Shawn's POV:
I asked the same prosecutors I threatened to get my dad in prison to release him, I felt humiliated when I did so. I was so angry that I kept imagining killing my dad; I wanted to practice the scene in my head. I waited for him to get out of prison; he eventually appeared from behind the gate.
"I can tell from your face that you can't even wait to go elsewhere, you can shoot me here if you want," he ridiculed.
"Get in the car," I ordered.
I was taking him to the nearest excluded place which was the warehouse across the prison, we accessed it and I parked my car. Just when I was ready to shoot him, a lot of bodyguards came in running towards me, I didn't give a shit about it and still aimed at my father. To my surprise, he was carrying a gun himself.
How did he get a gun? How did he even contact his men in prison when he can only contact one person a day and that was me, I wondered.
"You must be perplexed by now, I was released, and do you think I really would be held with such weak pieced of evidence? I wanted you to think that way to get you at your weakest state,"
"Our relation fell apart when you decided to choose that girl over me, Shawn. I will have to get rid of both of you," he continued.
The bodyguards tried to tie me up, I fought them as hard as I can but they outnumbered me. They hit me on the head and the next thing I know is that Gerald called Lily to come and die in front of my eyes before he finishes me as well.
"I will do whatever you want so just leave her alone,"
"You won’t be able to obey me anymore; you weren't when you were ten if you think about it... We are destined to this day. You are just like your mother, you might think what pushed me to kill her was her parents but actually, she was pressuring me before she was even kidnapped,"
"Don't tell me,"
"Yeah, I am the one who orchestrated her kidnapping, to begin with,"
"Filthy piece of shit," I shouted trying to hit him with my leg but in vain. He gagged me leaving me unable to speak.
How could he be this cruel, fear took over my mind when I spotted Lily coming in. Thankfully I had a plan B just like my dad had, as I said before, he might be more experienced than me but I outsmart him.
When I was looking for Lily, I met with Jack in order to know where Lily might be hiding. He begged me to let him meet her for the last time, he wanted just to say goodbye to her before leaving for good. I agreed to his request and asked him to be my trump card; he was ready to do whatever I asked from him and I needed a man that is not under my dad’s watch.
I ordered him to wait for my orders, after Lily's kidnapping, he was instructed to wait in this warehouse in case things went south, he should kill Gerald instead of me. My assistant was busy looking for Lily and my men, unfortunately, can't be fully trusted. If I have ordered them to come with me, the orders might be leaked to Gerald's men. He was my only option at the moment.
Thankfully, he did what he was asked for, I can't let him die like that though, I need to fulfill my promise to him. I ran after Gerald's men trying to catch up with them.
"Wait," I yelled before they shoot him. They all turned around looking my way.
"Who do you think you are glaring at, mother fuckers?"
"Your new boss would be me if you haven't noticed yet, Gerald's dead, you should recognize your new master by now," I clarified.
Their head took a step forward and got on his knees...
"Please take care of us from now on, master," he said. The rest followed his lead and did the same. I walked up to Jack and helped him stand up.
"Nice shoot there, it is from only ten meters away and from a blind spot but you still did a great job,"
It was my first time witnessing him smiling at someone other than Lily, his smile was not that bad, and I actually owe him now. I turned around as I heard someone is running behind us.
"Shawnn..."
Her angelic voice was enough for me to forget about anything and everything, she managed to pull me out of the worst mood ever to the best one. I slowly looked her way and opened my arms wide open signaling her to take rescue in my body.
She passed the bodyguards and threw her body sticking it to mine, she cried a river thanking god that I am okay.
"Didn't I ask you to wait for me in the car?" I asked not wanting to let her out of my grip.
"I was worried," she replied shyly.
"There's nothing to worry about anymore, you are safe, nothing would harm you now,"
"Enough with the hug already, Lily," Jack said as he showed up from behind my back pouting at us.
"Jack? What are you doing here?" she questioned perplexed.
"He is my joker," I laughed.
Lily understood what I meant, she was one to pick up on things quickly, one of the numerous qualities she had.
"Thanks," she started heading towards jack to hug him as well.
I grabbed her from the sweater she was wearing tugging her backward forcefully; I closed the distance between our faces.
"What do you think you are doing?" I asked.
"Oh, I am sorry, I just wanted to thank him, silly me," she chuckled, her smile made me forgive her at once. Just when I started to hate less this boy, Nah... I can't even get myself to like him.
"Let us go back home," I commented.
"Not home... Hospital," Lily replied.
"Hospital?"
I saw from afar two cars approaching, one was my secretary's, and the other had Kenny as its driver. They stepped out of the car heading our way, after checking up on us, Kenny looked at Lily in cold-blooded eyes.
"I got your message," he said.
