“Miss. It’s already lunchtime. Please leave those papers first to eat your meal. Master ordered that you need to take your meals on time without being late for a second,” Thraia said while her head was bent down.
“You don’t need to bow your head, Thraia. Also, Reign is not here. It’s okay to take late meals. I’ve been used to it before I entered Goriy,” I said and focused on the papers in front of me.
“You can do it later, miss.”
“I will eat later.”
“I will not leave this room if you are not with me.”
“Okay, Thraia. I will eat once I finished proofreading these papers. If you resist for me to eat lunch, can you accompany Russiana first? I will follow after fifteen minutes.”
With that, Thraia nodded her head and march out of my room. After she left, I let out a deep sigh and lean my back on the chair. I stared at the papers in front of me. It’s a clinical narrative report about my actual nursing practice.
It’s been three months since I flee from Goriy Island. The last time Reign and I were together, it gives me extreme chest pain, especially the last words that came out of his mouth.
“Goodbye,” I muttered. Reign was like saying a permanent farewell that time. I bent down and covered my face with my hands to suppress myself; sadness was building inside me again. I was like this every time Reign’s last words lures into my mind.
Three days after I was out of the Island, I manage to go to University. I was nervous because of being unattended for the past months. I have a great time of absence, but the University said that everything is fine when I reached it.
I don’t know what they’re referring to, but I haven’t howled anymore. Only one thing entered my mind during those times; Reign did something about why the University was fine with the tremendous amount of time I was absent.
They just gave a memorandum for my standalone training in the main hospital in the City for two months and asked me to make a ten-page narrative report about my training. I have been given three weeks to utilize everything.
Thanks to the clinical training and making this narrative report, it lessens my thoughts about Reign. Adding my shift on the Bar, I was back on the spot as a waitress, which I carefully kept from the university I was attending.
It wasn’t allowed for a student like me to work at a Bar especially, about my field, but I have no choice. I can’t afford to let go of being a waitress at G and R Bar because the salary is good, and I need money for Russiana’s upcoming surgery.
When I was back in the City, I received an email from my sister’s doctor, and they said that the operation will take a month. They did not mention the payment guidelines in the email, but I still need to save enough money for the hospital fees and other expenses.
It’s Saturday, and I have a duty in the BarBar at six in the evening since it’s the weekend. I need to manage my time on weekdays since my class schedule will end at seven in the evening, and my bar shift was nine-thirty.
I adjusted my seating and started evaluating and reviewing these papers in front of me again. Within two days, I have to pass it on. While holding the piece, Reign really inevitably entered my mind. The sudden thoughts are like a mushroom without getting me spare.
How is Reign? What could have happened to him? Is he safe? It’s been three months, but I received no news from him. I also ask Thraia, but she doesn’t know because she left the Island with me. She also becomes Russiana’s guardian here in the apartment if I was out at the school or my part-time job; this apartment was small, but it fits the three of us.
Thraia was holding a black credit card, and it was unlimited money inside that card. She tells me three months ago that I no longer have to work to earn money or provide for necessities. She even offered us to change place, more prominent and comfortable.
When I asked where that credit card was from, I refused when it was from Reign. Yes, Reign loves me, and I love him too, but I don’t want to improve my life. I want to work hard and used my sweat to earn money. With that, Thraia left with my choice and did not contradict.
I also want to ask Thraia about Gau Clan, but she doesn’t know enough about them. All I know is that they were Reign’s enemy.
I sigh and bit my lower lips when another thing came inside my mind, remembering the night where I give my whole to Reign, the man I love for the first time. I felt strange inside my body, and embarrassment flows while I was flustered.
“I miss him,” I mumbled. I glanced at the side of the table and immediately reached for the phone placed on it. This is the phone Thraia gave me. I opened it and a picture of me greeted. I have many more questions for Reign.
“He will be back on my arms. Whole and safe.”
After I ate lunch, I immediately back myself to work on the progress of my clinical narrative report. I didn’t even notice that the time flows too fast, and when I glance at the phone’s clock, one hour already left for me to prepare for my shift in the BarBar.
I stretch my body and put down the papers. After tidying my table and organize the documents, I get out of the room holding a towel and walk directly to the bathroom.
I saw Thraia and Russiana sitting on the sofa inside the mini living room of this apartment. They were watching television. I was astonished when we returned to this apartment; there’s already a television, refrigerator, and a gas-operated oven stove combination.
Is this what Russiana says that they bought everything she wanted? My sister has wanted to have these household types of equipment for a long time, but I can’t afford them. I’m saving money for her medicine.
Reign was doing too many things for me.
“Are you preparing for your duty, miss?” Thraia asked. Russiana also looked in my direction. I gently nodded, “Would you like me to escort you?”
“Thank you, but I can handle it, Thraia. I’ve been working there for years, and no need to escort me.”
Thraia nodded and did not speak, “Shower well, Ruru!”
“Thanks, sweety.”
After, I quickly went to the bathroom and immediately took a shower. I wasted no time and ended it. I don’t want to be late for work. When I finished dressing myself up, I left the house after saying goodbye to Russiana and Thraia.
When I got out of the apartment, I quickly made my way to my place of work. It’s only a thirty-minute walk to get there and a bit close to my home. I have forty minutes left and enough time if I walk. I’ll leave the five minutes on wearing the bar uniform.
While walking on the side of the road and between the roaring sound of the cars, I couldn’t believe I was back in the City. I remember then how I wanted to leave Reign’s place. But now, I want to go back. To be with Reign’s side and bring back the things that happened.
But I knew that would never happen again. Even so, hopefully, Reign will come back to me. He will come here and tell me that he is safe from the dispute I left three months ago.
I still have questions, and I will ask him when the time comes for us to be together again. There are also a lot of things I want to do with him. I know it’s obscene for a woman like me to think this, but I want to repeat the night where Reign and I became one.
I stopped walking and took a deep breath. When Reign returns, I will first pour myself into working and studying until that time comes. Formulate and organize the things I want to ask the person I love.
I took another deep breath and, at the same time, clearing my mind of things. I gently grabbed my chest as I straightened my eyes on the road. I started walking again but immediately stopped to see the giant statue standing in the middle of the wide road.
I smiled. It was a statue saying that I was inside this City. I never welcomed myself before.
