I was so busy these days and everything is just out of control. My sleeping patterns are weird and I have to go to Miami every week to check my new hotel there. I rarely stay at home too.. and even spending time with Valentine is hard.
She's a pediatrician and sometimes she has a night shift to stay at the hospital. When I went home early , she's not there.. When I went to Miami , she was available. I miss her..
"Son? Joey?" I looked up to my dad
"Yes dad? I'm sorry.. I-"
"I thought so.." He suddenly said that and I looked at him with questioning eyes
"Go take a rest.. I know you've been working like this for awhile , let me take over" I shook my head
"Hey I'm fine dad.. I can do this"
"Take 2 days rest , spend time with Valentine" He said and I take a deep breath
"I have a lot of work dad , I can't just leave thi-"
"Let me work for 2 days bud.. your old man miss working"
"Dad no"
"Go Joey.. go home" After debating about this.. I decided to call Valentine , asking her to have lunch together.
"Hello"
"Hey babe.. what are you doing?" I asked but I felt she has a weird tone
"I'm at the hospital currently have a break"
"Are you okay? Your voice is different?"
"I'm fine"
"Are you sick?" I asked and she didn't answer
"I'm going there" How can I be so stupid? I didn't realise that my wife is sick.. stupid Joey. I quickly get into my car and drive to the hospital where Valentine works.
Oh my gosh.. My wife is sick and I'm still working? Not even noticing that she's sick? This is stupid and crazy. I ran into the hospital and quickly Valentine's doctor's room.
"Hello Mr. Harris" Valentine's nurse assistant Julie greet me
"Do you see my wife?" I asked
"Oh she's in room 206 , take the lift to the 2nd floor" She said and I thanked her really quick. I go to the lift and anxiously wait for it. Argh.. I can't take it. I quickly go to the stairs and ran to the 2nd floor. Looking for the 206 and bursted the door
"Valentine" I called
"Joey?" I walked in and find Valentine laying on the hospital bed. Her face is so pale and she got IV attached to her hand
"Hey.. why didn't you tell me that you're sick?" I kissed her forehead and sit beside her bed. Holding her hand and kissed it
"I'm fine Joey , it's nothing big" She smiled
"I'm sorry.. I'm sorry that I didn't notice that you were sick. I'm sorry"
"I'm fine , there's nothing to be sorry about. The doctor already took my blood to test it and I'm pretty sure that I only have a fever that's all. I don't want to make you worry besides you have a lot of work to do" I sighed looking at her.. Why is my wife so understanding and caring while I don't? Why didn't I realise that she's been sick these days?
"You are my number one priority Valentine not work , I should have known that you're sick" She hold my hand tightly
"I'm fine Joey , now that you're here I'll get more better quickly" Suddenly the door opens and a doctor came in with his nurse
"Hello Doctor Valentine" He greeted and he checked the IV drops , her temperature and things like that. Suddenly someone bursted from the door.. I raised my eyebrows
"Dr. Mark , this is Dr. Valentine's blood results" The nurse gave him a yellow envelope , he opened it and then checking the results
"Is there anything weird Mark?" Valentine asked him , he looked at the both of us
"Mr. And Mrs. Harris , congratulations. You're going to have a baby" My eyes widen and I turned to Valentine who was already smiling widely. I kissed her forehead and she squealed
"Really? Really?" Valentine asked and Mark gave the results to Valentine. She read it and she looked at me
"I'm 1.5 months pregnant" She began to tear and I smiled widely
"Congratulations to you two.. You'll get better tomorrow Val , no need to worry" Mark said to her and she nodded
"Thankyou Mark.. you should too.. Imagine having cute Stanmores around" Valentine said
"We just got married, Val.. Congrats again you two , you both are going to be great parents" He said and then he left the room. I crashed my lips to Valentine and can't believe this is the happiest news that I've ever heard
"I'm going to be a daddy" I said
"Yes.. you're going to be a great dad Joey" She smiled
"I can't wait" I put my hand on her belly and caressed it. The baby bump hasn't shown itself yet.
"Can you take a break from being a doctor for awhile?" I asked worrying about her health
"Joey.. I'm find , I still can take care of them"
"But you'll get tired" She caressed my cheek
"I can work love don't worry"
"You need a lot of sleep and eat" I said and she laughed
"Love.. it's fine"
"But gorgeous , if you're too tired it will be dangerous for the baby" She shook her head
"I won't take a full shift silly.. I'll take half day shift"
"That's my girl"
"So excited!!! Can't wait to name her or him" She looked at her belly and I smiled widely
"Can't wait for the little Harris to come out! Oh man.. I'm so happy right now!!" I can't contain my happiness
"Kiss me Joey" I turned to her and she smirked , cheeky Mrs. Harris
"I love you so much"
"I love you too my bad boy"
"You're definitely My Valentine" I kissed her deeply..
