"It hurts. It hurts so much." My eyes stung with unshed tears, and my voice emitted a shaky tone.
I bit my lower lips hard due to pain.
It wasn't just a minute later when the pain increased again. By now I couldn't help it anymore, and the tears I tried so hard to restrain began to stream down my cheeks.
Everything hurts; my whole skin is hot, itchy, and peppers. It almost drives me crazy.
Asher! How couldn't he have warned me of this? Ahhh!
Before I could proceed with my thoughts, a scream emitted from my throat due to the sudden increase in pain.
I clenched my fist hard and tried to prevent myself from accepting the decision to soak myself in the water to stop the pain.
I tried to think of other things to get my mind off the pain, but unfortunately, I was unable to. All that pervaded my mind was how the gel-like mixture hurt so much.
It hurts. It itches and burns so much.
I gritted my teeth and tried to leave the bathroom in case I did something I regretted.
My legs feel so weak, and my body is shivering so badly that I can hardly lift it.
The transparent white gel that coated my body had strangely turned green, and some dark things were appearing on my skin.
However, I have no time to pay attention to all this due to the pain.
My eyes were blurry, and my consciousness seemed to be fading, so I gritted my teeth hard and exerted my strength to crawl out of the bathroom.
And immediately, I fell onto the familiar floor of my bedroom. I collapsed on the floor.
Without giving me the time to catch my breath, the pain increased.
This time it felt as if the gel had penetrated deep into my system, which made my whole system burn.
Unable to hold myself anymore, the tears began to stream down my cheeks again.
I could hear screams from a distance.
Somehow the screaming sounded familiar; it sounded like my voice. Was I the one screaming? No wonder my throat hurts so much.
"Mom. Dad. It hurts. It hurts so much. It hurts. Stop this. Or, better yet, let me come along with you. Everything is so cruel to me. Hurts." I bemoaned in a whisper, but somehow, even though I thought I was whispering, I could hear myself, and my voice sounded loud.
The door was suddenly kicked ajar, but since I had no strength to look, I didn't know who it was.
"It hurts. It…"
Before I could finish my sentence, an anxious sandalwood scent wrapped around me, and I felt Wyatt's cold touch on my warm skin.
Wherever Wyatt's hand fell brought comfort to my miserable skin. I opened my eyes, but all I could see was his blurry face. His mouth seemed to be moving, but that was what I noticed before I shut my eyes tight.
Even doing a simple thing like opening my eyes is stressful for someone like me. A few seconds later, Wyatt's hands left my skin, which made the discomfort return in intensity.
My face scrunched up in pain. I tried to call out his name; unfortunately, such a simple task felt so hard. How am I so useless?
"You scum. You never said it'd hurt her like this." A few seconds later, I heard Wyatt's furious voice. It seems he was accusing Asher due to his tone, but I have no strength to process this thought.
Hey, no pain. No gain." Asher's leisure voice sounded immediately, which surprisingly sent fury rushing through me. Why can't he warn me?
I didn't have to open my eyes to know he must have a mischievous grin on his face. I wonder how many minutes have passed; is it up to thirty minutes already?
"How can you be so casual about this?" Wyatt accused in anger.
"Don't you think your care for Maia is getting out of hand?" Asher replied in a serious and puzzled voice.
"What do you mean? I've always been like this." Wyatt replied, his voice returning to the cold I've always known.
"Yes, you're always like this. I understand." Asher replied mischievously.
Wyatt scoffed and touched me again. This time I was able to raise my hand easily, and I silently guarded Wyatt's hand against my hot cheeks without opening my eyes.
Soon, his two hands cupped my cheeks, which made a relieved sigh emit from my lips.
Feeling my cheeks cool more, I tried to direct his hand down to my neck, and a few seconds after he did, the pain also reduced. Was it thirty minutes already, or was it Wyatt's touch that was comforting my miserable skin?
A few minutes later, the pain was reduced to ordinary warmth. I weakly opened my eyes and saw Wyatt staring at me with an anxious, worried look.
I tried to smile, intending to comfort him: "I'm fine; it doesn't hurt as much as before. It's okay." I tried to say it calmly, but my voice came out in a hoarse, low voice. I closed my eyes.
Soon my eyes flew wide open upon realizing something: I was naked.
"I'm naked. What are you both doing in a naked girl's room? Even though I wanted my voice to come out in a fierce tone, it ended up coming out in a weak, hoarse, and soft voice.
Asher grinned at me. "It's nothing serious." He stated and pointed at Wyatt and himself. "We've both seen you before; Wyatt isn't that right? Look, we didn't even act like you were naked. We are total gentlemen. He spoke righteously, which made me roll my eyes.
I touched my forehead and sighed upon feeling a headache creeping in; Wyatt silently massaged my forehead, and I gave him an appreciative gaze before directing a glare at Asher. "Not a playboy talking; leave my room."
Asher snorted, bent over at my door, and began to draw circles on the floor. "I said it. You're different." He stated, but my eyes were closed while I enjoyed how Wyatt diligently massaged my forehead.
"Any girl in your position would've hurried to cover herself, bawl her eyes out, scream, or throw herself at us, but you're calm." He stated with a mischievous grin, which made me snort.
I can hardly talk, lift my fingers, or do anything, and it was all thanks to him, so how will I have the capabilities to do such things he listed? "I can't change the time, can I? If it wasn't your fault for not warning me, quickly leave my room." I said, and he leisurely stood up.
"Alright. Alright. You're also using and dumping. This poor man lives nothing but a miserable life." He cried out and trudged out of my room with drooped shoulders.
