"Why am I doing this again?" Isabella stares blankly at herself through the mirror as her aunt puffs out her dress for like the tenth time.
"Because I say so."
"I don't want to do this, aunt." Isabella says as she shakes her head in mortification. She can barely remember how she got into this dress. "Just tell him."
Her aunt covers up her mouth immediately and gives her an evil glare. "Shut up, Isabella. The walls have ears, I don't want them to find out."
Isabella rolls her eyes. She really can't believe that she's doing this.
"If this turns out to be a full blown party for me, I'm going to be really mad."
"Don't worry, it won't." Her aunt assured her so Isabella decides to take her word for it.
Outside of the castle and in the forest, the werewolves gather around tables, mumbling things between themselves or eating and drinking.
They recently found out that Princess Isabella is actually mated to a god. Some are envious, mostly the females while some are just happy to have a feast.
Nathan can sense all the lustful and curious gazes on him but he pays them no mind as he watches Isabella slowly walk towards him and seat on the ceremonial seat prepared just for them.
Isabella can feel his eyes on her but even in her sudden embarrassment she leans towards him and whispers. "This almost looks like a real human wedding."
A human wedding? Nathan thinks. Well, he is glad it came off like that since she knows how much she loves that.
"I'm guessing that's a good thing?" Nathan asks in a whisper.
"Well yeah, what else were you thinking." Isabella rolls her eyes. She doesn't notice this but this grabs a lot of the crowd's attention to her.
They have never seen the princess so carefree with anyone other than her family and close friends. Some of the werewolves had their reservations about this whole mating with a god thing but it seems like they are really mates.
A princess and a god, now that is something to be proud of. They can't wait to tell the other kingdoms about this feat.
It takes a while for Nathan to finally notice that most of the werewolves are staring at them smiles, very wide smiles.
However, Isabella remains oblivious to this as her eyes remains on her fingers as she plays with them with keen focus.
As micheivious as Nathan is, he decides to give the crowd a little show.
"You know that you look extremely beautiful in that dress, I can't wait to peel it off you tonight."
Isabella's eyes widen and she covers his mouth immediately but he has already spilled out everything. Small gasps fills the air, the music stops immediately but Isabella still doesn't notice.
She's too busy whispering and at the same time yelling at her mate.
"What's wrong with you. You can't say that in front of werewolves, they have super hearing, what if someone heard you." She reprimands.
He raises an eyebrow at her.
Really? How is it that she doesn't notice the number of eyes on her right now. On a normal occasion she doesn't let anything pass by her unnoticed.
Nathan opens his mouth to say something to her about this before the king- and Isabella's uncle steps into view.
The festivities and so on starts but no one can put a finger on the event that's about to happen, well only a few people know about that.
As everyone takes turns to congratulate Isabella and Nathan, the king gets a hold of a microphone and steps on the podium, gaining everyone's attention with a few gestures.
"I'd like to announce that I am officially retiring and stepping down." He says.
In Isabella's mind, she views this speech as a something a business man would say. Her uncle is really something else but for some other reason she has a hunch that it was her aunt who told him to say it that way; just as it was her aunt who planned this charade.
"So today, I am officially passing down my crown to my first born child-"
Isabella grins and tries to catch Ronald's eyes from where she is; however, her cousin doesn't seem to care.
He is too busy stuffing his face with food and for a moment he looks kind of a little bit sad. Poor Ronald.
"and my only son, Ronald."
Isabella can see the shock on Ronald's face very clearly as he takes a pause on his eating while the crowd shouts and cheers him on.
It was obvious to him that the throne would go to Isabella; he always thought that was the case but here Isabella is, been beckoned to take his father's place. It's almost like a dream.
Perhaps, it is a dream. If it is then he wishes to never wake up from this particular dream because it is really good.
Soon, the festivities end and a new day begins with a new king seated on the werewolf kingdom's throne.
All hail the King. All hail King Ronald.
Isabella and Nathan retire to their room and this time they actually sleep in the same bed very willingly and on their own accord.
She is really starting to accept this mate thing.
'Thats what you always say, Isabella.' Her wolf huffs in her head. 'I'm getting tired of it.'
Shut up, Heather.
'But I want to snuggle with our mate too.'
Maybe later.
'I want it now!'
Please shut up, my head is starting to hurt.
'Well, that's a good thing.'
