CHAPTER 22 YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND ME
HOSPITAL
Gisella and Lizzy arrived at the hospital with Gina. Gisella quickly rushed into the hospital as she desperately howled for help.
" Help us, please– someone is dying!" She cried. Some nurses hurriedly approached her with a stretcher.
"Come,where is the patient?" The queried
" Please follow–" She fidgeted with rapid breath as she sped ahead of them. Lizzy sat on the floor with Gina on her laps when the nurses approached with Gisella.
" Save her, please..", Lizzy cried with a brooding gaze on noticing them. They swiftly laid Gina on the stretcher and raced her through the corridors to the emergency ward. Lizzy and Gisella paced after them.
" Please stay here." a nurse uttered as they entered into the ward. They nervously nodded while the door went shut. They shuffled around with a worried gaze. Gisella drew closer to a chair at the corner of the ward and wearily fainted into it. She let out a faint sigh as she gazed down. Just then, a voice called beside her.
" What're you waiting for before you make use of what you were gifted with from birth?" She jolted and swiftly turned towards the voice. To her surprise, it was an old woman in her late 90s. She froze as she stared with wide eyes and raised eyebrows. Her brow furrowed "Didn't see her earlier before or?" She thought to herself but her mind couldn't comprehend.
" Who are you and why did you say that?.", she calmly queried, confused. The woman smiled with a faint chuckle as she stared into her eyes.
"Who I am doesn't matter but who you are does." She stated. With a fixed gaze and tug ears, she cried. " Meaning?"
" Meaning you're the solution to all that's going on in your life and the only person to end all these evil around you. " She explained and Gisel just stared at her without words.
"You're a gifted child who just need to appreciate, accept and realize herself and her potential, Gisel– So What's keeping you from accepting who you are? Why do you let people intimidate you? Just think and act fast before you lose something more precious to you." Without hesitation, she rose to her feet and turned to leave.
" You'll know where to find me when you accept who you are." She added.
" But how will I–" Gisel spoke up but before she could finish her words, the old lady had diminished from there. Her eyes swiftly lurked around but couldn't find her anywhere.
" Grandma?Grandma..!!!", she shouted as she searched around the corridor but found no sign of her anywhere. " Where could she had gone in such a blink? I don't even know her name or where she stays. How can I find her then?" She stuttered. Just then, a thought dawn on her.
" Wait!" She mumbled. "Or she might be in one of the wards or outside the hospital?–I'll go find out,I need to find her"
Gisella quickly rushed in and out of all the wards and finally outside the hospital as she thoroughly searched for her but still no sign of the old lady anywhere. She got back to the corridor and faint into the chair, exhausted, confused and depressed.
" Where did you go? I've been looking all over for you" Lizzy cried. She gave a faint smile as she gazed up at her.
" Um– I went to get some water"
" Okay, hope you are alright– You look worked out ",she asked as she settled beside her. Gisella nodded with her gaze fixed on the floor. Her thought kept running wild. Just then, they heard the door of the emergency ward slammed open. They swiftly rose to their feet with darting eyes as they approached the doctor.
" How is she, doctor?", they chorused. He instinctively let out a faint sigh with a brooding gaze which made them tremble in anxiety. "What is it, doctor– Please talk to us" Lizzy cried.
" Um–I'm sorry to say this but tried our best. We lost her– She died before getting here." He stated.
" Oh, God...! why, how could this be?", Lizzy trembled in tears. Gisella stood there, so shocked and graved that her tears could not even flow from her eyes.
" She suffered from a strange skin disease that devoured only her inner skin cells without showing any sign on the body. I've never witnessed such a disease ever– I'm really sorry for your lost." He sighed as he patted them and strolled off to his office.
Gisella crunched to the floor and yelled out in pain and frustration. Lizzy quickly held her to calm her down. Just then, they saw the nurses approaching out of the ward with Gina's body covered with a white sheet.
" Aunty!–No!!!, Please don't take her away, please!! Do something!!!! ", Gisella cried as she firmly held onto the stretcher.
" Come here, Gisel, please– calm down. " Lizzy held her back in sobs.
" Is better you take her home now else she' might break down....", a nurse advised. Lizzy nodded and pulled Gisella out of the hospital.
SCHOOL
School was finally over. Desmond hurriedly packed his stuff into his bag and dashed out of the class.
" Desmond!", a voice called from behind. He paused and turned to find out who it was. He sighed on noticing who it was.
" Loretta?" He mumbled. "What do you want?" He asked with a cold voice. Loretta gave a sheepish grin as she closed up on him.
" Um–.Just want to know if you'll be free tonight– I'll like to treat you to a dinner that's if you don't mind"
"Dinner?" He chuckled. "You made me laugh,Lore" He gave a scarcastic gaze. "And who said I'll like to go on a date with you? – Gosh, just let me be, I'm really in a hurry at the moment. Go find something better to do with your life....", he yelled at her and dashed out of the class.
Loretta gaze at his back with a raised eyebrow and a slightly tucked chin. Her lips instinctively curved in a slight close-lipped smile.
" I won't let you go off so easily today, Desmond." She chuckled. " I'll make sure you agree to go on a date with me tonight... ", she muttered with a smile and dashed off after him.
