Just when the call ended, Christian pressed the small red button beside his bed and closed his eyes. Just how many accidents he has to suffer in his life. His whole body was aching. He wanted to pay attention to what the Doctor will say, But it was too tiring to even open his eyelids.
Getting the signal for entering, Dr. Jasper entered through the door and rolled his eyes. It seemed this patient's tantrums were just like how most of the billionaires behave.
He sighed seeing him sleeping he held his hand and began the procedure, in half an hour they were done with it. While it seemed Christian was in a deep slumber. It must have been the effect of medicines he was having through glucose bottles.
On the other hand, Cynthia was racing against the clock to reach the hospital. She had raced through the house and reached the subway in just five minutes panting for air. Skipping through people, she took a taxi and asked the driver to drive fast. She was always the one who believed in the saying "Better late than sorry." But here she was now asking the driver to drive quickly. After saying the driver to keep the change she jogged towards the hospital. Cynthia was still in the sweats when she reached there so people were looking at her strangely. Ignoring them, she entered the hospital. Checking the time, she was still five minutes late she sighed.
Asking the reception about Riley Brown's husband she pushed through the door of Her body.
The room was not luxuriously decorated but it was visually pleasing to the eye. The temperature was right, the air was fresh, and even the walls were not plain white. They were a little gray.
But the aura of her boss was cold. Mustering her courage she asked.
"How are you, sir?"
Raising a brow Christian frowned. And looked at her as if she was plain stupid.
"How do I look?" His voice shook, it felt like his tongue has some inflammation to it.
Seeing her boss's condition, she felt a little guilty. It was her job to take care of him. But he was the one who had asked to remove bodyguards. So technically it was his fault too.
His face was full of small injuries yet he managed to look handsome. It was a pity that his behavior was a little disappointing.
"How did it happened, sir?"
"Shut up." Glaring at her Christian said hoarsely.
"I. I'm sorry sir. I failed to protect you. I will go and help you with the discharge process. We will immediately go to your private hospital."
"I said Shut up Cynthia."
"Sorry, sir."
Pointing toward the water, Christian sighed. Cynthia immediately came over and helped him to drink it. Taking slow breaths so that his ribs pain becomes a little less. He finally said.
"Don't inform Emma about the accident and I don't want to change hospitals. I am appointing you to manage issues of the company for a few weeks. Though ask Dr. Raymond to come and give me a thorough analysis of my condition."
"But sir. Miss Emma will explode."
"I will take care of it. You do what I asked you to do."
"I. Sir. But. How can I handle the whole company by myself?"
Glaring at her fiercely, Christian lost patience and finally said in an angry voice.
"Don't let me repeat, Stupid woman."
"Ah. Okay, sir. Take care."
"By the way, help me to bring my blanket and my black cushions here. And a new phone. My old phone is shattered."
"Okay, sir."
"Inform Andy too."
"Okay, sir. But how about the food? Would you like to eat something?"
"No. Riley is managing that."
"Oh. Okay sir, then Have a good rest. I will leave now."
"Go." Sighing he closed his eyes again. It seemed all his energy was drained just in speaking some words.
[An hour later]
Riley pushed open the door gently and came inside without making any noise. Seeing him she spoke,
"How are you feeling Mindy?"
"Fine."
"You must be hungry, I made you some porridge. Would you like to have it? I have learned from my mother. She makes awesome porridge."
"I."
He was in no mood to eat but seeing the expectation in her eyes he had to eat. Hesitating for few moments he finally muttered a small,
"Okay"
"Open your mouth, Mindy."
He opened his mouth while Riley gently scooped some porridge in the spoon and held it in front of his lips. He gulped it down, his tongue was a little swelling, so he couldn't identify its taste, but judging from a little taste he had, it seemed there was very little salt in it.
"How's it?" She asked him.
"It's tasty." He answered back, Since it was the first thing Riley cooked for him, his heart was touched with warmth.
Riley spooned some porridge again and blew on it to cool it. There was something exotic in her caring wife persona, she looked like someone who had stepped out of his dream.
Her full forehead, slightly curved nose, and pink lips were stunning. However, her beauty didn't just come from her appearance only in appearance but it came through her heart. The way she made Porridge for him was truly heartwarming.
A strand of black hair fell in front of her eyes, and Riley gently flicked it to the side.
She asked him to open his mouth again, but he kept staring at her little mouth, feeling that his body was about to explode.
"Mindy?"
No answer.
"Mindy?"
"Ah." He opened his mouth obediently and ate silently.
When she finished, she stood up and put aside the lunch box and opened the clothes which she needed to help him change since he couldn't do that himself.
She reached out her hand and squeezed his collar gently taking off the t-shirt. Her fingers accidentally touching his skin. She sensed a sudden rise in his temperature.
His ridges were straight and the width of his shoulders was impeccable. The bulge of his pecks was quite sculpted and his waist was narrowed perfectly.
His alluring figure was covered with wounds yet it was still a perfect inverted triangle.
Her throat tightened and she subconsciously swallowed. After removing the t-shirt she held another one for him to change. The shirt's fabric was quite smooth and comfortable. Yet it was Yellow. He never wore clothes in such bright colors. But seeing the expectant face he didn't say anything to stop her. She rose on her tiptoe and held Christian's broken arm and put the sleeve over. Due to her standing on tiptoe her shirt rose and her perfectly beautiful stomach peeked at Christian.
Christian exhaled, inwardly thinking 'Why did he felt she was seducing him.' His gaze darkened, trying to hide the subtle emotion.
"Mindy Please keep your arm upwards." She asked bringing him out of his emotions.
"Okay." He said trying to hide the small blush that was forming due to his dirty thoughts. He held up his other arm When She pulled the other sleeve over too. She smiled. A single deep dimple. It was beautiful.
"Well. It's Cute."
The light color made him feel a little young while the print made him feel elegant. Riley complemented and began to button up. While Christian felt like she was a young daughter-in-law who groomed her husband before going to sleep. From the bottom to the top, she left two buttons unbuttoned.
Christian looked at the tired little woman who was his wife now and his brown eyes instantly filled with lots of love for her. Deep love.
