"I hope Nathan has an extra napkin, because he's not going to stop drooling when he sees you." Tess says when I'm done brushing my hair.
I'm so glad I took her advice and went to the salon. My conditioned, silky straight hair is sweeping against my back, just where the crop top exposes my skin. My nails are manicured and I got the perfect "comfy and sexy" outfit combo.
The crop top presses against my breasts in a firm way, so I didn't need a bra and the black ripped jeans stop just above my ankles. Finally I put on my white sneakers and I grab my jacket and bag from my bed.
"I hope he likes it." I say, even though I'm pretty sure he will.
"Likes it? I hope he can take his eyes off you long enough to watch the road." Tess says just as I head for the door.
"HEY!" She yells when I place my hand on the door know and I turn around just in time to see her throw a small packet at me.
It takes me a while to realise that Tess just handed me condoms and I shake my head at her.
"Really?" I say with a laugh and she gives me a look.
"Don't do anything I would do. And that's a lot. But if you end up doing stuff, remember your left pocket." She says giving me a knowing smile and I stuff it in my bag as I leave the room, yelling,
"Not going to happen!"
NATHAN'S P.O.V
I wish I'd thought about my words before saying them.
I wish I'd not been so caught up in hearing Lunar's voice on the phone, that I used the words 'comfy and sexy.'
I wish I was prepared for how drop dead gorgeous she'd look, even without trying.
As she makes her way towards my car, I'm trying not to ogle so much but it's almost pointless.
She has a jacket slung lazily on her arm with her bag on one shoulder. Her thin waist, long heavenly legs and perfect butt seem to walk in harmony.
And that shirt.
Cropped, tight, and unforgiving while containing her full breasts. Yet casual.
She really brought it with the 'comfy and sexy' that's for sure.

LUNAR'S P.O.V
One more look from Nathan and I'll yank him across the space between us and start a kiss that won't end tonight.
"So where are we going?" I ask and Nathan looks at me briefly.
"To see a drive-in movie. At the park." He says.
"Are you serious?!" I'm squealing and he chuckles as he looks at me.
"I mean...yeah. cool. Whatever." I say sarcastically and he laughs now.
That laughter that's like hot chocolate on a snowy morning.
"I know it's been a tough week for you, and I wanted to take you to a place where you could relax, pig out on junk food and laugh your ass out. You deserve it." Nathan says and I can't help myself.
I lean across and plant a kiss on his cheek, letting it linger a bit.
"Thanks Nathan." I say softly and he looks at me, his green eyes soft.
For a second he looks like he wants to say something, but he just smiles and turns back to the road.
And I might never know what those words will be.

The movie showing at the drive-in is "Love and Other Drugs" and Nathan parks just as it begins.
"This is by far my best moment this semester. Well, that's excluding our surprise moments." I say as I turn to Nathan only to find him staring at me.
It can't be admiration I see in his eyes right?
For me?
"You're beautiful Lunar." He says with his deep voice, so low I can barely hear him.
But I do. Loud and clear.
And I'm so mesmerized by the sincere compliment that as Nathan slowly leans forward towards me, I remain still as he plants a kiss on my forehead.
"I'll be right back." He says and he is suddenly out the door. I take the few seconds of privacy to stop my pounding heart and leaping emotions.
Nathan returns with Styrofoam plates.
"I thought it'd be better to make it than buy." He says as he hands me one and I open it.
"Oh my God." I say as the aroma fills the air. It's chicken and waffles drizzled with warm spicy honey.
"You know if I didn't know you better, I'd suspect you're trying to win my heart through my stomach." I say and Nathan laughs as he hands me a soda.
"A girl with an appetite is always a catch." He says and winks at me.
For the rest of the movie, Nathan and I occasionally joke and laugh about almost everything and anything while enjoying the movie.
"Look at these two. Raw sexual tension, obviously. They're a second away from ripping their clothes apart." Nathan says as he takes a chug from his soda.
"What? No, I sense a more deeper tension. Like the need to understand themselves. " I say as I disagree with Nathan's logic about the characters in the cafe.
He looks at me with a dramatic shake of his head and I laugh.
"She is totally giving him fuck-me eyes."
"What's with guys and reading sex into everything?" I joke and he flicks my ear.
"Yeah right. Like girls aren't just dying with sexual craving under all that amour." He says and I turn to look at him with amusement.
"Sure, every girl that has coffee with a guy is just looking for an fast way to his bedroom." I laugh and he pulls out a 5 dollar bill.
"Ten bucks that they'll have sex in the next scene." He says and I drop my 5 dollar bill.
"And 10 bucks that they won't."
They did.
And Nathan made off with my five dollars and the funniest facial expression I'd ever seen.
We keep betting on the movie until Nathan has over 25 dollars and I've lost 15.
But my mind isn't on how much money I've lost, but his hand slowly massaging and gently caressing mine at the intersection where they meet.
With all the sexual scenes, it's hard to concentrate on the movie with Nathan touching me like that.
Especially with my back aching from the straight passenger seat. I wanted to feel his touch in mine without being distracted by any stupid ache.

Yet, within a minute I'm cuddled up next to Nathan in the warm car watching the movie from the back seat.
His hand is casually round my waist while I'm resting my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat while watching the movie and all I can think is...

"Ten bucks she'll say the L word first." Nathan says, carrying on with the betting like being in this position with me is normal.
Like I'm just...that. Normal Lunar on a normal outing with him.
But he'd specifically said the word date...hadn't he?
Does he not want to spend time with me or he needed a company to watch the movie?
"No. The guy's too emotionally withdrawn. He'll buckle first." I say, dismissing the thought from my mind.
Nathan asked me out.
He said he wants me. He always have.
I don't need to bother about his level of attraction to me.
"You can't just place opinions sweetheart. Let the betting do the talking." Nathan teases and I redden from the term he used on me.
"Fine. 10 dollars." I say dramatically and surprisingly I win.
Nathan clutches his chest to mimic shock and I can't help but laugh.
"Look at you stepping up your game." He says as he digs into his pocket and pulls out 10 dollars.
The moment Nathan places the money in my hand, I feel his other hand on my waist pull me closer to him and I look up.
"You wouldn't mind if I upgraded your reward." He mutters in that husky deep voice and I blink at the raw look of passion and admiration in his eyes.
"Like what?" I whisper back.
Nathan doesn't answer. He leans close and pulls me even closer, closing the space between us as his soft, perfect lips find mine.
His expert tongue parts it's way into my mouth, unlocking pleasures and filling me with desire and need as I kiss him back.

"Well at least I got a kiss, and ten dollars." I say as I take the money from his open hand and he laughs out loud.
"Well played Kensington." Nathan says and we carry on watching the movie.
An hour later, the movie is over and cars are driving out, but Nathan and I are carried away with our conversation.
"You never noticed me in highschool." He accuses and I laugh.
"Notice you? How could I not? You, Lucas, Jordan Bates, Henry Murdoch, Gary Smith and Billy Parker were completely noticeable. Walking around in your football jackets and making out with cheerleaders." I tease and he rolls his eyes.
"What? You were a cheerleader!"
"I was a flag girl. But you see, you can't even remember. You never even spoke to me until Lucas did." I said, surprised at how comfortable I am talking about Lucas without feeling any resentment or fear.
I'm healing.
"But I noticed you. You just struck me as a complete snub. You only ever hung out with Logan or Sarah Gimly." He says and I vaguely remember Sarah.
"Sarah,...yeah. She was so fun, she goes to NYU now." I say and Nathan is observing me now.
"You were so cute then. So smart. So...bubbly yet quiet." He is saying and his eyes reflect pure admiration.
"Were cute? So I'm not anymore?" I tease and he chuckles.
"Of course you are. But you're more than that now. It's a good thing you weren't a cheerleader though, I wouldn't have had the pleasure of kissing you now in college....sexier than ever." He says and I blush openly.
"Logan was a lucky guy." He adds now and I remotely add,
"Bless his soul."
I always say that when I hear his name and for a brief moment, I see a look flash across Nathan's face.
"Yeah. Bless his soul." He agrees and stares at his watch.
"We should get going,...So I can drop you off." He says already climbing to the front seat and I nod, observing him.
"Yeah, sure." I say.
Nathan holds my hand the entire drive back until we get to my dorm.
"I had a beautiful time tonight Lu. If you're ever up for another date..." He trails off, waiting for me to answer.
"Is that a question? If it is, then yes." I say with a smile that he returns.
Then he raises the hand the has been holding to his lips as he kisses my knuckles and the inside of my palm.
"Goodnight Lunar." He says softly and I lean over and plant a simple soft kiss on his lips, before I exit the car.
For the first time, I understood what the big fuss about perfect dates were about. I understood what it felt like to have pure genuine feelings for someone and have them reciprocate such feelings.
And it felt amazing.
