Immediately Edwin left for the kitchen, Jessica was still trying to process what just happened between them, covering her face with her hand.
" Does that mean he felt the same way too?" She thought to herself, smiling.
Jessica stood up from the bed and walked out of the room, admiring the beautiful mansion. It made her remember her old house. Someday she was going to get their house back and bring her family back too.
Walking down the stairs, she noticed the mansion was very silent.
"Is he living alone here?" Jessica thought.
She heard her phone ringing and it brought her back from the pool of her thoughts. She went to check on her phone and saw Angie calling her on a video call.
Jessica quickly picked it up since she knew Angie must be worried because she had replied to her message.
" Angie, good morning," Jessica said smiling as she walked down the stairs.
"Good morning, are you okay? Your expression isn't looking good," Angie said, with narrow eyes.
" I am good now. Something terrible happened to me yesterday," Jessica said as she walked towards the kitchen.
" What happened? You are not home. Where are you?" Angie said with a worried expression.
" You remember the friends I told you I had at work?" Jessica asked, looking at the phone.
" James and Misha?" Angie responded with a questioning tone.
" Yes, I was set up yesterday," Jessica said, as she looked at Edwin who was concentrating on cooking.
" What! What happened?" Angie exclaimed, nodding her head to know what happened.
Jessica explained how Misha set her up with James and how she bailed out. She explained how she was saved by her boss, Edwin.
" Hope you are not weak? Are you feeling better now?" Angie asked, still worried.
" I am still feeling a little dizzy, but I will be okay," Jessica said as she walked towards the couch to take her seat. She was truly feeling dizzy.
" Sorry Jessy. Please be careful next time and I believe they will be caught very soon," Angie said, looking worried.
Edwin walked into the sitting room and sat beside Jessica with a piping hot soup on a small plate. It looked delicious and Jessica was already salivating. But why on a small plate?
" I will Angie, thanks for the concern, and I am lucky to_"
Jessica couldn't complete her statement because she saw Edwin bringing a spoon to her mouth.
" Babe, taste this," Edwin said, with a smile on his face and he went back to the kitchen.
Jessica was speechless. Did he do this on purpose and how the hell was she going to explain to Angie? She looked at Angie through the video call, who opened her mouth, looking confused about what Edwin just called her.
" Babe? Am I missing something?" Angie said with wide eyes.
" Angie, it happened this morning. I will explain everything to you later," Jessica said, avoiding eye contact with Angie.
" I will wait patiently for that, girl," Angie said, as she winked at her.
" Please get well soon, and go to the hospital for a proper check-up," Angie said smiling.
" I will, love. Thank you," Jessica said with a smile as she hung up the call.
Dropping her phone on the couch, she walked towards the kitchen to meet Edwin who was setting up the dining.
" Edwin, why will you do that?" Jessica said, darting her eyes as she followed Edwin who was moving from the kitchen to dining.
" Do what? Feed you? Or calling my girlfriend babe?" Edwin said smiling as he enjoyed getting an expression.
" But you know I was on a call. You should have waited," Jessica responded.
" Are you planning to hide our relationship from your friend?" Edwin said, walking towards her as he was a few steps away from her.
He kept his gaze on her, staring at her lips that were calling Edwin's attention. Before he could think anymore, he moved closer to her and she moved back. But Edwin drew her to himself and he started kissing her. After a second, Jessica started responding to his kisses.
But at the last minute, Edwin gave her a little bite on her lower lips.
"Ouch!" Jessica cried softly.
She wanted to glare at him but he didn't give her the chance as he continued kissing her immediately. After five minutes of kissing, the two stopped as they tried to catch their breath.
" This is for calling her your love," Edwin said, as he guided her to take her seat while they ate.
"Are you always like this? Jealous!" Jessica said, glaring at him.
" Yes, and stop flirting with Gary Anderson. I don't like that," Edwin said as he filled her plate with food.
He took his seat opposite her and he served himself too, he raised his face to look at Jessica who was staring at him.
"You mean because of what happened in New York City," Jessica asked looking at him.
" And at the club, I don't like it. Seeing two of you at the club made me grumpy toward you throughout the week," Edwin said, avoiding eye contact with Jessica.
Jessica couldn't believe what Edwin was saying.
" Was he in love with me that long? " she thought.
Edwin noticed she hadn't been eating her food, instead, she was staring at him and Edwin enjoyed what she was doing.
"You should eat your food, I am taking you to the hospital for a proper checkup, " Edwin said, with blinking eyes.
He knew Jessica was surprised by his statement. And he wondered why he said that to her as he continued eating his food.
The two continue to eat in silence. Jessica finished her food and even asked for more and Edwin was happy she loved it. After they finished their meal, they went back to the guest room.
Edwin prepared a bathrobe for her to shower and he dropped his t-shirt for her to wear. Edwin went to his room to have his bath too and he dressed in simple jeans and a top looking casual.
After dressing up, he went to the guest room to check on Jessica. Seeing the way his t-shirt looked on her, Edwin couldn't help but massage his temple.
If they haven't shared any intimate time this morning together, Jessica would have called him a pervert again but instead she enjoyed how he was admiring her body and she smiled to herself.
" Babe, let's go to your house to get new clothes. I don't want others seeing you in this. it's only meant for my eyes alone," Edwin said, as he waited for Jessica to walk out.
" Pervert!" Jessica murmured to herself walking out.
" What did you say? Please wait let me show you how perverted I can be, love," Edwin chuckled, as he walked towards Jessica.
Jessica started laughing as she ran through the stairs. She was feeling happy that he also loved her the way she loved him.
"Babe, don't run, I will only show you a little tip. I promise you will enjoy it, especially with that shirt on," Edwin said, running towards her.
He finally caught her and he lunged his mouth on her, kissing her without stopping. He kept kissing her as his hands roamed all over her body. Edwin just wanted to tease her but he felt himself drowning in the kiss.
After another fifteen minutes, Jessica gently pushed him away, smiling.
" Babe, you know I'm not fully okay yet," Jessica said between the kisses.
Edwin stops the kiss and looks straight into her eyes.
"You are not fully okay but you are bent on seducing me, right?" Edwin asked, biting his lower lip and his eyes were filled with lust.
"When did I seduce you?" Jessica asked, laughing.
"And you are doing it again. Dammit! I don't know how long I can hold myself," Edwin muttered to himself but Jessica heard him.
She smiled at him and he smiled back too. He held her hand gently, then they both walked to the car. He drove straight to Jessica's apartment.
