Vanessa’sPOV
What in God's name did she just say?
I looked in bewilderment at the figure before me, someone I called a friend for years and confided in for everything that happened to me. Dae, a name that became a past tense. The last time I heard that name was the day Richard's mom fell off the stairs and after that, I lost contact with her and no matter how much I tried to get to her, it was all in vain.
Watching her stand in front of Richard's door and telling me she was his girlfriend got me in a mold. I'm beyond surprised and amazed, this is just too… unbelievable.
“Okay babe, just come in. We need to catch up on things. How have you been? It's been three years babe, how's everything?” I asked smiling wildly at her as I opened the door fully to allow her into the house.
“Is that your daughter?” She asked when she saw her sleeping so peacefully and I nodded. “She's so cute, what's her name?”
“Rachel, I gave her my paternal grandmother's name” I replied.
“That's nice, where have you been?”
“I haven’t been in town for two years now, I just managed to stay off the camera and spotlight. Had to do that for my daughter” I explained
“Guess it didn't take Richard long to find you and the girl. It's really nice seeing Richard reunite with his daughter. Even if he never talked about it, I know he always missed her. I'm glad you're back” She sat down on the couch and brought out her phone to send a message.
“I'm actually glad you're with Richard, I was already scared of the woman in his life thinking it'll be a strange woman who won't like my daughter. But now that I see you here, I'm glad. I'm relieved also” I said sincerely.
Not like I have anything against their relationship and it's not even like I expected Richard to take me back into his life. I knew from the start, that is having a future together is uncertain.
“So, now that you're back, do you have a plan of getting back into Richard's life?” She asked
“I understand that every woman will be scared about that, and it's okay that you asked. I don't have any plan on getting back into his life. All I want is just a father's figure for my daughter. That's all I desire, nothing more, nothing less” She only nodded.
“So, tell me, what have you been up to? You look good actually” I asked
“Nothing much, I've been around. I work for Dexter right now, it's a really big company but am working on bringing up my own company later and I'll be glad if you'll work for me. You're really good at the personal assistant work, it's like you're made for it” I don't know why but I felt insulted by her words.
“That's really good” I replied and left her in the living room to resume my cooking.
But I just couldn't stop myself from thinking about what she said.

Richard'sPOV
After I made an appointment with the decorations company to change the color of my apartment, I decided to call Tiffany in the car.
“Hey Tiff”
“I could hear the excitement in your voice from here. Don't bother telling me, Michael already shared the good news” Tiffany said smiling.
“Michael is too fast with my news” I replied and we both laughed.
“What next now Richard? You shouldn't wait anymore longer. Your woman is here now, don't sleep on that” she advised.
“There are some things I need to sort out first, I'll get to that after I'm done”
“Sort them out fast, before someone else do that for you” She advised again and we said our goodbyes before I made my way back home.
I got to my apartment to meet Vanessa and Rachel at the doorstep, ready to go home.
“What's going on?” I asked with curiosity. I thought they'll be spending the night.
“Your girlfriend is here” Essa replied with amusement on her face. Girlfriend! Where is that one coming from? It might end up being one of the girls that my dad introduced the other day.
“My girlfriend? Leave that issue apart, let me drop you off at your apartment” I suggested
“We already called for a taxi and it'll soon be here. You can't leave your visitor like that, go attend to her.” she looked at the street and beamed with excitement when she saw the taxi park in front of the house.
“It's here already, I'll get to see you later. Goodnight”
She went into the car with my baby sleeping peacefully, I leaned into the car and kissed Rachel at her forehead.
“” Till when?” I asked
“Maybe this weekend, I'll drop her off” I was partly sad and happy. Happy because I'll get to see my daughter and sad because I won't be seeing her.
“Goodnight” I whispered and watch the vehicle drive away. I turned to see what mystery girlfriend I had that I didn't know about.
“Welcome Richard, how was your day?” Dae greeted instantly I entered and my face fell.
“What do you want Dae and why did you told Essa that you're my girlfriend?” I screamed at her.
“You can't scream at me like that, you know the rule Richard”
“Get out of my house” I commanded
“I'll go but I promise you I'll be back. Don't forget, I have in my hands what can bring down everything you've brought up so far. It won’t take me ten minutes to release your birth news on social media. A little scandal for the royal household, I’ll say” She replied before walking out of my house majestically.
What did I do to deserve this!!!!
