Marriage Prison Chapter 36

"Anyway, Jagad, don't go near her again if you don't want to get into trouble!" "Do you think your brother is a fool?" "Yes. But you'd be a foolish man to interfere with someone's marriage. Better stop liking her." Jagad was silent for a moment. "Stop liking her, okay?" "Yes, noisy! Don't get involved in any relationship with that woman. Ah, how about I find you a woman to go on a blind date with?" "No! No need. Don't do anything insane." Jagad immediately left his seat leaving Davina who was still having breakfast. Along the way to the hospital, Jagad was still thinking about his brother's words. "But, I'm already interested in her." Jagad's mind was crazy. He knew that he shouldn't be interested in Danas. That woman belonged to Melvin. However, he couldn't deny that he himself was interested. "Aarrgh... I'm going nuts. How could I be interested in a married woman? Jagad. You've got to realize, she's your best friend's wife." He was frustrated enough to even ruffle his hair while driving. He couldn't lie that Danas' charms really attracted him. She looked different from the girls he usually met. Arriving at the hospital. Jagad, as usual, checked the patient's condition from room to room. After that, he sat in his room to receive the incoming patients. "Doc. You don't seem to be in good spirits today?" One of the nurses commented on the look on Jagad's face. He didn't even realize that his face had been looking lackluster. "Really? I think it's just your feelings," Jagad retorted. "That's right, Doc. Didn't you meet the doctor's girlfriend yesterday? I must be missing her." The nurse tried to tease Jagad, making him smile. Missed, huh? "Well, right, what I say. The doctor must miss your girlfriend." "Hush. Don't say that. I can't possibly miss someone's wife," Jagad said, making the nurse on duty with him immediately purse her lips. "Someone's wife? She already has a husband, apparently." Seeing the look on his nurse's face made Jagad laugh softly. "Yes, she does. She's my friend's wife, so don't ever bring it up again, it could be a problem," Jagad said. "Stop, there's no need to discuss it anymore. Let's focus on our work. Give me today's patient data," said Jagad. "Is it true what you said, Doc? She has a husband?" Jagad nodded, confirming what the nurse had said. As the nurse was preparing the patient's documents, Jagad thought about what the nurse said earlier if she missed Danas. Was it possible that he missed Danas? H-how could that be? He knew that Danas was his best friend's lover. He should have dismissed that feeling. "Argh. I'm going nuts," Jagad grumbled. Several hours passed, and Jagad stretched his body after finishing the patient queue. "Oh, Shit. Why are there so many patients today," Jagad complained. "Are there any more patients, Dina?" asked Jagad, calling the name of the nurse on duty with him. "Nope. That was the last patient." "Ah, thank goodness. I can rest." "Can I buy you some coffee, Doc?" Dina asked. "Ah, okay. Don't sweeten it," said Jagad. A message came into his cell phone and Jagad immediately gave it to him. "Damn, this guy's the last one." "Ah, thank goodness. I can rest." Can I buy you some coffee, Doc?" Dina asked. "Ah, okay. Don't sweeten it," said Jagad. A message came into his cell phone and Jagad immediately gave it to him. "Damn, this boy. How can he send me messages like this every hour? Does he think I don't have a job, that I've to think about someone's wife," Jagad grumbled and replied to his brother's message but Melvin's message suddenly came in inviting him to lunch. He frowned, but he couldn't refuse his best friend's invitation. The typed message to be sent to Davina was undone by Jagad, he took his suit and went out. Dina, who had just returned from buying coffee for Jagad, saw the empty room, making her frown. "Where did Doctor Jagad go?" asked Dina. She glanced at the suit that Jagad used to wear and didn't find it hanging, she concluded that Jagad went out. Sure enough, Jagad sent her a message that he was out having lunch with his friend. "The doctor is always like that. How come he didn't tell me first," Dina complained. "So, who's going to drink this coffee? I can't possibly drink it," she added. Melvin, who was already at the restaurant, sat down casually, opened the menu book, and placed his order. "What's up, are you asking me to lunch?" Jagad reprimanded Melvin who had just given the menu book to the waiters. "Just wanna eat together. Is that not possible?" Jagad's brow furrowed. "You should go home and have lunch with your wife. Who knows, she made you lunch," Jagad said. He was addressing Melvin. "Can we not discuss that woman here?" Jagad looked sharply at Melvin. "Melvin, why don't you reinvestigate the Amaira death case?" That question made Melvin's face change. "Do you think something will change if I reinvestigate the Amaira case? Do you think the criminal will change?" "Yes. The outcome might be different." "The video shown by Renata is more than enough to let me know who Amaira's murderer is." "Including knowing about your wife and Amaira being friends with Renata?" Melvin was silent. He had never heard Renata mention that she was friends with Danas and Amaira. "How did you know that?" Jagad's sigh was heard. "Apparently you don't know if they were friends in high school," Jagad said quietly. "How did you hear that?" Jagad smiled. "Why don't you find out for yourself? I didn't wanna tell you for fear you'd misunderstand me. You can find out. Besides, your wife, Danas, and also Renata, there is one of their friends." The mention of his sister's friendship made Melvin unappetizing for lunch. "Hey, don't make that face. I don't wanna pay for this fairly expensive meal," Jagad commented seeing the look on Melvin's face. " Shit. I shouldn't have brought it up," Jagad grumbled to himself. "I didn't know that my sister was friends with Renata. Renata didn't tell me at all." "Have you forgotten, she once introduced us to her friends? There were four of them. I also only realized it after seeing your wife when she came to the company," Jagad half-lied. He wouldn't have told Melvin if he had just found out too. "I invited the playboy but he said he was busy so it was just the two of us," Melvin explained trying to change the subject. "He's in Indonesia? When is he coming back? "Didn't he tell you?" "No." "He's been in Indonesia for a week because the woman he was chasing didn't reply to his messages, so he came back quickly." "That guy, he only has women on his mind," Jagad commented. The orders were delivered one by one by the waiters. "Ah, you know if I want food like this. My salary is not enough to pay for the whole order, so you have to pay for it," Jagad said honestly. "If you're going to complain about your salary, you should follow what I say." Jagad just smiled. "I don't wanna be helped by you."
