CHAPTER 29 STOP IT
Gisella helplessly rushed through the corridors towards the canteen, in search of Desmond.
" Hope I find you on time, Desmond ", she cried, bumping into Martin in the process.
" Ouch, watch where you're going, ghost ! – what's the rush for?" He howled and she swiftly pleaded her forgiveness as she sped off.
" Oh, I'm so sorry, Martin. It was an accident ", she exclaimed. He glanced at her back with a frown.
" Such bad manners she's got over there too. She didn't even pause for a second to apologise properly. Gosh... ", he nagged as he glided towards the classroom.
CANTEEN
Loretta got to the table with the food and settled beside Desmond, placing the tray on the table.
" Here you go, Desmond. This is yours, have it ", she uttered with a smile, placing a plate in front of him.
" Thanks, Lore" He smiled back.
" Don't mention." She answered and turned to the rest. " Now guys, let's eat before lunch time is over– You know we need to rush back to class before the next lesson "
" Yeah, sure...", Paola exclaimed They all started eating except Desmond who sat over the table, his mind occupied with the earlier incident class.
" Hey, Desmond ?" Loretta nudged him. "Huh?" He gazed up at her.
"why ain't you eating?"She asked.
" Oh, nothing." He faked a smile.
" Okay then, let me help you with it" She scooped a spoon of rice, about to feed him when his voice stopped him half way.
" No, Lore– I'll do that myself", he held his hand with a smile. She gave a sheepish grin.
" Alright, if you've said so– Eat up then." She mumbled.
" okay, I will ", he answered and pulled the plate a little closer to himself.
Loretta who was now possessed by Natasha gazed at Desmond with a grin as he took one of the chips towards his mouth.
" That's it, Desmond, eat up." She smiled. "By the time your dear little Gisella gets here, you'll be far gone", she mumbled.
Just then, a voice howled behind them which instinctively drew their attention.
" Stop it, Desmond !– You can't eat that!."
Before they could know, the food was on the floor. Gisella stared at the group on the table with darting eyes. Her chest rose and fell rapidly as she gasped for breath. Loretta, Paola, Bianca, Desmond and the rest of the students present, stared on, marvelled.
" Gosh, Gisella – What was that for ?", Desmond angrily exclaimed. She fidget
" Um....I'm really sorry for that, Desmond. It was an accident."
" An accident?– Is that what you just said?", he replied with a chuckle, his gaze still fixed on her.
Gisella innocently nodded.
" How dare you spill that food away, Gisella?", Loretta angrily shouted with a raised hand, about to slap her; When Desmond exclaimed.
" Stop it , Lore...! – Don't you dare lay a finger on her." He glared at her. " This is between Gisella and I. You have no right to interfere. I will handle this myself "
He stated.
Loretta, Paola and Bianca stared at him, completely puzzed. Bianca gave a sheepish chuckle as she turned to Loretta.
" Come on dear, sit here and calm down ", She called to Lore, pulling her down on her chair.
Desmond turned back to Gisella with a stern gaze.
" I thought you said you didn't want to see me anywhere close to you– So now, tell me, what happened ? What problem do you have with me, eating with Loretta and her friends, huh?–Tell me, now !" He shouted which mad her flinch.
" Nothing, Desmond !– Nothing " She sobbed. "You won't understand anything for now but one day, you will." She exclaimed in tears.
Just then, the bell went off for break over. Gisella sped out of the canteen in tears. Desmond stood in his tracks as he gazed at her back, confused.
" Let's go, girls" Paola cried, leading the way out of the canteen. Loretta and Bianca followed suit.
" I knew you were hiding something from me, Gisella and I'll surely find out what it is today" He mumbled to himself and trod out towards their class.
CLASS
Loretta suddenly paused at the entrance of the class. Bianca and Paolo instinctively glanced back at her with furrowed brow.
" Ouch, my head! " She exclaimed and slowly crunched to the floor in anguish.
" Lore?, Lore?– what's wrong with you ?", Bianca and Paola nervously chorused.
" My head is really spinning.... ", she cried.
Just then, Natasha teleported out of her and took a stand beside them. Her gaze burning with rage as she glared at Gisella whose gaze was fixed on her while she stared from the class, bemused.
" Natasha? – Oh, my God" She stuttered. "How could you be so mean and wicked." She whispered underneath her breath.
" This is just the tip of the ice berg, Gisella." She chortled with a grin. "I'll so deal with you this time." Nat muttered and vanished from there.
" Lore– are you okay, now? Is it better?", Paola queried. She sauntered to her feet with the help of her friends.
" Yeah, I'm fine." She replied.
Desmond approached and saw them. He panicked and sped to their side.
" Lore ? Loretta! " He called. "What's wrong with her?– What happened? He queried as soon as he neared them.
" Do you even care? – Just leave her alone" Bianca replied, pissed. Loretta instinctively held her and gesticulated.
"What was that for, Bianca?– He was just worried about me that was why he asked so why being so harsh on him?" She asked.
" But Lore, have you forgotten what he just did to you at the canteen? "Paola queried.
Desmond sighed.
" I'm really sorry about that, guys. It was only a misunderstanding – I'm really sorry Loretta"
Loretta who seemed a little confused and not completely aware of what happened, exclaimed.
" Guys, stop this !" She sighed. "I don't really know what happened but I'm really tired now, can we go in before our teacher walks in?"
She stated.
" Yeah, let me help you to the class " Desmond replied, lending a hand.
" Thank you so much, Desmond, Let's go...", she mumbled, taking Desmond's hand as they trod into the class.
Gisella stared at them while they glided past her desk, hurt. She laid her head back on the desk, hiding her tears.
Paola and Bianca gazed at their back, puzzled.
" What's happening to Lore?–Is she having a memory disorder or something ?" Bianca queried and Paola shrugged.
" I don't know what's really happening here, Bianca. I'm kind of lost and confused at the same time..."
" Is true they say, love is blind. I can see she's really blind folded by her one sided love." She eluded, tilting her head.
" Say it again, Bianca." She sighed. " Anyway, let's get in before, Mr Dan comes"
They both strolled into the class with their gazes fixed on Desmond and Loretta.
