On a fateful day, I met Oceana when my father took me to the Palace for the first time in my entire life for Oceana’s father, the Alpha King, to honour my victories with the rogues.
“It’s your son.” Oceana’s father roared with happiness and admired how brave I was for my young age to defeat the wolves.
I was glad, but my attention kept darting to a little girl in a yellow gown hiding behind a young dude who raises his hand up and waves at me.

Back then, Oceana was just a child.

She was totally shameless and would hide behind Gérard in fear anytime I came by slightly further away from me.

“Hey, kiddo.” I looked in his direction and saw Gérard smiling at me. He walked up to me after my father left with the king to go speak privately.
And who was he calling a kiddo?
I was nearly nine years old.
“Can you at least smile at her? She’s quite scared of you because of your cold aura.” He beamed.
He was handsome, as the rumours say, and his eyes seemed like someone who hadn’t experienced hardship before, quite pure.

I thought an Alpha was supposed to be rough and bold, and why was he behaving like some pussy—acting like an angel?
“How is that my business if she is not smiling?” I coldly added, clearly showing that I was not friendly with him.
He shrugged, still beaming. “You know one thing about this little thing is that she just wants to be your friend,’ he faced Oceana. “Isn’t that right, gorgeous?”
