Richard’s POV
The next morning came just like every other day, normal and nothing unusual other than the fact that I got to wake up to a beautiful face.
After taking a shower and having my breakfast with mom, Vanessa and our daughter, I made my way to dad’s office that was in town.
He was in the middle of a press conference when I got there.
“What are your intentions towards your illegitimate sons?” One of the reporters asked.
“Is there anything called illegitimate? They have a father as well as a mother. Where’s that coming from?” One thing I’ve always appreciated about my father was the fact that he always had his head held high no matter what could happen.
“We heard it was a rape case. The alleged Concubine of yours was raped by you, what do you have to say about this?”
“Is there any court case against the Royal Household?” He turned to his cabinet members and asked. They all shook their heads.
“There’s nothing like that. Even though they know we’ve won, they still went that low. It’s such a disappointment” We both knew who he was referring to. The Malik’s thought that would bring the Royal Household down but what they didn’t know was the fact that the people respected our family enough to respect my father.
As I stood in the corner watching my father doing his job, I imagined my self in that same position, hoping one day, I’ll be in that same position.
“The big announcement we have this morning for the citizens of our great country is to announce the coronation of the New king, who is my son, Prince Richard Amaan and the inauguration of the new cabinet members who will be headed by my other Son, Aslam Amaan in the next three days. We hope you give us your blessings”
Father stood up from the hot seat and made his way into his office. The reporters were still following him, trying to get his attention one way or the other while I find a way to get away unnoticed.
“Father” I called out once I entered his office. I saw someone who looked just like me- the younger version of me, standing beside the window.
“Richard, you’re here. Since the two of you are present, let me do the introduction” I stopped him before he could say anything more.
“Don’t bother father, I know who he is. He’s Aslam, right?” Father nodded. I moved closer to him and gave him an handshake.
“It’s nice to finally meet you” I greeted
“Same here brother, mother would have loved to see you once again” Father had already told him about her death the other day.
“Well! Let’s get ready for your coronation Richard. Is Vanessa ready too?” That was when it clicked.
I didn’t tell her about it. She has to be there, not just there, right beside me as the Queen.
