Angel's pov:
Slicing some vegetables in the kitchen, I noticed someone entered inside but I ignored the presence and proceeded with what I was doing while murmuring to music in my head. I felt someone tap me from behind and that's when I stopped what I was doing and quickly turned around.
"Susan!....." I unbelievably uttered her name.
"Yes, that's my name," she rolls her eyes at me, "Here you are and I have been looking for you all over the place….." She seems annoyed. I wasn't surprised because we never get along.
"Why are you looking for me because the last time I checked I didn't owe you anything to make you come find me," I suspiciously stared at her.
"Whatever, you have all people know that I have something tangible to do with my time other than to come looking for you," she mockingly glared at me.
"I hope so…." I mumbled before turning to continue what I was doing before her next word caught me off guard.
"What!....." I shockingly exclaimed. Hearing that name sends a terrifying chill down my spinal cord.
"Yes, Miss Nengi seeks for your presence now in her chamber," she devilishly smirked, seeing my horrified state. She isn't any different from her madam but what do I expect when she is working under the demon daughter day and night.
"Why is she looking for me?" My lips shuddered as I desperately asked her.
"That you will know once you reach there, besides only God knows what you did this time around," she scowls before turning to her heels to leave.
Stopping on her track, she unhurriedly turned "And I am sure you don't want to keep her waiting…." Her words sound in my ear like if you wish to still be alive you better not make her wait for you for long. Leaving everything behind, the kitchen unkempt I quickly followed her behind. I prayed that it is not about the secret passage, I just hope that Mira didn't say anything to her. Battling to calm myself down as I plead for the moon goddess to come to my rescue. It is those who don't know Nengi too well that won't panic when summoned by her, she is a demon and too deadly to tamper with. I always wonder how Susan does cope with her, despite her acting all strong and tough I know that she was not happy working for her. If not that I have caught her on several occasions crying her eyes out in the omega's bathroom I will say that she is Nengi's blood sister because they behave the same except that Nengi is gamma when Susan is an omega.
Trying to catch up with her footsteps I noticed a figured boring hole at my back from a distance. I couldn't endure the unsettling gaze I turned around only to be met with those crystal blue eyes, my role model, the girl that showed me how special and unique I am. The only girl that believed in me when others left me, was Mira, the girl that took me as her sister. She stared at me with pity and pain, and we kept staring at each other before Susan's venomous tone jerked me back to reality.
"Walk fast you are drawing me back," she complains. Disconnecting my eyes from her I continued my walk, I am still mad at her. How could she not tell me that Derrick was her mate? After my close observation and thinking, I found out. I know that she will be going through a lot of being married to Nicholas and mated to Derrick, this is ridiculous, how could the moon goddess? I wonder what she is passing through but why couldn't she tell? Didn't she trust me enough to share her problems with me? She called me her sister but her actions didn't say the same, I am mad at her for so many reasons! For being mated to my number one crush, hiding the truth from me, despite knowing how I like Derrick, and finally not letting me in to share her pain with her. Is that why she is always possessive whenever I expressed my feelings for Derrick? What a world, my moment was interrupted by a familiar tone.
"Where are you taking her to?" She glares at Susan who wants to roll her eyes but shrinks back when she stares at her cold face, Mira.
"Miss Nengi requests for her presence," she submissively mumbled.
"Why……" Mira asked with annoyance in her voice.
"That… that I don't know," she answered.
"She won't be coming with you," she declared.
"Ehh!!......" Both of us gaped at her with surprise as fear and panic kicked into us. What is Mira doing? Does she know what she is doing? Nengi won't find it funny if she finds out. I can't allow this to happen. Susan is pleading for Mira to please allow me to go with her.
"Go tell her that I said so…. And make sure that my message reaches her," Mira uttered.
"I will be going…." I muttered all of a sudden, taking her by surprise.
"What!...." Mira shockingly stared at me.
"Thank you! ….." Susan expressed. Her sudden attitude took me by surprise. She has never appreciated someone before or shown gratitude. Her attitude made me understand that she would go through hell if I didn't show up with her.
"You will go nowhere……" Mira persists.
"I need to go….." I also insist. This continued for a while as Susan kept staring at us as if we both had lost it.
"Please….." I finally mumbled after hours of arguing, I just hope that this will melt her heart.
"Angel, do you know what you are doing?" She asked me with a concerned look.
"Yes…. Please allow me to follow her to Nengi's chamber," I uttered. I appreciate her caring nature, it shows that she still cares for me.
"Fine….." She muttered after hours of battling within herself.
"Thank you….." Both me and Susan said in unison. Taking a step away from her, she held me by my hand before I could walk past her, making me stop in my tracks before she quietly whispered "I hope you know what you are doing…….
