Somehow, my menstrual cramps subsided a little when Monday passed by like a blur. When Tuesday rolled by, everything was a bit odd lately.
I could feel it like something happened when I wasn't there because when I went to my first period, Emma's nose was still stuck in her notebook and reading again! Well, it's not bad to read but it's just strange for someone like Emma.
"I'm concentrating." Her only reply when I asked her what happened. I thought her quiz was only yesterday, she has one this day too? I kind of felt bad but I chose to just listen to the discussion.
Then in my second period, Hannah seemed off. I wanted to ask her what happened yesterday at lunch but I held back, noticing the gloom in her eyes. This was odd since the usual Hannah is all smiles and laughs, but this is different.
"Hey, Hannah, can I borrow a pen?" I asked, even though I have one already, but just to start a conversation. Her eyes that were glued to the board turned to me and nodded. She grabbed her pencil case quietly and handed her pen to me. The way her eyes held a deeper emotion made me not hesitate anymore to ask her a question. "What happened? Do you have menstrual cramps too?"
Slowly, she shook her head, her eyes now back to the board. "Just...nothing." She mumbled.
"O..kay?" I said unsure. Curiosity is eating me alive. And I feel so helpless knowing that my best friend is kind of enduring something and I can't do anything but to look at her sympathetically while my other best friend turns into a genius with her eyes not leaving the book. Really, what is happening to my friends lately?
I instantly sat up straight when a plan entered my mind. Well, why did I didn't think of it sooner?
With that, I spent the rest of the day hatching an evil plan. Well, well, well, if they don't want to tell me, then I'm afraid I'll have to be the one to take action and consider another option.
Mrs. Johnson told us that the presentation reporting is canceled for a while, so we still have time until next week, but the sad thing is that she added another task to each of us, write a five-page essay about the causes of a huge change in the world. For me, it was kind of okay but she said that we have to brainstorm with our partner.
Brainstorm? With Eion? Psh. More like storming the brain.
I turn my head to my side, with Eion writing something on his paper. I assumed it to be the perfect timing to "brainstorm" with my partner.
"So, Eion, speaking of brainstorming, have you got any idea what could possibly be the answer to a few questions I have to ask you?"
He snorted in reply, a sign you can get from the typical 'Eion'.
"As expected." I grinned. I kind of had a good day today, and I'm not letting it be ruined by his attitude.
"Well, do you have an idea of what is happening to our friends? You see, I feel like there is something, and we're not involved. What kind of friends they are, right?"
He faced me now and asked, "And?"
"You know, maybe Dax and Leroy had mentioned something to you about my friends...?"
He shrugged grunting in response, "I was not present for the last two days, I wouldn't know.”
I smirked. "Well, thank you. That would be all." I held my hands together, feeling like a detective. Well, so much for getting a piece of information to him. Time to plan B.
"Hey Snow!" A group of girls called out and circled around me, as though we are longtime best friends and smiling so fake. I gulped.
Did I do something wrong with them? But judging by the look of malice and jealousy on their faces, I did something...it's so creepy. I don't have time for this…
Whatever, if I did something wrong, I'll just initiate my new special attack and kick their asses. My ninja skills and combat skills are really handy in these cases.
"So you're Eion's girlfriend?" One of them asked.
I laughed at her question, bursting into tears. Seriously? So that's what it is...Are they making me laugh? Because if they are then they are successful. I shook my head no in reply, "No."
They looked at me like I was mad. "But your friends with Eion?
"No." I denied it again. These girls...can't they joke more?
"Really?" They had this surprised look on their faces. I stared at them like they were nuts.
"That's so sad...I was planning for you to tell him that I like him..nevermind..he's too unapproachable. You're the only one in class that can." The girl who I think is their leader said.
I sent her a smile, not back down. "Oh please, I take it as a compliment.”
I didn’t know but this just triggered her and grabbed my shirt. "Are you making fun of me?"
Uhm...no comment there. I really don't have the time to mess around but if they're this pushy then I'll play around first.
"Tell me, what did you do to be able to talk to him? You seduced him, didn't you?" She asked.
"Seduce? Well, let's put it that way for you then. But for me, it was all about not minding my own business and prying others, just like he said.
Also, combine the persistent attitude, patience to handle a robot, add also the annoying and irritating part. Then boom! There you have it!" I said, which is true right?
"And I have one sentence for you." I showed my own look of malice and turned the tables to them, "Dare to mess around me again or else..." I trailed off.
