"It's okay," I said to Luke. I then started talking about my family. "My dad died due to a stroke, and I've been working hard to support us, that's why I am working at Eion's ice cream store." I glanced at Eion who was avoiding my gaze. I felt like I was a beauty contestant and was asked. I wanted to impress Aunt Anna..the mother of my crush...to see if she can approve of me.
We talked for minutes and minutes and I remained steady and calm. She really is kind and I think she likes me. Well, not that I’m just assuming it or anything. After dinner, I help her clean the table. I even offered to wash the dishes because I wanted to impress her.
"No, it's okay, go to the living room and have fun." She said, refusing my offer.
"But I insist.."
She sighed. "Okay... you're really a nice girl..."
"Thank you." She turned and walked away.
I was washing the dishes alone, everyone was in the living room when Eion appeared, getting a mug and making coffee by the counter. I paused, looking at him. He was silent the whole time, and when I was about to call him, he finished making coffee and left.
What was that? Did he even see me? Guess he's still pissed...but I should be the one who should be pissed!
I just sighed, going back to washing the dishes. When I was finished, Eion appeared again, this time, to get himself water. What? Is he a mushroom? Appearing and disappearing out of nowhere?
I think he took shower, as I can see his wet hair, but I can't help but gulp...he only had a towel on his waist, his upper body is naked.
I took a quick glance at his abs, then shook my head. This is bad for me! We are alone! And he's only in a towel!
Instead, I calmed myself, "Eion..." I trailed off. He didn't look at me. I called him again. Still, no answer.
Not able to hold me back, I walked towards him and looked him in the eye, "Why are you avoiding me?" I asked, "What's your problem with me?"
This time, he glared at me. "What's happening to you? Isn't this what you want? I'm leaving you alone so you can concentrate on my cousin." He was obviously furious and I know it.
"I just need to distance myself." He said. My friends are assuming that there's something between us.
"So you're saying there's not?" I asked. "Then what about that offer I made? Didn’t you agree that we can be friends? A treaty or something??"
"Friends? Who said that?" He replied. "Just because I asked you to hang out with me two times doesn't mean we're friends." I could sense an emotion written in his eyes, but I couldn’t depict what it was.
Gasping at what he said, I just shook my head, "Wow, Eion..just wow..." I can't believe it. I even thought that I finally understood him….Guess I was wrong then.
Suddenly, I felt his hands slamming me on the wall behind me. "I was just going easy on you. but now that you're bugging me, I'll make it hard for you.." He looked at me like he could see through my soul. I gulped, feeling his muscles tense
This is a different Eion. So different. A side I just witnessed...I wanted to think for a retort at what he said, but I can't help but look at his abs in front of me, the blood in my cheek rushing, before averting my gaze as thoughts came in my mind.
I cursed under my breath. What am I doing?
Eion seemed to notice my inner battle as he smirked, "Like what you see?" He asked, teasing me. Leaning to me, he whispered in my ear, "Want to touch it?"
I gasped and pushed him away. Cursing him, I left him alone, glaring on his way. My heart was still racing. I don't even know what this guy thinks. He's harder than a 9 x 9 x 9 rubik's cube. I don't care if that doesn't even exist, that's all I could have right now what to describe to him.
I'm not going to lose to that guy! He just teased me!
Seeing Hannah and Emma in the living room, they asked me what was wrong. I just diverted the subject and watched a movie with them.
Eion passed by from upstairs, now fully clothed.
"Hey cuz!" said Hannah and he just nodded in reply.
"You're gonna sleep here?" She asked him and he nodded again.
Hannah sighed and motioned for us to leave, "Let's go now, it's his territory now."
Gosh, if he’s really that pissed at me, he shouldn’t have gone here and even slept on Hannah’s sofa right? Like what’s the point?
We then went upstairs to Hannah’s room, but not before I saw Eion setting up his sleeping space on the sofa and laying there.
"Where's Leroy and Dax?" I asked.
"They both went home," Emma answered for me.
"Why is Eion sleeping here?" I tried to ask them, curious why Eion is here. I mean, they are cousins and I know that's normal but...he has his own house, right?
