Along the way, I couldn’t stop crying, it was even more torturous than that time, when the car Sean was traveling in was hit by Ariel. There was nothing I could do but pray, but it only brought tears to my eyes. My hands were busy wiping the tears off my face. With half-running steps, I entered the hospital building, saw Sam who had just come out of the elevator, I immediately approached the man.
“Where is he??” I asked in a hoarse voice, my vision slightly blurred from tears.
“Currently Mr Valentino is undergoing surgery to remove the bullet in his stomach, you don’t have to worry, no vital organs were injured from the shot.”
I was just speechless when I heard Sam’s explanation, how did he know such details?? Perhaps he had often faced situations like this. My Inner Goddess is like a wilted flower on her red sofa, while my senses seem to disappear. The elevator ride seemed so long, I looked at the operating room door where Sean was. The door seemed to turn into a hell door in my eyes, I sat on the visitor’s bench not far from the operating room door. Next to me sat Sam, while on the bench in front of me sat Jared with Zafrina.
“How’s Joana?” I asked Sam.
“Your secretary is still in a coma after undergoing surgery to remove the bullet, his injuries from gunshot wounds are quite severe.”
Tears welled up again upon hearing the news, poor Joana.
“Oh, Ana.”
My mother-in-law approached me half running, behind her were Rani and my father-in-law. I got up from my seat, Ramia’s mama immediately hugged me, she started crying. He ended his hug and checked my condition with his eyes wet with tears.
“How are you?? Are you hurt?? How is the baby?? Is she safe??”
Panic and fear were so evident in each of his questions, I replied I was fine and he was a little relieved by that. My father-in-law also gave me a hug, after that Rani, she sobbed on my shoulder.
“He’ll be fine.” I tried to sound okay responding to the current situation, but unfortunately I failed to look strong in Rani’s eyes, just the opposite. We sat down on the bench I had sat on a moment ago, my brain replaying our memories together this morning in the kitchen. I can still clearly remember everything we went through so far. All those laughs, his seductive gaze, his smile that could make women in this world and in another melt, all his ego and attitude that turned my world upside down. All those exciting things, Paris, Rome, Venice, Germany, like a knife cutting me from the inside, were all beautiful, but that was what hurt me even more. Sam left after Jared whispered something to him that I didn’t know. Rani gripped my left hand tightly, her eyes were closed, her lips seemed to be reciting an inaudible sentence. I knew he was praying, I leaned my back on the back of this comfortable bench. I don’t know how long we waited, until Sam came and handed me a white plastic bag, there was a tantalizing aroma from inside. I just remembered that my stomach is only filled with half a glass of chocolate milk. I thanked Sam, the man smiled politely. I opened the food Sam gave me, this risotto looks delicious.
“Don’t tell me you haven’t eaten since this morning.”
Rani asked me right on target, I was just silent while starting to feed food into my mouth. He sounded annoyed, please don’t scold him at a time like this. Rani then tells Sam to immediately go buy apples and milk for pregnant women, she explains in detail what kind of milk Sam should buy. I was just silent while listening and eating my risotto, the two people had a small argument about milk for pregnant women, after Sam understood, the man left. After a long wait, the operating room lights went out, a doctor came out from behind the door.
“Mr Valentino’s family?” asked the doctor to all of us, Mama Ramia immediately approached the doctor.
“I’m his mother, Doctor, how is my son’s condition?”
“He’s fine, ma’am, you don’t need to worry, the bullet only pierced his stomach muscles, didn’t hurt any vital organs.”
Hearing that, the darkness within me slowly faded away, the weight that had been heavy on my shoulders was lifted. He survived, my black and white knight survived, half of my lost energy slowly re-filled my body. My hands reflexively on my stomach, a smile of joy appeared on my face, Rani hugged me with a smile mixed with sobs.
“He’ll be awake in an hour, the nurse will immediately transfer him to the inpatient room,” the doctor told him before he walked past us back into the operating room.

Sean seems to be enjoying the business magazine he is currently reading, this morning he looks better than two weeks ago after the surgery to remove the bullet in his stomach. A week later, the doctor allowed us to treat him at home. Sean really didn’t like being in the hospital, one of the reasons was because he wasn’t free to do anything with me. My Inner Goddess smiled indecently, I put her breakfast tray on the nightstand, she was distracted by my arrival.
“The investigator will be here in an hour,” I reminded him, sitting on the edge of the bed on his right. He sighed heavily, a week ago Sean refused if the investigators from the police asked us to give information on Ariel’s problem, according to him the police were too long-winded in dealing with this problem. After all, the man died in the incident Sam’s bullet had pierced his heart. Sean argued, this problem has been resolved, all evidence of crimes committed by Ariel has been submitted to the police. Starting from the warehouse that he used as a place to store his illegal drugs, to the extortion he did to Atika. Bastard!! He really had gone mad by doing that. But I want to know what he said to the police to make the police believe him. I changed the topic by taking Sean to breakfast. I accompanied him while telling the progress of the renovation of the Orchid Foundation office building, the fire incident accompanied by the explosion damaged the floor of the office server section and is currently under repair. I helped him to get out of bed and move into the wheelchair, his face looked pained as he stood up to shift from the bed to the wheelchair, I pushed the thing with him on it leaving our room into the living room.
