Marriage Prison Chapter 42

Davina was in shock, still unable to accept reality. Her body felt unusually weak, and memories of Amaira flashed through her mind. How the girl laughed, was always cheerful and also a true friend who could not be forgotten! Davina held back her tears, Amaira... she called out softly. Why, why did it come to this? "Take me to the university!" Davina asked, as Jagad just stared silently. Davina's breathing was ragged, looking at the situation inside. The hot air seemed to envelop the room. Davina finally pulled Jagad's burly hand, until they were in the garage. The place where Jagad's car was parked. " Hurry up, open the door," Davina ordered, her voice shaking violently. Her eyes glazed over, Jagad had guessed, this was something Davina didn't expect. Amaira's death had hit her hard. And now, Davina knew who actually killed Amaira. Her world seemed to shatter, and the air around her seemed to run out. Not yet in the car, Davina sobbed, gradually becoming hysterical. Her chest was so tight, it was sad to lose someone close. At first, glance, when she was in the car, Davina looked at Jagad. Wanting to ask Jagad a lot, but all that came out of Davina's mouth was. "Why? Why?" Then, only a mumble came out of Davina's mouth. Jagad himself did not understand the meaning. Jagad did not answer anything, his forehead wrinkled. Then, he didn't think too much about what Davina said. Jagad then deftly took care of his sister, who was fragile, crying like a lost person. When Davina was already in the car, Jagad fastened the seat belt. He offered her a drink to calm her down. "Want a water first?" Davina's reaction was incomprehensible to Jagad. Her sister's hand stretched out, accepting the bottle of drink that Jagad gave her. But not drinking it right away, Davina thought she couldn't do anything with her mouth but cry-which was still like a storm. Jagad turned on the car, not saying anything. Throughout the trip, Davina was still crying. Because he couldn't bear it, Jagad didn't drive his sister to campus, because it would be useless. If she studied, maybe Davina wouldn't focus. Davina, who was still sobbing, of course, didn't understand the destination. Jagad decided to take a detour to the hospital where he practiced. "Now I'm just sorry for my attitude of hating Danas," Davina wailed while sobbing in the car. Jagad only glanced at Davina without responding. His free hand occasionally rubbed Davina's back to calm her down a little. Jagad knew that his sister felt so guilty about Danas. The congested streets of the capital allowed Jagad to calm Davina down, hugging her for a moment. " It's done, don't look at the past, you've got to look at the future." Davina nodded slowly, Jagad offered a tissue box to wipe her sister's tears. Those beautiful eyes were now puffy, her nose red. The hospital where Jagad practiced was not far away. The man pulled the handbrake once he reached the hospital parking lot. Davina was still sobbing. Slowly, Jagad opened the door on the side where Davina sat. "Put this on," Jagad said, draping a jacket over his sister's head to cover her face. "Why?" "Do you want people to think I'm torturing you? You're a mess and crying your eyes out." "We're brother and sister," Davina said, still sobbing, but she followed Jagad's words. Davina thought this was the best for her, so she let it go. The afternoon air was quite hot. Passing through the hospital corridor that is crowded with visitors. There were some eyes looking at Jagad who was carrying Davina-who was still sobbing. If you stand a little closer to Davina, you can hear her sobbing. Jagad was in a bad mood, even though he had covered Davina's face with his jacket. Still, her sobs could be heard. After a while Jagad was also worried, could he stop for a while? Jagad sighed and finally arrived at the room where he practiced. The nurse who was supposed to be in charge of helping Jagad saw from a distance, Jagad was about to enter. The nurse then hurriedly approached Jagad. "Doc, do you want it now?" she asked, the nurse's face seemed to ask, glancing at Davina who was carried by Jagad. And her cries sounded heartbreaking to anyone who "heard. "I'll tidy up the practice room first," she offered while taking out the door key. "No, leave me alone. There's my sister. Just according to the practice schedule," Jagad said wisely. "You can come to my room later. Give me the key." "Okay, Doc," the nurse replied, relieved too. She thought that Jagad would be practicing sooner or that there would be a visit to the treatment room. Jagad immediately entered his office, turned on the room lights. Then sat Davina on the chair. And let Davina sob. If only it was like a person losing consciousness, but now the storm has receded. Jagad rubbed Davina's back to make her sister calmer. "Everyone makes mistakes. So, you can rest easy tomorrow. Danas will definitely forgive you," Jagad said. Davina looked at Jagad, her eyes getting even puffier. "I know, Danas is actually a good person." The woman then fell silent. "Melvin is a jerk!" she said dreamily. The office was instantly silent, the rest of Davina's sobs audible. Jagad didn't say anything. He let Davina finish the rest of her sobs. It would make Davina relieved, and slightly erode her guilt. Davina wiped the last of her tears, she thought it would stop. So Jagad began to tell Davina the truth. "Why didn't you tell me the first time?" asked Davina, feeling even more guilty. "If only I knew earlier, maybe it wouldn't have been like this. And Danas..." "Davina, don't lament all these regrets. Everything has already happened." "But, I made a lot of mistakes with Danas. And now... she's sick because of me, right?" Jagad shook his head with a smile. If only Davina knew that Danas also sometimes asked about Davina's condition. "Danas is sick because he's too tired, and sometimes he eats late." Davina looked away, "Tsk. It must be because Melvin doesn't take good care of her." Danas currently hated Melvin. Indeed, Amaira was a good child. Davina had a hard time forgetting all of Amaira's kindness. Especially the memories of when they were together. "Wait a minute, so, that means, yesterday you were actually talking about Danas?" she guessed. Jagad then nodded, smiling. Davina sighed, her regret growing. "Can I ever make amends?" she asked, wailing. "Danas will definitely forgive you, Dav. Oh, and did you know that Renata is also Melvin's girlfriend?" Davina stared at Jagad, her eyes widening. "What?" Her breathing was ragged, the anger in her growing. "How could he..." she snorted, "How could he? What a jerk Melvin is!" cursed Davina, not accepting that Danas was indeed treated badly. Davina now understood what had happened. Now, the threads are connected one by one. Now Davina knew why Renata had stayed away from them. "So, the reason Renata has been avoiding us is that she's Melvin's girlfriend..." Davina's voice turned low. Relaxing her shoulders on the chair. "How is Danas now?" Davina asked again. She still felt guilty for letting Danas out alone, and in the rain. "I still feel guilty. Will Danas ever forgive me? What I did to Danas was very bad." "Rest assured, Danas will definitely forgive you." Jagad got up from his chair, now that Davina was better. So, Jagad wanted to prepare his equipment for her to practice later. Davina wiped her tears, seeing Jagad who began to pass by in her practice room. "Are you going to start practicing now?" asked Davina unpleasantly. "I will get out of this room if you want to start practicing." Jagad then turned to Davina. "No, I'm not. My practice hour is still an hour away." "Can I stay here first?" asked Davina not feeling good about Jagad. Even though the man was her own brother. "Heh, why are you still asking? What did we do earlier?" Jagad said while smiling kindly. "I-I'm afraid it will disturb your concentration in practice. Besides, I've been bothering you a lot all day," Davina whined. Jagad did not stop preparing. Jagad answered Davina's advances with just a smile, he was still checking some patient documents now on the computer. As well as checking incoming emails. There was the latest information about the world of medicine. Jagad read it carefully. Davina didn't make any sound anymore. Jagad then ordered Davina some food, coincidentally the nurse who usually helped in Jagad's room had arrived. Once again, the nurse glanced at Davina. "Doctor, the food," said the nurse. Then gave a package close to Jagad. "Thank you, Nurse," Jagad said politely. "Oh, yes, how are the patients who have to be visited? Are there any today?" "Still, Doc, but I've scheduled it in about thirty minutes." "Okay, then." Jagad glanced at Davina who was still sitting quietly. Without Jagad realizing it, Davina was also paying attention to what the nurse was doing.
