“But I don’t remember walking back to my bedroom...” Lin Wen Xin scratched her head lightly as she struggled to recall what had happened last night.
She remembered that she was having a really sweet dream when her body suddenly floated up in the air.
The entire story took a drastic turn at this very moment! She dreamt that she had been kidnapped by a ferocious man!
Lin Wen Xin remembered shouting for him to let her go but he actually ignored her and instead, had held on to her tightly!
How dare he!!
But she knew that she had lesser strength and would never be able to win him so she had to play a different card.
She then mustered up her courage and began to scratch his face like a wild cat as an act of defence.
The next thing she knew, Lin Wen Xin had woken up in her bedroom this morning.
Was it actually not a dream at all? Why did it all felt so real to her??
Lin Wen Xin pondered for a while, before finally brushing the thought away.
As she headed upstairs to the dining room for breakfast, she realised that Wang Shen Ze is not around.
Judging by the time, he would usually be here by now.
Lin Wen Xin then turned to the servants nearby and asked curiously, “Do you all happen to know where President Wang had gone to?”
The servants simply gave her a judgemental look before ignoring her and continuing with their daily chores.
Everyone in the house knew that she is an unwanted wife that their boss had brought home.
Hence, nobody has ever served her, neither have they treated her with even a little bit of respect.
Her status in the house might even be the same of the servants.
But Lin Wen Xin did not mind their bad attitude at all as she continued to make her own breakfast as though nothing has happened.
“Is he even working on the weekends?... Hais it’s really not easy to be a boss...” She thought quietly to herself while feeling bad for Wang Shen Ze.
Just as Lin Wen Xin was about to take the first bite of her breakfast, Hong Xin Rui barged into the dining room with her loud footsteps.
The servants quickly dropped their work and rushed over to her side in a fearful manner.
Hong Xin Rui looked at Lin Wen Xin with disdain before ordering her, “You! Bring me my breakfast!”
The servants immediately retreated to the side and stood in two neat rows with their heads bowed.
“??” Lin Wen Xin was simply puzzled by her strange request.
There are so many servants who are ready to serve her, yet she just had to single her out to prepare the breakfast?
Hong Xin Rui is obviously just making things difficult for her!
Lin Wen Xin decided to ignore her and continued with her breakfast.
Even though she felt bad for taking away the ‘wife’ position from Hong Xin Rui, she is still only willing to be ordered around by Wang Shen Ze.
After all, their marriage was a mutual decision. She had to at least leave some dignity for herself in this house.
Hong Xin Rui saw that Lin Wen Xin had paid no attention to her command and immediately flew into a rage.
She looked at the servants and ordered them, “All of you will kneel down with your head on the floor until my breakfast is served by her!”
The servants stared at Lin Wen Xin with resentful eyes before they got down into the kowtow position.
Hong Xin Rui then crossed her arms and sat on the chair with arrogance.
Lin Wen Xin really did not want to bother with her but punishing the servants like this was really too much for her to take.
If she were to leave the dining room now, judging by Hong Xin Rui’s character, they might even have to continue kneeling for the rest of the day.
“Get them to stand up, and I will prepare for you.” Lin Wen Xin decided to agree to her request for the sake of the servants.
Even though they are employed here to work, they are still human beings and she felt that it is the employer’s responsibility to take good care of them and not exploit them like this.
However, Hong Xin Rui refused to let them go and even ridiculed her, “Well, it’s not up to you to tell me what to do.”
As soon as Lin Wen Xin heard that, she knew that Hong Xin Rui had fallen back on her words.
Lin Wen Xin then started to pack her things and walked out of the dining room, not wanting to deal with Hong Xin Rui since she was just being purely unreasonable.
As much as Hong Xin Rui is a difficult person to handle, Lin Wen Xin’s strong attitude is not easy to manage as well.
Though Lin Wen Xin is a tenacious woman, she would not hesitate to step in and help others even if it means putting herself at a huge disadvantage.
However, one thing she dislikes the most would be the other person disrespectfully withdrawing their initial agreement.
She would definitely not tolerate this!
Hong Xin Rui opened her mouth in shock as she could not believe that Lin Wen Xin had just walked away like this!!
Just before Lin Wen Xin was about to leave the room, she stopped in her tracks as she heard Hong Xin Rui yelling at the servants, “Go back to your work!”
Now that the original agreement had been fulfilled by Hong Xin Rui, Lin Wen Xin would also step up and do her part.
She went back to the kitchen to put on her apron and prepared the breakfast for Hong Xin Rui.
Nanny Liang who is in charge of all the workers in the house, had been silently observing the situation.
Ever since Lin Wen Xin had moved in, Nanny Liang had been noticing her kind personality and felt bad that she is being treated like this in the house.
But because she is merely a worker, she has no rights to intervene and could only helplessly watch on.
Lin Wen Xin brought out dishes after dishes and placed it in front of Hong Xin Rui.
“I want more of the brown cereals!”
“Bring me more of the fruits and peel every one of them!”
“I need more pastries - strawberry flavoured ones only!”
Each time Lin Wen Xin reached the table, Hong Xin Rui would order her to bring in another item.
Lin Wen Xin had already lost count of the number of times she had walked in and out of the kitchen.
Soon, the entire table was filled with the food that she has requested for.
“Clear my table and bring me a cup of hot coffee.”
Lin Wen Xin immediately got down to it and very quickly brought the coffee to her.
After she handed it over and walked away, she heard a loud scream from the back, “Ahhh!!...”
