Three months later.
Daniel spent the last three months trying to forget Yazahib and love Derek. He does everything for her, loves her, takes care of her and always protects her. Derek unlike Yazahib is not possessive, jealous or controlling. He's everything Daniel needs in a relationship, but still her heart was pounding every time she thinks of Yazahib. Why couldn't she forget him? Why doesn't she just love Derek as much as she loved Yazahib?
She is now expecting a child and should be happy with her boyfriend and her baby on the way. Her life rewarded her in the best way and she did not feel fully happy. Did she want that life with the man who left her for just a lie? Is that what she likes? A possessive and controlling man? Well, she would not blame herself for it, Yazahib loved her despite everything and only gave her one opportunity to show him her love and that demonstration is being true and she failed in that one opportunity.
"You shouldn't go to teach that class." Derek, who stayed in Daniel's apartment, looked into her eyes. She refused to live with him, she doesn't want to make the same mistake she made with Yazahib, she had to take things slow this time.
"Yes I can, and I want to give it," she smiled, "I can't leave my children alone. They like my classes.”
Derek sighed and hugged her and then placed a kiss on her neck, “good, but be careful. You're pregnant and you can hurt yourself if you don't take care of yourself.”
Daniel smiled and hugged him by the neck. He doesn't forbid her anything and she thanked him with all her heart, “okay handsome, I'll be very careful so that the baby is well," after giving him a kiss, she separated from him to fix her backpack, "Today we have the meeting with Mr. Hills? Why did he make it on a Saturday and not a Monday? ”Derek sighed.
"Because the topic we're going to touch on is let's say ... for fun." Daniel looked at him confused and Derek grinned. "It's for a benefit gala. Every year we do that. Didn't Yazahib speak to you about the gala?”
Daniel looked away and focused on the backpack, “no, he never told me about that." She put the backpack on her right shoulder and smiled as she looked at him. "I'll see you at the meeting then." She walked up to him and kissed him on the lips.
"I'll drop you."
Daniel denied, “no, it is very close and I want to walk, that is good for me. You better go to Hills,” after waving goodbye, Daniel left the room.
“Teddy,” Simone joined Daniel, “come on, I want to see those beautiful kids,” they both left the apartment.
Derek watched them leave and cursed. Yazahib was back and although Daniel always told him that she loves him, in his heart he knew that she still has feelings for Yazahib. Maybe not true, but he dislikes the idea of having Yazahib around her. He dislikes it so much that he couldn't tell Daniel that her ex-boyfriend is here.
Derek sighed and decided to meet with Hills, sooner or later he had to face his friend. He loves Daniel and did not think to hide it, he would fight for her even if it means fighting against his best friend.
"Sensei!" The girls ran to meet Daniel, she hugged them all.
"Hello my girls," she greeted them. The girls went to Simone to greet him too.
"Hello, precious ... I'm very happy to see you," Simone smiled. "Today I have a surprise for you." He looked at the girls and then at the moms. "Let's go to a McDonald's to have fun and celebrate our Sensei's birthday." Daniel looked at her friend wide-eyed, “I couldn't tell you anything Teddy, it's a surprise from the moms and me.”
Daniel this time looked at the women who were smiling, “it can't be ...you didn't have to do this."
"Don't worry, you're too good to our daughters," one of the mothers answered, "so after class we're going to have fun."
"Okay ..." Daniel agreed "I'll go change and I'll be right back" Daniel went to the showers to change clothes.
"Daniel" Sam stopped at the door after closing it "you shouldn't teach classes, you're pregnant."
Daniel sighed looking at her friend, "I don't have a big belly, and besides, I don't make an effort. I'll be careful, I promise.”
Samantha snorted and nodded with nothing else to do, “okay, happy birthday" she hugged her and gave her a kiss, "I'll go to give my classes, see you later" she said goodbye, leaving Daniel thoughtful, who was caressing her belly, still flat on her.
Derek on the other hand headed to the company where he would meet Frank before the others. When he got to the Hills office, he sat on one of the sofas to wait for him. Mr. Hills entered the office and looked at Derek, he had already spoken with Yazahib and was very angry at the news that Daniel and Derek gave him.
“Derek,” he greeted him when he looked at him, “I was talking to Yazahib, he just left,” Derek just nodded to that information, “and he's very angry.”
Derek looked at him and frowned, "he don't have to be angry. He left Daniel alone, helpless and suffering. Besides, she would be mine from the start and he got in the middle. I'm just giving her the love he denied her by leaving.”
Frank looked at the man in front of him and nodded, “but Yazahib didn't know you loved her, he just left to think things over. Daniel lied to him and he felt mocked by what she did to him,” he sighed deeply, “listen to me boy, you are friends for a long time and you deserve to talk.”
“Frank, we both know that he doesn't want to see me,” Derek ran his hand through his red hair, "I wanted to explain that Daniel and I happened a month after he left, I wanted to explain to him that I never wanted them to separate, that I really love her and he just hit me.”
Frank looked at him for a few seconds, he should be grateful that he didn't kill him, “well, today at the party that we are giving Daniel, he is going to be there." Derek tensed when he heard it "Derek, he is willing to go back to her. If you really love her you must fight and very hard, we know Yazahib loves her like no woman.”
Derek felt intimidated but he ignored it, “she is with me and I will not leave her, I will fight for her if I have to fight."
Frank smiled at his determination, “well, I hope you didn't tell Daniel the reason for this meeting."
Derek smiled and shook his head, “she thinks it’s for work, I lied to her and she'll be really mad about it." Both men laughed at how she would react.
"Well, in that case, you should ask God not to be so angry." They laughed again, but Derek was worried about Yazahib's presence, he knew that Daniel still felt things for him and was afraid of losing her.
