CHAPTER 34 VERGE OF DEATH
Natasha drove along the road, her face radiated with smiles. She chuckled. "I'm sure by now you and your Desmond are being welcomed in the land of the dead" She laughed. "Finally, my revenge is done and I can return home happily!" Natasha cheerfully mumbled as she drove to the outskirt of the town.
After hours drive, she finally pulled up in f
ront of a dark forest along the road. Without hesitation, she sauntered out and trod deeper into the forest.
LORETTA' S MANSION
Loretta, Paola and Bianca finally got home. They made their to in and settled in the hall, celebrating their victory. The table was covered with various type of alcoholic beverages. They howled and sang along the loud music in the background.
" Come on, girls, drink all you can!– Desmond is finally mine with that ghost girl , Gisella out of the way" Loretta exclaimed.
" This really calls for a celebration–Cheers to your victory, Lore" Bianca added with a chuckle.
" Yeah, cheers, girl" Paola expressed.
Loretta smiled. "And cheers to you guys as well for the support and love. I wouldn't know what to do if not for your advice....Come, come here " She instinctively pulled them in for a hug
They all chuckled, elated. Just then, Lore's phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID and chortled.
" Wait guys, I think it's Bello, calling. Let's me attend to it briefly. I'll be right back " They nodded.
" Alright, go ahead."
She picked the phone and smiled.
" Hello , Bello– How did it go? Show me the picture of the scene, I asked for" She eluded.
" Sorry, Miss. Lore– I couldn't get the picture. Someone intruded so had to rush out of the scene."
Her face instinctively went pale. "What?" She stuttered. "How could you be so careless?– Who was it? Did you see the face?"
" Sorry, Miss. I think he tailed me"
The thought of Desmond dawned on her. She gasped, "He?– Oh no, this can't be" She tilted her head. "I hope it's not what I'm thinking" She nervously mumbled.
" You said he?" She emphasized.
" Yes, he– if I can recollect correctly, she called him Desmond"
Her face flushed and her legs felt numb. She involuntarily staggered into the sofa.
" Oh, my God, Desmond" She cried. "Oh no, this can't be" she eluded in a faint tone.
" Tell me– What did you do to him before escaping? ", she queried with tears in her eyes.
" I defended myself by attacking back – Don't worry, Miss. I took care of everything. He won't live to reveal my identity. He's dead."
" Oh, God, this can't be happening."she cried, dropping the phone in the process. Paola and Bianca who stared in anticipation rushed to her.
" What is it, Lore?– what happened to Desmond? " Bianca queried but she just kept mute.
" Come on girl, talk to us" Paola exclaimed, tensed.
" I think he killed Desmond." She answered in tears. They both gasped with a flushed face.
" How?– I mean, what happened." They stuttered.
" I think he followed that bitch and saw Bello behind her so and tried to save her– Damn!" She thumped the glass of wine down the table.
" Calm down girl, let's call Martin and find out from him, okay?" Paola opted.
" Yeah, I think Paola has a point over there."
She swiftly glanced around with darting eyes.
" Yeah, right– where's my phone?" She briskly searched for it.
" Here you go..." Paola handed it over to her.
" Thanks." She anxiously took the phone, scanned through and dialed Martin's line.
HOSPITAL
Martin dashed into the corridors with the speed of lightening; his breath harsh and chest rose and fell rapidly." Help us, please–Someone is dying." He howled, not noticing the ring from the phone.
" Where"s the victim?" A nurse queried as she closed up on him.
" Here , please–They are two but one is badly injured" He answered, leading her towards the cab.
" Nurse Anna, please bring extra stretcher, a drip and a bag of blood,–Hurry" She shouted back to one of her colleague. They quickly carried Desmond and Gisella onto the stretcher and rushed them into the emergency ward with Martin behind.
" Please, stay here, you can't come in " A nurse instructed, stopping him in his tracks.
" Please, save them, please" He cried.
" We'll try our best, dear." She answered and hurried in. He slowly fainted into one of the chair by the ward. "God please save them" He cried.

Loretta stared at them with a blank gaze.
" What's up, Lore? Is it going through? " Bianca queried.
" Yes, Bianca but he's not answering – Gosh, this is so frustrating" She stuttered.
" Keep trying, he'll pick up. I think he might be busy; just keep calling" Paola insisted.
" Okay, Paola , if you say so."
She picked up the phone and continued calling.
THE FOREST
30minutes after a long walk, Natasha paused in front of an old ancient mansion which looked like a castle. She scoffed. " Finally, i'm home once again" She smiled and sauntered into the mansion. She flicked her fingers at the door and it slowly rolled opened.
A slim, gorgeous and beautiful lady in a black dress; her appearance looked like a goddess– stood at the hall with her back facing the door.
" Are you finally done with your task?", she uttered in a cold tone, her voice echoed through the whole mansion.
" Yes, mum– Greetings" Natasha replied with a bow.
Sasha instinctively raised her hand in rage, stopping her in her words.
" Then what's this?" She roared, flicking her hand on the wall next to her, which created something like a screen. Natasha saw everything that went on in the bush and the hospital. She gazed at the screen, her rage flashed her face.
" what do you have to say about that, Nat?–why can't you just take care of that yourself? Or you're afraid of killing them yourself?" Sasha exclaimed, facing her in the process. Her face glowed with a dark aura of evil. Her beauty, beyond imagination.
" No, mum– I'll take care of it. Give me this last chance."
" Last chance, you said?– Huh?" She scoffed. "Your time is almost due, honey. You do it now or I'll take care of you"
She exclaimed, lifting her hand towards her. Sasha's hand started glowing with a very strong magical power.
" No, please, don't do this– I promise to take care of it this time around" She pleaded with her knees on the floor which made Sasha retrieve her hand.
" Huh, Okay– your last chance. Go now!"
Natasha bowed her thanks sped off from the mansion.
