Chapter 2 I Forbid You from Slandering Emily
It was the first time and also the last time Alex held her hand. Maddy calmly asked, "What's the matter, Sir?" Being so dumbfounded, Alex couldn't believe his ears.
"What did you called me?"
"Sir," Maddy said again.
"You always purposely call out my name to win my heart, don't you?" Alex impatiently said his thoughts.
Both of them were in numbness with the question. As she faced his impatience, with individual reservations, Maddy said "Aren't we going to get a divorce? Can you... let me call your name?"
Alex felt uncomfortable but woke up from his daze in the blink of an eye, thanks to the expectant spark in Maddy's eyes.
Alex tried to squeeze her chin hard. He forced her to raise her head to face his ferocious look.
"Put away your cowardly gaze. Are you going to beg for my pity? Be careful or else I will pull out your eyes."
Maddy was humiliated by the legal officer's gaze. He was always ruthless to her in public.
"I'm... hurt." She can only utter a soft sound.
Muzzling, Alex urged. "Sign up quickly."
Maddy's Signature was twisted and ugly, like her own mood right now.
"Signature denotes human character. Your lousy dignity is as distorted as your signature." Alex always found a chance to disdain her.
She stood up with tears in her eyes and walked away first because she didn't want Alex to see laughing at her. Alex is a ruthless person, and her austereness and weakness suffered for his satisfaction.
"Alex never cared about anyone in his life. In his heart, the only existing thing is Emily."
Maddy lifted her head to look at the cloudy gray sky. Her hand unconsciously caressed her stomach. Where will she and her child go? Their future is a dark haze.
Curiously wiping her tears, Maddy waited for the bus with her swollen red eyes. The bus arrived and everyone hurriedly rushed in. She also stepped forward but suddenly stopped by his hand. She turned back in surprise. Alex looked at her with a ferocious chaotic breath.
Alex asked sharply. "Are you crying?"
Maddy was bewildered. Now, she has no right even to cry?
"Didn't I already paid you for the divorce fee? What are you crying for? Was it too little? You want to defame me?"
"I don't..." Maddy shook her head. Her wrist was squeezed in pain by him as if he wanted to break it.
"Emily told me all." Alex angrily thrust her hand away. She staggered when her hand hit the iron pillar.
"I do underestimate who you are. Aside from the risky conspiracy, your dignity is like trash."
The back of her hand turned red from the impact, Maddy held her aching hand without any talk.
Some people who are waiting for the bus enjoyed the beautiful girl's dilemma that's been harshly cursed by a handsome guy.
"What did Emily told you?"
As the question ended, Maddy immediately received a slap in her face.
"Flippantly! Emily is your sister, who taught you this kind of rude speech?"
Maddy was heartbroken. Her lips were trembling as if she wanted to cry. She bit her lip and looked at Alex. She mustered up her courage to call him out.
"Sir! Can you tell me what Emily's sister said about me?"
Alex coldly looked at her artificial gesture. "Three years ago, it was you that used your sickness to threaten Emily to leave me. She loved you, so she accepted your unreasonable request."
"Did I use my death to threaten Emily?" Maddy was so amazed that she forgot his aching arm.
"Alex, I don't understand what you mean..."
Alex brutally slapped her. With fierce eyes, he stared at her as if he wanted to devour her.
"Alex is the name for you to call? Don't forget, we're divorced. What tricks did you want to use to put gold on your rotten dignity? You take advantage of her sisterhood and harmed Emily. You even used your sickness to force her to marry a foreigner. You are too despicable."
Maddy never forgot the cause of the alternative wedding event.
Three years ago, Emily and Alex were lovers. They prepared to get married. But once drunk, Emily had sex with a strange man. The consequences were so significant that Emily was forced to go abroad to accompany that man.
Maddy once advised Emily. "Sir Alex loves you; he will forgive all your mistakes. You just need to confess..."
Emily laughed. "You don't pretend to be hypocritical. Don't you secretly love your future brother-in-law? In this situation, when I can't have Alex, aren't you the happiest person?"
Maddy was slapped and flipped down on the bed. She was pale in her excuse. "My feelings for him are pure, I have never had an unethical thought..."
"You are as dirty as the wrong feelings in your heart." Emily leaned her knees on the bed, pulled Maddy's hair, leaned closer to her face, and with her stern voice pierced Maddy's ears.
"You definitely don't want Alex to be humiliated because the wedding doesn't have a bride, right?"
Her hair jerked; Emily crushed her body. Maddy vaguely understood her sister's implication.
Emily lightly slapped Maddy's face like a demon from hell she looked. "This night, I will disappear. You have a chance to act as my body's proxy. You can deceive and climb onto the bed of the man you have always aspired."
"No, I won't deceive him."
The consequences of her rejection were slaps from her sister. From their young age to old, Emily always bullied Emily and forced her to comply with her requests.
That very night, Emily went abroad. The next morning, Maddy replaced her sister with Alex. That began a series of days in estrangement.
The truth was distorted through Emily's narrative, which led Alex to misunderstood. He thought that everything that happened was according to her plans.
"I did not threaten Maddy. I don't even know who she gets married, how can I force it..."
As soon as Maddy opened her mouth, she received the slap immediately. Alex eagerly looked at her. "Cunning! You are so indifferent that you can set a trap to make me think that you are Maddy and crawl onto my bed. Is there a man you don't know, but you can go to bed with?"
"Because you were drunk... and it was my first time, didn't you understand?" Maddy was pale in disgrace. In his eyes, was she so filthy?
Because Maddy's face was gentle, it would cause the other person to feel sad when she quietly cries.
Alex didn't care. He ruthlessly slashed through her torn heart. "
Did you lack tricks? First time? What do you think I believe after the truth was told by Emily?"
"Emily lied! She did wrong. She didn't look like her appearance..."
"I forbid you from slandering her." Alex brutally slapped her that made her fall limply to the ground.
Maddy was looking very hard at this time with her bloody hands rubbing the roadway, drooping hair, and dirty clothes. Her tears were falling because of injustice.
"You have the right not to love me, but you don't have the right to slander me."
"Slander? You said I slandered you?" Alex chuckled. He rolled his eyes around the crowd, said cruelly. "This girl is the sister of my lover; she shamelessly used her sickness to threaten her sister to leave me before the day of our marriage. She used all sorts of tricks to crawl into a man's bed. Do you think she must be a prostitute?"
"Robbing the lover of your sister is such a shameless thing."
"Her sister is definitely an honest person who accepts intimidation. If I were her, I would scratch your face."
"Her face is beautiful but her mind is like a centipede."
"The prostitute also asked to set up a temple. Lol"
The crowd scolded and cursed Maddy as the women said in fair sentences.
"Even though she is ignoble, a man should not beat women. Husband and wife..."
"She's not my wife." Alex was angry. His expression was too cold and ferocious that made her scared.
"A prostitute like her doesn't deserve to be my wife."
Maddy was so humiliated. She lowered her head to hide two rows of tears, she did not try to justify anymore. "So sorry Sir, why did you talk to such an ignoble person like me?"
"Huh. I already know your sly tricks. Be dead and don't mess with our lives."
"Sir, I promise I will never bother you again." Maddy put her bleeding hand on the ground and stood up unsteadily.
Alex left, Maddy burst into tears. The woman standing next to her witnessed this situation and came to comfort her.
Maddy got on the bus amid the scornful criticism of passengers. Before sitting down on the chair, she felt her head getting dizzy. Her eyes felt dizzy and then she lost consciousness. She didn't realize the scream.
"It's awful. She is bleeding. Quickly call an ambulance."
