath."
"Yes it's true." He answers.
"What are you doing?" I ask through our link panicking.
"Don't worry." He answers back. "We were in war with them."
"Why and how did you even survive?"
"The demons were looking trouble and we got help from the vampires."
Everyone in the room gasp from shock. "Vampires?!"
"We made an agreement that would keep peace between us in exchange for their help." Andrew explains.
"And you really think they can be trusted? Do you remember all those years ago they attacked us for no apparent reason?"
"Yes I do Isabel, and they aren't the same ones that did."
"We will not partner with your pack while your playing friends with our enemies." Luca's father stand up and hit the desk.
"They are not our enemies!" Those are the first words I said to them.
"Oh really?" Isabel asks.
"Yes. They are not a bother to us and they can help with our situation."
"Over my dead body." Luca's father shouts.
"Yes, that's what you are going to be when you walk through that door. We know what's coming. So either you stay with us and we fight together or you fight alone and die. Your choice." I look at every single one of them in the room. Isabel and I lock eyes, she has the same deadly bitch face look.
I gulp and look away from her and wait for their response.
"Fine." Luca agrees for The Night Walkers.
We all look back at Isabel and she is still staring at me. I gather up the courage and stare straight back at her. She sighs and cross her arms over her chest. "Ok, but keep them the hell out of my way."
We all settled the agreement to get help from the vampires. We continued to decide how many of our men will be on watch for anymore attacks. Isabel insisted that we all have training sessions early tomorrow morning because and I quote, "I don't fight for no one. Every man to themselves and I will not make you people get me killed."
Just learnt that their pack is more of a all warriors pack.
We close the meeting for the day and Andrew and I met back up with Anna and Aiden. Aiden wanted to know more about the demon problem and what he could do to help but I turned him down. The last thing I want is for him and his pack to get involved again. Plus we have enough people by our side.
After dinner they left to stay at our old house like usual. They renovated it for when they would visit.
I exhaustedly trudge to the bed after taking a shower and got comfortable. A few minutes later Andrew comes in shirtless and grey sweat pants. I bite my lip as I watch him get ready for bed. He lays on my chest after giving me kiss.
"You have this weird obsession with my boobs." I commented while playing with his ears.
"Their just so comfortable." I smile and I immediately hiss as I feel another sharp pain through my stomach.
"What is it?"
"My tummy hurts." I complain like a child.
He kisses my stomach and gently rub on it. "Is it ok now?"
I smile and nod, "Yes." I run my hands through his hair and whisper, "Everything is going to be ok." I immediately drift off.
ELIZABETH'S POV.
"Sleep." I whisper to Andrew. He knocks out immediately and I rest his head on the pillow next to me.
I get up from the bed and open the window. I take in the fresh air enjoying the scent of nature.
I strip from the pajamas completely naked and step on the edge of the window. I spread my arms out wide and close my eyes then I fall....
I fly back up before I touch the ground and smile. I missed this. I try to be as quiet as possible and get off the pack land. I fly higher than usual so the ones on watch don't recognize anything. I stop in the highest and closest tree near to the castle and just watch the moon. I'm pretty sure some of the vampires saw me but I don't care. If they try to come at me I will kill them without a second thought.
I just needed to be some where closer to him, to grieve. I didn't get the chance to two years ago and I'm going to everything in my power to change that.
"We're coming." I whisper. "All of us."
