Seeing Elena shrinking in to the chair that she was on and literally shivering while doing this was nothing short of shocking and scary even for someone like me.
I had just wanted to speak to her speak to her about what had happened between us, nothing more, nothing less and when she continued to freak out and ramble thinking that I had just called her to scold her or probably punish her was amusing so I had told her to shut up in a way that I thought that I was joking. I was not even that stern nor scary with my choice of tone on her so I really did not expect her to do this.
“Elena? Are you okay? What is wrong with you?” I said to her, concern and worry written all over my face as I moved closer to her to try to help or comfort her, anything I could do to calm her down and make her feel safe with me.
It would be an understatement if I said that I did not feel very down and sad about seeing her act like this towards me, being scared and all even when I would never hurt her nor even watch anybody do anything to her, at least, not anymore. My wolf would never even give me the strength to withstand it, I have such strong feelings for her and even though I would never tell her that nor anybody, not even my beta and best friend, I still know that deep within myself.
When I moved close to her, she shrank further away from me and that was only possible if she was going to become one with the chair, she even looked at me like I was going to hurt her so bad, like I would not hesitate to be violent on her, hit her or even kill her.
“NO! No, no. I will not do it again, I promise. Please, please, please.” She kept on mumbling and I had to kneel to the height of the chair she was on and not touch her as she obviously does not want that. I crawled on my knees towards her, trying my luck for what seemed to be the third time and she yet again shrank away from me, it broke my heart to see her acting like this. It was just like the day I had found her in my bathroom, scared and fragile, not knowing what her fate in my home was going to bring for her.
“I will not disappoint you again, I... I will not do it again, I promise you. I am so so sorry, I won’t do it again, please.” She screamed this time as I tried to touch her and calm her down.
“I will not hurt you, Elena! I would never do that to you! Shhhh... Shh.. Elena, look at me... Elena, please, just look into my eyes and see that I would never hurt you like you think I would. I am not a monster, Elena. LOOK AT ME!” I yelled at her, hoping that it would get her to calm the fuck down but she only dropped her arms from around her head and finally let me grab her face while she looked a anywhere but my eyes. Like she was very afraid of what she would meet in them, like she was afraid that my face would morph into a scary monster, one that she does not want to see.
“I... I... I... am sorry...” She kept saying on and on, over and over before she then started to mumble more words that did not sound coherent to me because I could not make sense out of them. Seeing that being closer to her was still doing her more harm than good, I let her be as I stood back up on my feet and backed away from her, leaving a very considerable distance between us.
“Elena, I am not closer to you now. See? So I want you to listen to me, even if you can not look at me, Listen to me, please. I would never hurt you, Elena. I want you to know that, and I am not in any way mad at you. You did not disobey me in anyway or anything, I am also sorry if I triggered anything by telling you to shut up, I assure you that I did not mean it that way, trust me. So please, Elena, calm down, I know that you are panicking right now, but please, calm down.”
I said to her and I watched as she seemed to stop panicking after the assurance that she had heard from me, I was starting to get relieved only for me to see her faint.
“Elena!” I shout as I rushed towards her and caught her in my arms just before she slumped off the chair and on to the ground. I carried her in my arms in a bridal style and then I proceeded to take her to her room, passing through my kids and others who I was sure had many questions in mind for me on seeing her like that.
After placing her gently on her bed so she could rest, I called the pack doctor and then I walked out of her room. As soon as I was on the second floor, Mia accosts me, looking worried for Elena and suspicious of me as always. I swear this girl thinks that I am a monster that would just hurt Elena for any reason at all. I can not even fathom it.
“What happened to her again?” She asked
“Uh... don’t worry about it, Mia. I assure you that Elena is fine, she just suddenly felt sick. She would be fine in a bit, the pack doctor would be here to make sure of that.” I said reassuringly.
“That looked pretty serious to me though, are you sure, dad?” Mia pestered, obviously seeing my stories as cock and bull.
I glared at her before speaking, “she is fine, Mia.”
“Well, pardon me if I do not believe what comes out of your mouth, dad. I mean, she was just in your study and I am sure I heard you yell at her even though that room is sound proof. I was also with her barely minutes ago and she was very hale and hearty. She did not look sick in anyway, so why is it that she suddenly got sick and even fainted when she went into your study.” She said and I rolled my eyes.
“Believe me or not, Mia. I have nothing to answer to you for, you are my daughter and I am the adult, you should listen to me!” I scolded and she scoffed and then rushed down the stairs to the lounge where murmurs kept coming from.
I did not know what was coming until she announced, “guys, I think dad hurt Ms. Elena in his study, because when I confronted him about him, he threatened me and told me to listen to him, he must have done something to her!”
