“Then I will try my best to convince you, in the same way I did when I had to win Sarah’s heart,” Artemis responded with a smile. “Please give me a chance, Mr. Haysbert. I may not be a genie, but I can make all your princess dreams come true and always keep her happy,” he added.
“Now I can see from where my princess learned these cheesy lines,” Brandon said, arching his eyebrow. Artemis gave him a nervous smile, not knowing what to say next. “Caro told me everything about the trip and also about the proposal, and I just could visualize it at that moment. Do you have pictures of it?” he asked next.
“Yes!! I have.” Artemis said and took out his phone from his pocket and unlocked the phone; he started showing the pictures of their Spain trip. Brandon took his phone from his hand and started swiping the screen to see pictures. Brandon couldn’t take off his eyes from Caroline’s lips in all the pictures. He even came across those pictures in which they were kissing each other. Artemis bit his lips nervously.
‘I think this is also our test.’ Bolt said.
‘Test? How?”
‘You can identify a person’s character by checking his or her gallery and see, our father in law not just your pictures of Caroline but also pictures before you met Caroline. Maybe to check whether your phone has some other girl pictures or not.’ Bolt explained and sensed Brandon’s intention. Though what he was doing was a bit rude by checking someone’s else phone but then… he placed himself in place of Brandon and felt he wasn’t wrong at his place as an overprotective father who was checking those things that no reports could tell him.
Brandon asked Artemis to unlock WhApp, and he did the same. Brandon didn’t enter the conversation between Caroline and Artemis, but yes, he did check all his chats by searching ‘Love, sex, sweetheart, Love you, Caro, Sarah, mate and a few other key points, and every time Caroline’s number used to pop up on the top, sometimes his mom, dad and friends used to pop as well, but no other female’s message was found in his WhatsApp. His jaw clenched when he met with another failure.
‘It looks like he is really a nice guy.’ His wolf told him.
‘That also means that there is nothing to cancel the wedding.’ Brandon answered him back
“Here,” Brandon said, returning his phone back to Artemis. “Caro will stay with us until your official wedding in the human world because a lot of our relatives are human. You can leave if you want.”
“I.. I was thinking the same.” Artemis said, and with a lot of difficulties, he asked. “But… but when will be our wedding, Mr. Haysbert?” He asked in a low tone because he didn’t want to stay away from his mate.
‘I hope he doesn’t end up saying after twenty-five years.’ He thought.
‘If he would, then I won’t sit quietly.’ Bolt growled in his mind.
“Two to three weeks. My princess always wanted a grand wedding, so I have to make sure to fulfill her dream.” Brandon said.
Artemis’s eyes widened in shock hearing that. He wasn’t expecting this answer. He wanted to hug Brandon immediately, but he controlled his happiness. “Mr. Haysbert, if you don’t mind, then will you let me gift my mate the dream wedding that she wanted from childhood? It’s a request.” He said, getting excited. Brandon so much wanted to say NO, but at the same time, he knew that there was now someone else in his princess’s life as well who loved her just like him and wanted to fulfill her dreams just like him. He had to step back a little instead of competing with his son-in-law.
“Okay. But I have one condition.”
“Condition? I’m ready for all your condition, Mr. Haysbert.” Artemis agreed without hearing it because, by this time, he had also realized that Brandon wasn’t a villain in his story.
“Da.. dad,” Brandon corrected him. Silence fell upon them. “My condition is that you have to call me… Dad,” he added.
This time Artemis couldn’t control himself, and leaving his seat, he hugged Brandon. “Thank you. Thank you so much, Dad.”

“So, are you not going to test me by … umm drugging me?” Artemis asked, leaving the club.
“No.” Brandon shook his head. “That was just to scare all the suitors of my princess. You know!!” he added with a shrug. “Also, I observed how your eyes were just fixed on me the whole time instead of looking anywhere else.”
“I’m one woman man, dad. Even if you won’t have been there, I wouldn’t have looked at anyone lustfully because my mate is waiting for me at home.” Artemis assured him.
“Hmm. By the way, what is with your mother?” Brandon asked about Sila, who didn’t have any past. How was that possible that she had no identity before thirty years, OR maybe she was hiding something?
“I don’t consider MEGAN ROSSI as my mother,” Artemis replied, thinking about his biological mother. “In fact, I feel ashamed to call that lady as my mother. I’m not like her, dad. Even though we share the same blood in the body.”
“No. I’m not asking about Megan Rossi.” Brandon corrected him. “I’m talking about your mother who raised you, Sila Gosling. Colton had gotten your background check and didn’t find anything about her before thirty years. And I know if my son is not able to find anything about anyone, then that person is surely hiding something.”
Brandon placed his hand on Artemis’s shoulder.
