“Has it gained a reaction from the dresser?”
Brother Chong raised his brow and said nothing else. He knew one could find sacrificial items needed by the Death Building in some middle-level nightmares. This only proved that Gao Ming had good luck.
“Then, I have to use my blood to stimulate the dresser.” Gao Ming was not willing to use Brother Chong’s knife, so he bit his wrist, “Can I bleed in the dream?”
“You are not dreaming.” Brother Chong was about to explain when he suddenly realised something. The dresser was already reacting even though Gao Ming hadn’t used his blood to trigger it!
Brother Chong took a closer look. He noticed the thing that consumed the negative emotions on the sacrifices was not the dresser but the thing Gao Ming had just put into the dresser. Brother Chong wanted to stop him, but Gao Ming had already bitten through his wrist. The latter seemed to have lost his sense of pain. He allowed the blood to flow through his palm. Then, he pressed his palm on the dresser patterns.
All the players on the floor heard dull heartbeats. The beats contained a special rhythm and affected everyone subtly. Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to look at the lobby.
Gao Ming’s blood appeared to be a high-level sacrifice. The life force within the blood was highly invasive. It wasn’t trying to combine with the pattern but was forcing the butterfly patterns to mutate!
“Who left behind the patterns on the dresser?”
“An evil god born in the deeper nightmare. It once possessed endless disciples. It is now a dying false god.” Brother Chong spoke quickly. A strange knife materialised in his hand.
Thin blood patterns appeared on his skin. This time, Gao Ming felt it clearly. A blood city was imprinted on his body. There was a room that he couldn’t open right in the middle of the blood city tattoo. It contained a lot of torture devices and Gao Ming’s secrets.
“In the fragmented city zones of Perfect Life, it seems easier for me to break the shackles on my body. The oppression on me here has clearly weakened.”
The blood on his palm seeped through the dresser. It was not absorbed by the dresser. Instead, a new pattern appeared on the dresser. This proved that the thing hidden in Gao Ming was stronger than the butterfly pattern!
A light pattern of a strange ghost appeared beside the cut and the butterfly pattern. It had four faces and eight arms. It forced itself between the divine patterns left behind by the two Gods and absorbed everything hungrily. When the divine pattern fully appeared on the dresser, Gao Ming’s heart skipped a beat. A name blasted through his mind. “The God of Flesh and Blood!” The fragrance of meat undulated. The sacrifices around the dresser shattered. There appeared to be a giant creature inside the dresser that was trying to get out to kill everyone!
The strange movement in the lobby grabbed everyone’s attention. Brother Chong’s face dropped. He regretted having Gao Ming try this.
“Do you want to come out?” A strong reply came from inside the dresser. Gao Ming stopped hesitating. His bloody hands grabbed the door. The patterns of the God of Flesh and Blood on the dresser did the same. Both of them worked together to open the dresser doors. The intertwining blood vessels were like the capillaries of the God of Death. A demon that had escaped from hell was caught inside the dresser. Gao Ming was the man who opened Pandora’s box.
Malice and tragedy poured out. The plant roots grew rapidly. They crawled into the crevices on the walls, floor and ceiling. They went after the other players. They even wanted to absorb the black mist outside the windows.
Footsteps came from everywhere. The lights flickered. The elevator panels blinked. The players assumed Immortal Pharma had found them.
Brother Chong was covered in cold sweat. He hadn’t felt such panic in a long time already. The merchants and players gathered their way. Their faces were coloured by surprise and shock. When they were faced with danger, no one chose to leave. All of them took out their weapons. They were ready to fight.
These people were more brutal than Immortal Pharma’s testers.
Gao Ming’s hands, the God of Flesh and Blood’s hands and the roots of the seeds touched each other. The memory carved into Gao Ming’s mind escaped. Gao Ming saw his death memories. His body was pieced together by hope after endless deaths. It was the light that shot through fate after multiple struggles.
With each beat of the heart, the union of the three would deepen. Gao Ming felt like there were a lot of ghosts hidden inside his body. Some of them were the dead versions of himself. There were also souls from the nightmare!
He was not limited by reality in Perfect Life, so he felt intensely what was happening. He seemed to have stored a lot of souls from the deep-level world in his chest. He used his body as a vessel to carry them out!
Gao Ming wanted to hold the hand of the ghost on the dresser but it was just a shadow. Gao Ming suddenly had an inspiration that once he could really hold the hands of the God of Flesh and Blood, everything would return to him.
Gao Ming listened to the howls of the ghosts from his chest. They couldn’t wait to escape and feel everything. However, Gao Ming slowly calmed down. He woke up from the nightmare. His heart was filled with ghosts and ghouls. Perhaps when he found his missing memory, those ghosts would crawl out of his heart and tear down the calm reality.
But was that the right thing to do? To show the truth and turn the nightmare into reality? Gao Ming would also lose his current life. He would lose his home, Liu Yi, and the gifts of fate.
The rapidly-growing roots took over two-thirds of the floor. When it tried to crawl up the elevator shaft to the other floors, the normal knife cut on the dresser suddenly lit up as if in a warning.
The cut was shallow. It didn’t even harm the dresser. It only slashed through the butterfly patterns. However, even so, the cut managed to make the roots calm down. It didn’t break down the structure of the Death Building or harm the players. It chose to coexist with the dresser.
The roots crawled into the wall. The black mist outside the window was forced back. The Death Building’s territory clearly expanded. All the players noticed that the roots that reached into the mist were still absorbing something from the mist to heal the cracks of the Death Building.
Brother Chong put down the knife. He glanced at Gao Ming. Gao Ming stood before the dresser with his head lowered. He said nothing.
