Amber's POV

I quickly rush to Alex's side to calm him down and also because I was afraid with the thought what if the trigger of the gun get pulled by any f them accidentally?
I couldn't stand by and just watch this. I couldn't let Alex kill his brother or his father.
But why was he so mad at Marcus?
Did he know what had happened that night?
Well, before that I had to stop this.
Alex hit on his father's head with his and then he hit him again but this time on his nose. Nicolaus took a while to handle the pain of his nose but Alex used that time as his opportunity and attacked him again, making him fall on the floor. Alex pulled the trigger and was about to shoot Marcus but before he could realize it, he was standing in the opposite direction from where he was standing before. Because I had used my all strength to turn him around.
"Alex!! Calm down, please", He tried to fight with me but I held him as tightly as I could from his back. "Please calm down! Please! Drop the gun, please, please!
Finally, Alex stopped fighting with me and I loosened my grip around his chest a little.
"I'm fine now."
"Then drop the gun, please", I requested softly, and once he did. I freed him from my cage.
"You used your strength to cage me in your arms?", He asked or more like a statement, turning his face toward me. Maybe I would have. Because truth to be told I didn't realize that.
"I did?", I muttered and found him glaring at me. His eyes were red before of sleepless night, tension, anger, and because of many more reasons. "I'm sorry then.", I added and rushed into his arms and held onto him. "It was important to stop you from doing something for which you will regret all your life."
I turned my face toward Nicolaus Stone before speaking, “Please take Marcus to the hospital as soon as possible.”
Alex stiffened the moment I said that and his eyes fell on Marcus again. I pulled his face back to me. “You, look at me, forget about him for now. How about we go to our room?”
“You want me to let go of him that easily? Even after knowing what he did with you?”
It means Alex knew the truth.
But if that was the case then why was he not angry at me?
Was he thinking that Marcus raped me or something like that?
“It was not completely his fault.”, I mustered all my courage to speak him that even I was guilty.
“I know even those Knights were involved with him.”, He said, confusing me a little. How Knights were involved in all that incidents?
Did they spike Marcus’s drink or mine?
“Knight?”, I couldn’t help but ask in confusion.
“Yes, It was Marcus who asked Knights to do that thing with you.”, He said and his words were laced with anger and venom. I gasped, knowing about this fact.
How could Marcus even think something like this? As far as I knew him, he loved his brother and had accepted me just for the sake of his brother?
Did he plan all this against me just because of the things that happened between us?
Did he think to kick me out of his brother’s life just to hide the incident of that night?
Like seriously?
What was he thinking at that moment?
Either he was overconfident or thought that his brother was dumb?
I felt his body trembling against mine and I could tell that he was still trying to control his anger.
“But you saved me, right. You didn’t let anything happen to me.”, I tried to show the end result of everything. As it was said that all wells that end well. I again made him look at me when the direction of his eyes changed.
“Will you look at me? I’m saying something.”, I said, cupping his cheeks in my hands.
His eyes searched mine and I could see the pain so deep and raw plastered on his face. “I’m sorry for taking that long. I’m really very sorry. Even after I found you, I hated to purchase you like a thing when the truth is you’re precious to me.”, He apologized as he wrapped his arms around me and pulled my body tiger against him before burying his head in the crook of my neck.
Why was he apologizing? He had absolutely nothing to do apologize for. It was all my mistake to run from the house like that and then it was all his brother’s doing.
“You have nothing to apologize for. In fact, just like the other time you were there for me to save me. And you did.”, I assured him. “Now, please stop thinking about all those things.”
We broke the hug and I found him nodding. “But that doesn’t mean I will forgive him.”, He added, before we walked toward our room,
The second we were alone, Alex gripped me by my waist and pulled me tight against him. It was like he didn’t want to let me go, not that I was complaining. His arms were holding me as he buried his face against my neck once more. I couldn’t do anything but hold onto his head while also rubbing his back.
“I can’t live without you, Amber.”, He confessed. “Let people call you my weakness but just the thought of losing you or getting separated from you makes me lose my mind.”
“You will never lose me.”, I muttered. “I promise that I will never leave your side, no matter what.”
“And what if you leave without telling me anything?”
“Then….then ask me to repay those 5 Million which you have paid for me.”, I joked, knowing that there was no way in my life I could earn that much money. So, there was no way I could leave him.
Alex laughed at my joked and gripped my legs, guiding them so that I was now straddling him. He gently laid me down on the bed and covered my body with his. He slowly lifted his head and watched as his own finger traced my bottom lips. His eyes were hungry as he followed the moment.
“I crave your body every second of the day and now that you’re my wife…”
Immediately I started feeling panic, I couldn’t concentrate on what was he saying further but the idea of consuming our relationship was scaring me.
The memories from that night were scaring me.
His reaction after listening to the complete truth was scaring me.
I started shivering when I remember the incident of that night. I started feeling disgusted with myself for sleeping with someone who was not my mate.
I turned my face when Alex was about to kiss me and Alex noticed it.
“Amber?”
“Alex, I don’t…I’m not sure that I’m ready now.”, I stuttered and looked at him. I was definitely not ready. I wanted to clear all the things between us before taking a step ahead in our relationship.
He nodded his head. “I can understand. A lot of things just happened in your life and you need time to overcome all those incidences. So, I don’t want to force you. I do want you and I’m barely restraining myself from taking you right here, right now. But I won’t.”, Saying this, he maintained some distance between us.
