I had just arrived home after spending the whole day at the hospital with Deangelo, feeling completely exhausted. As soon as I walked into my room, one of the maids handed me a package that had just arrived for me. I took it from her without really thinking anything of it and set it on my bed, my mind still preoccupied with thoughts of Deangelo.
I sat down on my bed and opened the package, curious to see what it could be and as soon as I tore open the box, an awful smell hit my nostrils. But as soon as I saw what was inside, I let out a blood-curdling scream and tossed the package away from me.
It was a dead rat, lying lifeless and stiff inside the package. I was horrified and felt a shiver run down my spine. Who would do such a thing? And why send it to me?
While I tried to calm myself down, I heard the sound of footsteps running up to my room. The other staff members had heard my scream and were coming to check on me. I quickly threw the package under my bed, not wanting anyone else to see the gruesome contents.
When they arrived, I told them that I had thought I had seen a cockroach in the package and that was why I had screamed. They seemed to accept my explanation and left my room, but Luca lingered behind, giving me a suspicious look.
I tried to act as normal as possible, but I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching me. I felt a surge of panic as I realized that someone had sent me the package as a warning or a threat. I couldn't let anyone know that I suspected foul play, so I quickly hid the rat under my bed and tried to act as normally as possible.
Luca's suspicious gaze lingered on me before he finally left, and I was left alone in my room, with my thoughts and fears spiraling out of control. Who had sent me that package and why? My mind was racing with questions and I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease settling in.
I took the dead rat and held my nose, trying to block out the foul smell emanating from it. I snuck out to the back of the house and disposed of it. As I was throwing it away, I noticed a piece of paper sticking out of its torn belly. I pulled it out, and it read: "This is what would happen to you if you do not do as you are told."
I felt a chill run down my spine. Whoever sent me the package meant business, and I knew that I had to be careful. Someone was trying to scare me, but I had no idea who it could be. I was frightened but also angry. I wasn't going to let anyone intimidate me, not after all that I had gone through to get to where I was with the alpha.
I went back to my room, feeling unsettled and on edge. The note played over and over in my head, and I knew that I had to figure out who was behind this. But for now, I had to keep my cool and act like nothing had happened. I couldn't let anyone know that I was afraid but then I could not keep up the facade for so long because soon enough, I busted into tears and started to cry.
And just then, I forgot that I had not even closed the door of my room and this gave Elena the chance to walk in like the busybody that she of course was, as she entered the room, she saw me crying and approached me, asking me what's wrong. I tried to brush it off, not wanting to show any weakness in front of her. I pushed her away immediately, telling her to mind her own business. I could not believe that she had seen me in such a vulnerable state twice already.
But what was worse was that she was still trying to get close to Deangelo and I can't stand it. He was mine now, and I was going to do anything to make sure he stayed that way, so I took the opportunity to warn Elena off. I told her over and over again that Deangelo belonged to me, and that she needed to stay away from him. I could feel the anger boiling inside of me, and it was taking all of my self-control to keep it in check.
I knew that Elena could see right through me, but I did not care. I just wanted her to stay away from Deangelo and me even. He was the only thing that matters to me, and I'll do anything to keep him by my side.
Elena soon walked away silently, feeling very dejected much to my happiness, but as soon as she left, I could immediately feel the weight of my emotions bearing down on me. I could not believe that I was losing control like this. I need to keep my wits about me if I want to keep Deangelo close. He would not want someone acting so unstable and crazy as his wife, would he?
I wiped away my tears and took a deep breath, steeling myself for what was to come. I knew that I was going to face a lot of challenges in the days ahead, but I was ready for them. I'll do whatever it takes to protect what's mine. Even if it means getting rid of the whole world.
