Chapter 11 Kitten
"These guys are despicable." Elly pointed her fingers around in an impolite way, then stopped at Alex's cold face. "How can they talk behind your back? It was all a lie!"
"It's ok, Elly," John covered her mouth immediately. The people attending this night party were group presidents, or at least were managers, it would be very bad for Elly to say those words.
"Elly, can you wait for me in the yard, please?
"But..."
"Listen to me," John said in a grumpy way.
"I... Yes, I will go there."
Elly humored herself and left, trying to look at Alex with menacing eyes.
Being threatened by a dumb woman, Alex's heart missed a beat. He kept looking at Elly until she completely left the meeting-hall. Her aura and the way she left was so familiar. Alex doubted whether he had met her somewhere.
"Hargreaves President, please don't look at other's fiancée that way," John said in an apathetic way.
Alex turned back and replied in a disregarded way, "It was nothing like your look on other's wife."
"Maddy and you have been divorced. You two are no longer a couple anymore. Don't say that, you do not understand this thing."
Alex angry said, "Where is Maddy?"
"Didn't you require me to take her away three years ago? Why do you care about something that you abandoned?"
Alex became angrier because John was not answering his question.
"How was Maddy? Was she... alive?" Alex asked, trying to turn off the volume, hoping the truth was not opposed to the thing he wants.
John kept the room silent and looked at Alex.
No one was intended to budge others.
At the same time, Elly met another character that was difficult to deal with. She just wanted to take some breath to reduce the anger inside, Elly didn't notice a boy was running in the hall.
"Ouch, ouch, it hurts, what is wrong with you, don't you have eyes, huh?"
Elly tried to stand up, it was clear that that was the boy's fault, but he continued to cry and shout.
The boy was about three years old, wearing a stylish dress, having a round face with curly black hair.
He lied on the ground, kept saying that he was hurt. Elly came by in a worrying way and checked his safety. "Where are you hurt? Let me see it, kiddo."
"Here, here and there, I can feel the pain everywhere. It was your fault. I need your compensation." The boy stood up and pointed around his body.
Elly laughed hard because of his cuteness, she knew that he was just kidding.
"What do you want, baby? Unfortunately, I do not bring any sweets. Would you like to go inside for some cakes?"
The boy stared at Elly. He blinked, then there was a tear welled up. Then he cried, he sobbed, then he hugged Elly tightly, bawled.
"Mom, mom, my mom..., huhu... finally, finally I met you..."
"Oh boy, don't cry, it's ok, where are your parents? We will go and find your mom, ok?"
Elly pushed him away, trying to wipe away the tears.
"My father is drinking there." The little boy pointed at the meeting hall, looked at her with sparkling eyes. "And you are my mom."
"Don't say so, your mother would be sad if she heard that." Elly touched his chubby cheeks and smiled gently.
Realizing that Elly denied being his mother, the kid was shocked, then he howled, "Oa oa oa... you must have hated me, you hate and you want to leave me here... hu hu... no one loves me..."
Elly tried to calm the child, but he cried louder and louder. She suddenly wanted to cry with him.
"Hey kid, I'm sorry, it's ok now, don't cry."
"Then say you are my mother. I will stop crying immediately."
"I am really not..."
"Oa oa...hu hu..."
"This bitch, what have you done to my boy?" Elly was pushed by someone, she tumbled down the ground.
She tried to sit up and figure out who pushed her. A woman with pungent perfume came and held her shoulder, then slapped right at her face.
"Hey, why did you hurt me?" Elly pushed the lady away angrily.
"You, bitch, how dare you touch my boy?" The girl slapped Elly again and turned to the boy who stopped crying because of the frightening fighting.
"Kitten, let me see, let your mother see if you were hurt."
Kitten tried to get out of the lady's hands and shout, "Emily, I hate you!"
He ran and hid after Elly's back saying "Mom, please help me!"
Elly realized this woman now that she was the woman whom she hit when she was on the way to Hargreaves Company to get the job. It was said that she was Russel Lady. However, the little boy has just called her full name.
Elly did not have good feelings about this grumpy woman.
Emily was too worried that Kitten would get hurt while playing, and Alex would punish her. She didn't notice Elly was there until now.
"Kitten, come here with me!" Emily said confidently while holding Elly's hands so tight.
"Emily, getaway."
Emily with her beautiful makeup face squirmed. This boy was always the pain in Emily's neck. Emily trying not to hit the kid in front of strangers turned around and released her anger on Elly.
"Madeline Russel, you little fucking bitch, you think that you can approach Alex with this plan?"
"Hey, once again, I am not Maddy, and what is the plan you are saying?"
"You think I don't know? You will use Kitten to confront Alex, I read you like a book!"
Elly cannot understand what this lady was trying to say, she asked another question.
"Who was Alex?"
Kitten shook her hands, Elly stopped, looking at Kitten's little face, Kitten said "Alex is my father, and you are my mother, why don't you know your husband's name? What was wrong with you?"
"Kitten, stop saying those gossip." Emily tried to separate Elly and Kitten. She used so much force that Kitten felt pain in his hands and cried out of pain.
"Hey, I dare you to cry. If you make any sound, I will lock you in the darkroom."
Being threatened, Kitten stopped crying immediately. He tried to stop those tears from pouring out. What a poor boy!
"Hey, he is just a kid, you don't have to be that cruel!"
Elly didn't agree with Emily s solution, she wanted to save Kitten but Emily pushed her again.
"This is my business, my family business, does my family include you, huh? Do I have to ask for permission from a stranger to discipline my child? A bitch like you does not have the right to talk to me."
"Russel Lady!" Elly quivered, being insulted by strangers. "If you want to say anything, do it in a polite way! I don't know you and we are absolute strangers. Why did you hit me many times and insult me that much?"
Emily smirked and replied: "Maddy! It has been three years. You are truly a good actor. Let me tell you, I am having a happy life with Alex. Don't think that you can change your looks, become prettier, and then steal away my happiness. The person that Alex loves is me. You were just a young girlfriend, there is no room for you."
"Are you crazy? I said that I'm not Maddy, and I didn't know who Alex was. I want you to apologize for those bad words, now"
She could not find a reason with this madness. However, this Russel Lady looked like a person from the elite world, she also wore the gorgeous prom with elegant details, how can a person like that say those words?
"I have nothing to say with a hoe."
"What... you!"
"Elly, let's go." The cold voice appeared, trying to cut off the anger inside Elly. Elly turned around and saw John was behind her. "This was not a place for an argument. It's time to go home."
