I watched as Diego shivered so badly while his headache just went worse, and the fact that all of these just happened in a twinkle of an eye is so shocking. After he had gone up to his room while throwing tantrums saying that he wanted Elena back, we did not see him come back down and the alpha had instructed during lunch that we should not go and beg him if he decides to go on yet another hunger strike again because he doe not want him to think he can simply get away with anything by just embarking on a hunger strike.
But then, when we had no choice but to check on him for early dinner, we were shocked to find him with his temperature so high and his body shivering like he was thrown in a pool of ice.
The alpha looked so concerned and worried about his well being so even though I did not give two fucks about these kids at all, I decided to stay for the night and take care of him. But not without me having my own personal vendetta and which is to be closer to Deangelo of course and to get him to see me act so concerned about his children.
People call it pretense but I simply call it strategy.
I continued to wipe Diego’s body just as I had been doing and then he suddenly sat up, he made a sick noise in his throat. His eyes were dull. His hands went to his mouth; he choked, shut his eyes, bent, and then I just knew that the most terrible, horrible, dreadful, awful thing that could happen was going to happen.
Please, Diego, no. . . . but I prayed too late. The terrible, horrible, dreadful, awful thing happened. Diego threw up. A thick rush of fluid filled his mouth, spilled out, fell to splash on the tiles, covering the designs. He did this twice, a sharp winy stench filled the cool air and I find myself grumbling at what had just happened.
Some of it splattered on my cloth and I had the great urge to give the bratty little boy a slap on his cheeks.
What the hell is this? I yell inwardly.
But before I could say nor do anything that could obviously be detrimental, the alpha walked in in all his goodness.
My breath caught as I set eyes on him standing in the corner of the room. He was tall, the part of his exposed chest was showing he had tan skin, and I could see his muscles were rippling when he moved his arm. I secretly stared, nervous and scared.
A piece of bread fell out of his mouth as he continued to chew and look at his son on the bed and then at the mess he made. His blonde hair was mussed and sticking up everywhere, as if he had just woken up. His chest and stomach were well defined. The shorts he was in was low waist so I couldn’t see if he was—

He looked so beautiful and refreshed in the untied white robe that he was in and I find myself fantasizing about the naked body that was underneath that robe. I could imagine him touching and going crazy with me and me coming for him multiple times.
One day, Sofia. Soon. I reassured myself as I got up to start cleaning the vomit to impress the alpha while also trying so hard not to wretch.
“No, Sofia. Call the cleaners to just do that.” He said with concern etched on his face.
“It is fine sir. Diego is just like my son too, you know, doing this is not a big deal at all. Kids can be messy and that is fine. It isn’t much of a big deal at all.” I lied while holding my breathe just so I do not perceive the bad smell.
“Thank you so much for always staying with my kids and I, Sofia. You never for once go back on your promise for my wife-”
‘Ex.’ I corrected inwardly while giving him a wide smile.
“You have always been there for us and I can not help but wonder if I will ever be able to repay you. You are like an angel sent by the moon goddess.” He said and I find myself getting giddy and my head swelling at the praises that he was bestowing on me.
‘Well, you can start by noticing me, then liking me and then we will move to getting married.’ I think inwardly while batting my eyelashes, hoping that it was giving the effect that I wanted.
“Well, it is nothing, alpha. I assure you that I am doing this wholeheartedly, it gives me absolute joy to take care of the kids.” I lied, my nose twitching involuntarily.
He did not say anymore words but instead moved closer to Diego not minding the stain, after seating beside him on his bed, he rested his head on his chest while caressing him gently, “I never thought the kids could ever react like this to any nanny leaving, even Mia that usually seem very distant was pissed to hear that Elena left, she even thinks that I sacked her or sent her away. What do you think is needed to be done to satiate these kids, Sofia?”
My face lightened up as I felt happy about the fact that he even thought of asking for my opinion and advice about anything. Taking a deep breathe, I replied him, making sure to sound as sultry as I could be, “Alpha, I think they are just being kids and would get over it in a matter of two days. Honestly, I never thought that Elena was a good nanny for them because she indulges them in a lot of bad things which she should not. So I do not think this attitude from the kids should pressure you into getting her back especially since she left all by herself, I mean, she did not even bother to say goodbye to anyone, not even the kids who got so fond of her. She simply left.”
Deangelo sighed, “well, I guess you are right, I just have to tell Luca to find another nanny as soon as he can.” He said and my face fell.
Ugh! I did not like that idea because I just did not want any stranger coming into this house to take my man, no way.
“Uh... alpha. I am thinking that I could just become their nanny too, what do you think? At least that would even save you the stress of going through various nannies, you know that I am never going to just rise and leave them for any reason at all no matter what...” I suggested, mirroring his expression as if it could tell in advance what to expect from his mouth.
“That is not a good idea, Sofia. Not at all, every one in this pack has their assigned roles and you shuffling two at once is going to cause a lack in one or two of them. I don’t want such cases happening-”
He was interrupted by Diego whose eyes was now opened and he started to cry, “I want Ms. Elena...”
He kept on saying while his father consoled him while I simply got irritated at the father and son duo before me, I could not just understand what it was that Diego was so enthralled about Elena for.
Why do these kids keep ruining my plans for some idiot who was not even here for more than four weeks? What did she ever do to gain their favour and fondness in such a short amount of time?
