Mercenary’s War Chapter 75

75: Chapter 74 Arms Dealer 75: Chapter 74 Arms Dealer Gao Yang had no objections to buying a few good guns, the only question was where to buy them. Gao naturally placed his hopes on Abdul, as he figured that with Abdul’s capabilities, buying a few guns should be an easy task. But before he could speak up, Glolov said, “I’ll make a call first. If we’re lucky, I think we can get the guns very soon.” Discovering that Glolov had a connection, Gao didn’t bother Abdul, and Glolov simply made a phone call, spoke briefly in Russian, and then quickly hung up. Gao, puzzled, asked, “Have you already made contact? Are we going there to pick up the guns?” Glolov shrugged and said, “We’ll just wait here; someone will deliver them to us.” Gao had left quite a few things with Abdul, and while waiting for the delivery, he donned all the gear he needed. However, his pistol ammunition had already been low, and after the night battle in Benghazi, only three magazines and twenty-one bullets were left. Gao needed to replenish his ammo, but there was still plenty of M1A ammunition, which was absolutely enough for precision shooting. Cui Bo was to act as the sniper, and although his level wasn’t high enough yet, the Remington M700 he was most familiar with was in his hands, so Cui Bo could only assume the sniper role for now. However, Gao felt that given time, he definitely needed to get Cui Bo to practice his shooting properly. If Cui Bo could indeed take on the sniper role, then all was well. But if not, he would have to find another suitable role, as warfare couldn’t be dictated by interests. As for Li Jinfang, he was very familiar with the role of a firepower assault trooper, and when purchasing weapons, it would suffice to follow his requirements. Glolov, of course, was still the machine gunner, so buying his weapon was the easiest—it had to be a machine gun. Glolov had been using his RPD for a long time, but last time in Benghazi, to lighten the load, Gao and Cui Bo discarded Glolov’s RPD that had run out of ammunition. The loss of his beloved gun had left Glolov sulking for a long time, and he had been fixated on buying himself another RPD. After all the preparations were complete, Gao and the other three took Abdul’s car and drove to an intersection not far from Abdul’s residence. Then they waited in the car for the gun delivery. After all, Gao and Cui Bo were now fully armed, and wandering around in public with guns would easily cause unnecessary trouble. Now, they were just waiting to get the guns and then head straight to Brigade 32’s military barracks. After waiting in the car for over half an hour, Glolov saw a box truck approaching and said in a low voice, “Here they come. You guys stay in the car until I signal you to come out.” Glolov got out of the car and waved to the truck parked on the side of the road; shortly after, a Caucasian man got down from the truck and hugged Glolov. The two men talked for a while, then Glolov motioned for Gao and his crew to come over. Gao Yang, Cui Bo, and Li Jinfang approached Glolov, who pointed to the man beside him and chuckled, “Allow me to introduce you to the most professional arms dealer in the world, my fellow countryman, Uriyangko.” Uriyangko was a middle-aged man in his forties, donning a crisply tailored black suit and spotless, shining leather shoes. His brown hair was combed back slickly and he possessed a face that could be described as handsome. His beard was shaved very cleanly, giving him the air of a successful businessman. Gao Yang felt Uriyangko would be more at home on Wall Street than in war-torn Libya. After warmly shaking hands with Gao Yang and the other two, Uriyangko took out several business cards with a beaming smile and said, “Very pleased to meet the three of you, and I am delighted to offer you my services. Here are my business cards. Should you need anything in the future, please call the number on the card. I can provide you with any service.” Cui Bo and Li Jinfang couldn’t understand English and did not react much to Uriyangko’s words, simply nodding and tucking the business cards away. Meanwhile, Glolov turned to Gao Yang with a smile and said, “He’s right, whatever you want, he’s your guy. He can provide any service, so be sure to keep his card safe. The only problem with this guy is, his charges are too high.” Uriyangko burst into laughter and remarked, “Compared to the high-quality services I provide, my charges are not expensive at all. These days, business is too difficult, so how could I dare to let my customers feel shortchanged? Alright, gentlemen, in consideration of Glolov here, I will give you all a ten percent discount on any future business.” Gao Yang also laughed and said, “Thanks a lot, now let’s take a look at your goods.” Uriyangko nodded repeatedly and replied, “Of course, of course. But, before you select your items, it’s necessary for me to explain my service range to my new clients. Our company provides all military equipment, and I mean all, whether you need firearms and ammunition, defense personnel, or high-end custom items, our company can supply them at a low price. If you need large items, like planes, tanks, or missiles, please place your orders at least two months in advance. Of course, for smaller items like anti-aircraft missiles and anti-tank missiles, no reservation is needed. As long as you confirm your purchase and reach an agreement with us, we will deliver the goods to you within a week at most, though this only applies within Africa since I’m only in charge of the business here.” Gao Yang grinned and said, “Isn’t that a bit over the top?” Uriyangko didn’t respond to Gao Yang’s comment but continued smiling and said, “Additionally, our company provides all the services a mercenary might need, including logistical support, medical coverage, battlefield rescue, and even funeral arrangements. I hope you’ll forgive my forwardness, but as mercenaries, it is quite essential to provide for one’s final journey.” Glolov shrugged at Gao Yang’s incredulous face and commented, “You have to believe what he says because he really can deliver. It’s just that his services are so expensive they could make the dead rise from their graves. So, I think, at least for the short term, we can’t afford the services he offers.” After finishing his words, Glolov turned to Uriyangko with a smile and said, “With Libya being so hot right now, your business must be booming.” Uriyangko pulled a face, looking helpless as he replied, “If it were anyone else asking, I wouldn’t say, but since it’s you, I have to tell the truth. The people coming here to fight are all penny pinchers. They’d rather take their money to the grave than provide a little extra security for themselves. I can only say my business is tough. Apart from selling arms, I’ve got no other business to attend to. So, my boss is considering dropping the service side to let me focus just on the arms trade, but as you know, it was my idea to offer services. I can’t help feeling very unwilling to let it go just like that. Anyway, let’s not talk about this now. I’ll show you what I’ve got.”
