Naruto : Perfect Control Chapter 7

So, I went to the Senju compound. Tsunade dragged me there after class, like she said she would. No chance to dodge it. Not that I wanted to—just... it felt a bit strange. We walked side by side through the village, her chatting about something half the way. I didn’t catch most of it. My mind was too busy trying to prepare for the awkwardness of stepping into one of the most prestigious clans in the entire village to mooch off a few jutsus. But I can’t deny that I was excited about it. Once I had something to base it on, I could probably do a lot more. Another thing I was interested in was learning medical jutsu—or at least medical knowledge—which would help me improve my chakra reinforcement. Soon, we reached the lands belonging to the Senju clan. The Senju compound wasn’t flashy. Not like the Uchiha’s place, which looked like they were compensating for something. Senju grounds were old, quiet, and spread out. Trees everywhere. Subtle signs of heritage—like they didn’t need to show off because everyone already knew who they were. We reached the gate, and the guards just waved and greeted her through. I got a few raised eyebrows, but Tsunade waved them off. "Relax, he’s with me." A few turns and walkways later, we entered what looked like the main house—or at least, one of the bigger ones. And waiting at the front steps was someone I recognized. Mito Uzumaki. I had met her before, but only once, so we can’t be said to be too familiar. She gave me a warm smile. "Inaba, right? Good to see you again." "Yes ma’am," I nodded. "Thanks for the meal last time." Yeah, she paid for us all last time—did I mention that? Tsunade rolled her eyes. "Don’t be so formal. You act very bad, so it’s looking plain embarrassing. Just be yourself instead." Mito chuckled. "That’s not true, Tsunade. Well... maybe a little." "See? Told ya." Tsunade chimed in, but before I could say anything, two more people showed up—Tsunade’s parents. Her mother looked like the calm, level-headed type. Her father... less so. "Is this the one you were talking about?" he asked, grinning. "Yep," Tsunade said simply. The man looked me up and down, then gave a theatrical nod. "So, you’re the reason she’s suddenly taking training seriously. Not bad, I can see the reason." "Tou-san!" Tsunade shouted, face already going red. Mito added fuel to the fire. "You know, it wouldn’t be strange for a nice kid like him to join the family someday..." Her parents laughed. Even Mito was smirking. I just stood there, silent, processing. ’...This is the strongest clan in Konoha?’ How should I say... they feel a bit comical... Thankfully, Tsunade saved me from the trouble of saying anything by pulling me away from their teasing and dragging me down the hall. "I swear, they’re insane," she muttered under her breath. "Don’t listen to anything they say." "I didn’t say anything," I replied calmly. "Stop thinking about it too," she said, mock-seriously. She took a sharp turn and opened a heavy door. "This," she declared, "is the reason you’re here." It’s true—some people die of thirst while some are drowning. The storage room was not decorative. Not labelled for show. Actual jutsu scrolls. Organized in cabinets, placed neatly, dozens on each shelf. The walls were lined with them. The center had tables, reading stands. This wasn’t a storage room—it was a whole-ass library. I stood there, trying not to let my face betray too much. Tsunade looked over and smirked. "Yeah, overwhelming, right?" "Little bit. This is what the Senju are famous for, right? Thousands of jutsus..." "Yup... Don’t worry though, I’m not gonna dump the whole thing on you. We’ll start with the basics." She walked over, grabbed a small set of scrolls from the lower left shelf. "D-ranks," she said. "Mostly useless. But good for starting to learn elemental jutsus—they’re the easiest ones there are. So we’ll start with them. But before that..." She pulled out a thin strip of paper. "...Affinity test. We need to figure out what element affinity you have, then you can learn a jutsu of that element." I took the chakra paper. "Didn’t think we’d do this today." Yeah... I had forgotten about it. Too focused on figuring out genjutsu and physical reinforcement. Besides, my shabby chakra amount isn’t exactly the best fit for ninjutsu. She shrugged. "Best to get it done now." I channelled a bit of chakra into the paper—and it immediately split into five sections. One burned, one soaked, one crumpled, one crumbled to dust, and the last wrinkled like dried leaves. We both stared at it for a second. Tsunade blinked. "Fuck... All five?" I blinked back. "All five elements?" "Language, Tsunade dear... but damn, all five... Last person I saw with that was probably Hashirama himself..." I turned to find Mito standing at the door. Of course she’d followed. She looked over the paper, then nodded. "Well. That explains a few things." "...Like what?" I asked curiously. "Why your chakra feels so strangely balanced," Mito said. "Most people are tilted in one direction. You? You’re just... unnaturally even. That’s almost unheard of. And your chakra control is unlike anything I’ve ever seen." Okk, so I have all affinities as a perk of ultimate chakra control... neat. Tsunade grinned and smacked me on the back. "Guess I brought the right stray home." I sighed. "Please stop saying things like that. You’re making it sound weird." "No promises. And it’s the truth." She chuckled. Then we finally started off with training. We began with D-rank elemental scrolls—Fire Ember, Wind Push, Earth Kick, Water Ripple, and Lightning Tingle. All just small techniques to get a feel for how elemental shaping worked. Which took me only like a few tries... this was surprisingly easy. And another thing I noticed—I needed way less chakra for any ninjutsu due to my chakra control. Like, 10 percent, give or take. So, unless it was a ninjutsu like Rasengan, I was good to go. "That was faster than I expected... You want to become a ninjutsu-based ninja?" Tsunade asked. "Nope. I’m best at chakra control, so I was thinking something along the lines of Genjutsu expert and Medical Jutsu—along with physical reinforcement for Taijutsu," I replied honestly. "Wait, Medical Jutsu??" It was as if she only heard that one part. "Great! I dream of becoming the best medical ninja in the world. Since you’re also interested in medical jutsu, we’re studying together from now on!" Tsunade said excitedly. Then— She placed a huge stack of scrolls on the reading table. "Biological theory. Chakra system studies. Basic medical knowledge. All essential." She grinned. "Yup! These are all the basics." "Just the basics??? You read all of this?" "Are you crazy? I haven’t even read half of them. Would probably take a few more years. And that’s when I skimmed the boring parts. But I’ve been going through these since I was five. If you want to learn medical ninjutsu, this is the bare minimum." I looked at the stack again. Thousands of scrolls. Maybe more. "And you were calling me a nerd... I’ll need a bag," I said, then looking at the scrolls again, "Or you can just sit here and study alongside me," Tsunade commanded... yes, commanded. "Tell me, you’re dragging me into this just because you’re bored doing it alone, right?" "I would never. You clearly wanted to become a medical ninja." She laughed and pulled me to the study table.
