Micheal also turn towards them when he heard her words.
“the both of you must be happy to be working in the same company?” she asked again. Amy felt her question was strange. But she still answered yes. Their food was bought served.
“wait!” Evelyn said to the waiter.
“get me three bottles of drink” she said.
“three bottles? You cant even handle a glass” Charles said.
“so you can talk? I thought you were dumb all day” she said sardonically. Sonya lean in to Maxwell and whispers.
“why do I feel like the atmosphere is a little strange?” Maxwell also lean in to her and whisper back.
“that's why I asked you to join us. Lets just enjoy our food and have some fun” he said and laugh silently.
“are you not going to stop your sister?” she whispered again.
“as long as she is not hurt, I will just stay put” he also whispered back.
“waiter please add more beers here” Sonya yelled a little. While they were talking. Micheal was helping Amy to choose what she will eat among the foods. He helped her with the table napkin and place it on her lap.
“are you sure its okay to eat food like this, why don’t I order something else for you?” he asked.
“there is no need for that, am okay with this” Amy replied and start to eat.
“Mr Micheal, the way you are acting will make people think you are taking care of your girlfriend” Maxwell said.
“why don’t you concentrate on yours” he replied back.
“wow, are you admitting it?” He asked. Micheal ignore him and continue eating his food.
“after the day Micheal left her house. He has changed to her a lot. She was very happy about it but felt something was not right. He make sure she has lunch on time and even bought all her meals for her. He even reduced her works and help her with them. She likes it but she suddenly start to feel uncomfortable. He didn’t say he likes her and for someone like Micheal to act like that then there must be a reason” Amy thought and eat her food silently. The waiter bought the drinks and Evelyn opened them immediately. She pour a full cup for herself and drank in one go. She wanted to take the second one and Maxwell stopped her.
“what are you doing?” you did not even eat anything at all” he said and took the cup from her.
“mind your own business” she snapped at him and pick another cup from the table. She poured another one and drank it before anyone could stop her.
“that’s my cup” Charles said after she drop it. Evelyn threw the cup away instantly and wipe her mouth. The waiter came to them and pack the broken glass on the floor.
“I will pay for it” she told the waiter and requested for another one.
“what do you do that for?” Charles asked annoyed by her action.
“how is it any of your business? Why don’t you concentrate on your girlfriend” she said also pissed off.
“what nonsense are you saying?”
“my words must sound like nonsense to you right? But then am not surprised at you. I shouldn’t except something from a low life like you” she said.
“is that why you kissed a lowlife?” he asked.
“If you thinking using your glass means kissing then I must say you are naive” she replied.
“at the library, have you forgotten or would you like me to refresh your memories”
“what rubbish are you saying that would never happen”
“really? Then what does you stealing a kiss from me in the library? Where you having an experiment?” he said again. Evelyn kept quiet.
“this bastard” she thought.
“she actually thought he was really sleeping and just did that on an impulse” she clinch her hands together in anger and not knowing what word to use to reply she poured another drink and drank it.
“Evelyn slow down” Sonya said and use her shoulder to hit Maxwell to say something.
“what do you want me to say? Its their business” Charles also start drinking and in a few minutes they both finished the bottles on the table.
“boss, can we leave first?” Amy asked when the situation continue to feel awkward. Maxwell nodded and she stood up and left with Micheal.
“okay, that’s alright. Let’s go back” Maxwell said to the both of them. They ignore him and stare dagger at each other.
“Maxwell, you take care of Charles, I will go with her” Sonya said and Evelyn stood up and left. Sonya quickly followed her leaving Maxwell with Charles.
“Charles” Maxwell called gently after they all left.
“yes sir” he answered nervously…..

After Micheal left with Amy, they both took a cab together and drop not far from the resort.
“Micheal, can we talk?” Amy suddenly asked. Micheal stop walking and face her.
“lets find a place to sit and talk” she said and they walk ahead to find a seat. They sat down sat together on a small bench.
“what do you want to talk about?” Micheal asked oddly. He wonder if she wants to talk to her about the abortion.
“why are you doing this?” all of a sudden you start been nice and caring. I thought about it and I know that there must be a reason why. If is because of that night then there is no need for this” she said cautiously. She look at Micheal excepting him to say something.
“why did she not still say something about the baby?” he thought unhappily.
“why didn’t you tell me you were pregnant?” he asked directly.
“what?” she asked confused.
“there is no need to pretend. I know you were pregnant and you abort it immediately” he said again. Amy look at him queerly not understanding him at all.
“I wanted to get angry and confront you but I decide not to. I know I should have discuss this with you immediately its happened but I acted like a coward and pretend nothing happened, so I don’t deserve to say anything and besides it normal for you not to want to give birth to the baby. But still its my duty to nurse you. I met with my doctor and he told me about the effect of aborting and also…”
“wait a minute” Amy cut him short.
“what is it?” he asked.
“I was not pregnant and I did not abort any baby. Why would you think something like that? I will never put myself in danger by aborting” she said.
“what are you saying? Your brother told me you were coming straight from the hospital that day” he said.
“do you believe that guy. Indeed I was coming from the hospital but I was there because of my mom, she is admitted there” she explained.“then how did you explain why you were sick that day?” he asked.
“that’s because of the contraceptive I used its had some side effect” she explained again. Micheal closed his eyes. He felt like a fool.
“is that why you do all those things? Then you are the one who sent those gift and money” she asked. Micheal nodded his head. The two of them kept quiet for a while.
“do you know Charles before he came to work in the company?” he asked.
“no”
“why do you say you do when Evelyn asked?”
“he has been working with us for more than six months now, isn’t it a long time?” she asked also.
“and why is that important?” she added.
“you seems happy with him” he said in a low voice.
“yes, he is funny” she answered.
“so you like him” he said.
“why will I like him? Am way older than him” she replied.
"but he is your type?” he asked again. Amy look at him closely. “why do you seem so concerned with me and Charles? You sound like a jealous boyfriend” she said with a serious look. Micheal also stare back at her. He felt like his feelings has just been exposed. Amy look away from him.
“Amy” he called and use his hand to turn her face to him.
“can I kiss you?” he asked and without waiting for her reply, he push forward and kissed her. The moment Amy felt his lips on hers, her whole body tremble. She use her hands to hold to edge of his clothes and closed her eyes. They kissed passionately, then Micheal broke the kiss still holding her face with his hands. Amy’s face was all red and she was blushing uncontrollably. Micheal peck her on her lips again and resume kissing her. He stopped again and release his hand from her face.
“i think I like you” he said and stood up immediately and start to leave. Amy sat down on the spot shocked.
“I think I like you” the word ring in her head repeatedly for a million time in one minute.
“what are you staring at lets go” Micheal called to her. She stood up and ran to him and they walk back to the resort.

Sonya followed Evelyn and they went back to the resort together. She helped her into her room and get her some water. Evelyn felt nausea, she quickly enter the toilet and vomited. She vomit for about three minutes before she stopped. Sonya followed her in and rub her back to ease her. She flush the toilet and help her stand. Evelyn rinse her mouth and staggered out of the toilet with Sonya following closely behind her. She sat down and held her head.
“when you know you cant handle it then why do you drink that much?” Sonya scolded.
“non of your business” she replied.
“of course its my business. Am your friend and also your brother’s girlfriend” she restored and sat down beside her.
“you kissed him? when?” Sonya asked curiously. Evelyn choke on her words coughing. Sonya pat her back.
“why are you so surprised about it? Are you feeling guilty?” Evelyn remove her hand from her back.
“what nonsense are you saying? Who get guilty over a kiss” she replied.
“so you really kissed him. But I remember someone saying that she does not even know him at all and hates him. Do you kiss someone you hate?” she asked
“like I said its none of your business” she answered again.
“why are you always trying to find fault with him whenever you see him?” she asked seriously.
“why are you asking like you don’t know, am sure he must have told you a lot of lies about me”
“he didn’t say anything bad about you. He just told me how you broke up” she replied.
“why do you do that?”
“do what?”
“I mean break up with him for something so stupid” she said. “something so stupid? So you mean him cheating on me is a stupid reason to break up?” she said getting angry.
“why would you say he cheated?”
“because I caught him red handed with that stupid lover of his” she yelled. Sonya was surprised, Charles did not mention anything about another woman.
“yes, that Amy” she said angrily.
“Amy? Which Amy?”
“is there any other Amy apart from the one with us here?” she asked more pissed off.
“she was acting like a weak and naive woman but she is actually a sly woman, acting all innocent” she said jealously. Sonya laughed at her.
“I think you are making a mistake, I can say with all certainty that this is the first time Amy and Charles will communicate together one on one” she said.
“that’s what you think, they’ve been together for a very long time now. I even met her at the hospital” she restore.
“oh! now I get it. That’s his elder sister, Amy. She is not this Amy” she said.
“sorry?” “the thing is Charles has an elder sister also called Amy. Am sure she was the one you met in the hospital and years back” she explained.
“that’s not possible” she said not believing it. Sonya pick her phone from her pocket and opened it to show her Amy’s picture. “she is the one right?” she asked as she showed her the picture. “yes”
“she is his sister. She was once Simon’s girlfriend so am sure” she said.
