Shawn's POV:
I know that beating the man inside the van for facts was useless; I checked my phone waiting for a phone call. Her brother looked my way as if he understood why I stood in silence; he seemed to wait for the same phone call.
My phone rang as expected, I had already sent my men to look up CCTVs and check all of the vans' locations but I knew better than anyone that this will not work because it will take us a lot of time that we do not have.
"Do you miss me?" Gerald asked from the other side of the line.
"Out of bail?"
"No, but you will get me out soon," as Gerald was saying that sentence, my assistant informed me that his case would go to court.
"I see that Siergo's betrayal didn't really get you anywhere," I ridiculed.
Before Tony called me to inform me about Lily's coming back and her flight, I received a call from my men at Siergo's house. I was told that the doctor has been killed and that Siergo kicked them out by force. Later when my assistant went to see what happened, we discovered that Siergo visited him and struck a deal with him.
I was pretty mad because he also promised him to bring him some men to sacrifice imprisonment for his sake confessing that whatever Gerald has done was their doings. The wall I was building was starting to break block by block. I was trying to think about how I could get out of this situation when I was suddenly hit by the good news.
I rushed to the airport but could not keep the smile on my face for long.
"Is that the best thing you could think about? Kidnapping Lily?" I added when I did not hear his reply.
"As I taught you, Shawn. You would never be able to surpass me if you didn't use the same means I am using, good never prevail, you should learn that by now," he pointed out.
"Are you fuckin giving me a lesson? I am getting you out of there, but don't expect to live for long,"
I was at my limit; I did not even want to imagine what would happen to Lily if I did not move quickly.
"I will be waiting..." Dad commented before hanging up.
"What did he tell you?" a voice arose pulling me out of my thoughts.
"You are Kenny, right? Lily's brother?"
"Yeah, I am,"
He did not seem surprised when I was confirming his identity with him, I guess he is experienced.
"Don't worry, we will get her in an hour or two maximum, I will let my father out of prison and then get her back,"
"You can work on that; I will help your assistant and look for my sis,"
Every one of us went his way; I put a gun in my pocket as I started the engine to go speak with the prosecutors. This night, I will commit murder for the first time in my life, if he wants to fight this dirty then I will play along.
Lily's POV:
I woke up chained to a chair; I was gagged and blindfolded so I could not look around me. I could feel that there are two men in the room standing next to me though. I did not bulge since I did not want them to know I am awake yet.
I heard the door crack; a man entered the room and judging from his voice. It was Siergo...
"Surprised?" he asked me after he removed the piece of cloth hiding my eyes.
"Oh right, you can't speak like that," he grinned devilishly as he removed the gag as well.
"I am not surprised since I never trusted you to begin with," I explained.
"Ouch that hurts," he faked being hurt upon hearing what I said. I earnestly want to cut him into a million pieces right now, that motherfucker. He ordered his men to leave the room.
"Now that we are alone, shall we speak honestly?"
I looked at him clueless not understanding what he wants to get at.
"You have attracted my attention, Gerald has instructed me to kill you even after he gets released. Why don't you ask me to save you?"
"I am afraid that Shawn would kill me if I asked for your help," I forced a tear to fall.
"Don't worry, I will take good care of you poor thing," he replied as he wiped my tear.
"I am cold," I cried.
Siergo freed my arms, he ordered his men to get me something to eat. When he turned around to look at me, little did he know that he would be hit by a brick to his face. He fell to the ground; I pulled the gun out of his pocket and shot the legs of the two bodyguards standing by the door.
I took their guns before they could use them and ran as fast as I can to the car I stole its keys and started the engine. I drove away from the storehouse I was being held in. I did not have my phone on me and I did not know where I was. I could not stop though; I do not want them to catch up with me.
I kept driving until I spotted a local phone booth, I stepped out of the car and dialed the only number I know, it was an excluded area and there was no one to help me so I thought of calling this number.
"Hello, dad, this is me Lily," I said.
"Are you the phone owner's daughter?" a female voice replied instead.
"Yeah, where is he?" I asked slightly worried.
"I am sorry to inform you that your dad has been hospitalized, he was found unconscious and was brought to the hospital, there were no contacts on his phone so we could not call anyone,"
"What... What... What fuckin hospital... Where are you?" I stuttered.
"We are Golden hospital located downtown,"
I looked around me and spotted a sign.
"Do you know where XXX is? Can you tell me how to reach the hospital from there?"
"Yeah give me a second,"
I rode my car after getting the address from her; she described to me how to exactly reach the hospital,"
I was driving and my vision was blurry, I did not even have the time to react to this news and cry. I had to go there as quickly as I can.
