That was the mantra of Christian Evercast. He never knew what failure was! because it wasn't his choice since childhood. Life does throw us sometimes like a ball and We weep, drive away from our beliefs, and get knocked out of the way. Yet we try to make it work. Because we know, we don't have another option. it'd happen with every one of us. For everyone.

And it wasn't like he was an innocent man. He had completed his Ph.D. degree in business management at the best university in New York at such a small age. How could he be Stupid enough to let his love go? He would never let her go, even if he had to work bloody hard to retain her with him.
The next morning hopped in soon than expected for Riley Brown. She wasn't able to make more of her sleep like she usually does after facing a bad day. She needed a strong coffee to get this tiredness away. Her eyes incredulously rose over the alarm clock beside her table. "Shit. It was 8. She was going to get late." Riley negatively shook her head shooing away her sleepiness.
However, Something was rattling at the door, Hearing the noise Riley stood up to check.
The moment she opened the door, Her eyes curiously stared at his moving figure again. Although she couldn't see his face, she was sure he must be frowning. Of course, why wouldn't he be! he was moving anxiously. It seemed like he was waiting or was deciding whether to knock on her door or not.
With slow steps, she made her way towards her newly wedded husband. When she had first seen him, her breathing had accelerated and she felt like her heart wanted to come out of her chest. Beggar had beautiful, drowning eyes. A gorgeous face and a hot body to get lost in. However, after knowing him, she got to know that, his personality was more authoritarian.
"Uggh." She mentally slapped herself for thinking about him even when they had such a brutal fight just last night.
His back shone in the little sunlight as the golden rays starting to peep in the living room, falling over his Cheap Micky mouse night suit back making him cuter. There was nothing that could have been more pleasant to her senses than the sunrise and him.
With quiet steps, she made her way towards him. The moment Christian sensed movement behind him. He turned over and smiled. His smile dazzled her for a moment. While his eyes incredulously rose over her smoothed face glancing at her beautiful face. He can't help but admire her flawless skin.
She was indeed more like the queen of a foreign province that he would want to protect with his life.
The feeling of warmness engulfed them. It was wafting so much in the air That for once her heart wanted to be spent into him.
"Good morning Riley! I prepared a coffee for you, Hope you will like it." Christian mumbled in a happy voice.
She groaned. Yet her heart swooned at that exact moment. Her heart didn't care about his status or anything else, all it cared was about the straight-haired, brown-eyed man who was looking at her like she was his whole world.
"Morning. Thank you, Mindy. Yeah, I will tell you about its taste." She muttered without taking her eyes off him.
"It's my duty, So don't say thank you. And Breakfast will be prepared in ten minutes" He offered her an explanation.
"Alright," she answered back with a small nod.
He smiled up at her, his eyes shining with so much love and adoration for her. Riley watched him as he backed away, heading to the kitchen. And, When she could no longer see him, she closed the door smiling.
Okay. Why was she smiling? No matter how much he likes her. she couldn't possibly accept a beggar.
She was smiling because he prepared breakfast for her right?.

Riley hated her stupid honest subconscious's voice. it was like she was carrying her stupid annoying best friend with her.
And as if, Remembering her, She groaned Lisa will skin her alive if she knew what happened. Frustrated she gulped her coffee down and stomped to the bathroom.
[15 minutes later]...
After getting dressed in a beautiful yellow three-piece suit and combing her hair. She left the room.
When She stopped beside the small kitchen she noticed, Beggar was still preparing breakfast for her. He was too focused to notice her. Yet, He looked too dreamy to be true. Seeing the ingredients she guessed he was preparing spaghetti and tacos. Yet It didn't look like he cooked often. Because His movements were slow and careful.
Looking at him, she remembered His father never cooked for her mother. It was always her mother who had to prepare meals for them.
Riley was so much in a daze that she didn't even find When Christian noticed her gaze. He stopped his movements and a wave of warmth flooded him.
To bring her out of her daze, Christian walked up to her, Sporting a pink dishtowel over his shoulder and brandishing a wooden spoon, he walked up to her greeting her with a big smile
"ta-da!"
She half-melted, at his big goofy smile.
"Riley! Oh, it's done. Come on. Let's take these to the table" He clapped his hands in front of her like a kid.
While Riley's heart swelled when he said that.
"Okay Mindy," Riley said shyly.
"It is my duty, Riley, don't mention it!" He bowed with a smile. His straight brown bangs were covering his face Yet he looked effortlessly handsome.
She wanted to capture that moment in her heart. 'Ah! How did she get so lucky, Alas! it will only last for a few days. Then they will go their separate ways, nonetheless, she still wanted to enjoy the remaining days with him.' Riley sighed inwardly.' He wondered what she was thinking that her beautiful smile turned into a sad one.'
After placing the breakfast on the table, both of them sat there and ate in peaceful silence.
But the silence was interrupted by her phone ringing.
"Hello..." Riley answered in a dazed voice.
"Riley! you stupid little brat! Are you insane? Have You married a beggar?" From the other end, came a harsh voice.
"Y...ou...Wh..what...How do you know Mom?" Riley was so much shocked, that she Stammered.
Nobody knew she married a beggar except Christian Or his PA.
"Damn it! Turn on the tv and watch yourself. Why did you get married to a beggar without even informing us? Don't you even consider us your parents?" Milly shouted from the other end.
She was so angry that she wanted to even beat Riley! How can she marry so easily? And even so, she lied to them. That she would be staying in an office dormitory. It seems they have given too much freedom to her.
Now that she married a beggar! Their family reputation was ruined.
"I....Y.You, Mom.."
She was too shocked to say anything.
"Go to hell! Riley Brown, Just think from today onwards that your parents died, You ungrateful vile daughter." Milly shouted again in a hoarse voice.
Her father had a chronic kidney disease and along with it Hypertension. It was already too hard to maintain his health and now suddenly, Riley had almost given him a heart attack. She was changing the channels when she heard her daughter's name mentioned by the Tv reporter. Out of sheer curiosity, she started watching it. However, the moment she understood what was happening, she was shaking with anger. Despite that, Milly didn't want the news to reach her father. She had tried calling her Journalist friends to drop the story in exchange for whatever money they wanted. Surprisingly, No one took the offer, which was weird.
Trying to stop her husband from seeing the news, Milly tried every method, But at last, she failed. When he saw it on his phone, and then his blood pressure had an abrupt rise in it. If Milly didn't give him sleeping pills to rest, They might have been in hospital. Crying over his death.
She dared to do this, Looks like, Milly wasn't able to discipline her beloved daughter.
Before Riley could say anything, Her mother hung up.
