Jessica looked away from him and focused on the screen. Wasn't that a game layout? Why would he show her the company secret project?
" This is the project I want to bid for, I am not the only one trying to get this project, there are also top competitors companies, what do you think of the game layout?" He asked, cutting through her thoughts.
Seeing that she was silent, Edwin thought she was thinking about how he found out about her.
" I saw you studied computer science in school. I need the opinion of someone in the field," Edwin explained, looking at her.
After checking the interface for a few minutes, Jessica could see where they needed to make some editing to make it easier for users while using the product.
" Sir, I think you need to check here, users might mistake it for another instruction, you need to explain it properly. And here too, you can make it more simple," Jessica suggested.
" Okay," Edwin responded, checking the places she made suggestions.
He saw that if he goes with Jessica's suggestion, it would surely be easy and the users would find it easy to make use of it. He was sure that with a good presentation, the project would be successful.
He noticed that Jessica was standing and there was no extra chair in the room. He quickly moved a little so he could share the seat with her.
" Have your seat," Edwin said, pointing at the extra space.
" Am okay s_"
" We can share, let's work on it together. It's not like I am going to bite you," Edwin stated authoritatively.
Seeing she didn't have a choice, she quickly took her seat while the two worked on the project simultaneously.
After an hour of adjusting the project, they tested the product and they were happy with the result.
" I like this version of this project, thank you," Edwin said, smiling. She was truly a genius when it comes to technology.
" I am happy to help, sir," Jessica responded.
" There is a party at the hotel by 7 pm by the organizer, put on something nice," Edwin said as he shut down his laptop.
" What!" Jessica exclaimed.
" Is anything the problem? " Edwin said, standing up from his seat.
" I don't know if there will be a party, I am only here with my office dresses," Jessica said, staring with wide eyes.
"Okay," Edwin said, still concentrating on the laptop..
Jessica walked out of the room, on getting to her room, she quickly checked her bag again to see her clothes.
" Maybe I should have asked him," Jessica thought to herself.
After a few minutes of imagining how she was going to dress tonight, she sat down looking dejected. Why would it always be about clothes? Jessica can't believe that she was the one trying to look presentable.
She remembered how she got tired of putting on party clothes. But now, she has to look shabby while going out and also reject any party invitation because she doesn't have what to put on.
As she was reminiscing about her past, she heard a knock on her door. She walked to the door to open it, thinking it was her boss who was knocking.
" Sir, wh_"
She frowned when she saw two ladies at the door. Jessica stopped what she was about to say and looked at them. Were they looking for Edwin?
" Good evening ma'am. We are here to style you," One of them said.
" Style me? But I didn't request such a service," Jessica, raising her eyebrow.
"Yes, Mr. Edwin requested it," The woman answered.
Jessica allowed the women to enter, pacing up and down in the room. She wasn't expecting such a treatment from Edwin. Maybe the party was important and required her presence.
" Ma'am, can you please have your shower, we only have an hour before the party?" The other woman explained.
" Okay, " Jessica responded, nodding her head.
Jessica walked to the wardrobe to pick up her pants and bra while she walked to the bathroom. Thank God they were all women so she felt more comfortable around them.
While in the bathroom, Jessica was thinking of the reason Edwin would bring those women to style and dress her up.
"Why will he do that? I'm just a secretary," Jessica thought.
After a few minutes, she left the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body.
"Do you need me to do anything?" Jessica asked, sitting on the only spare chair opposite the dressing mirror.
"No, we are going to style your hair before dressing you up," One of them said, gushing at Jessica.
She sat down and the woman started styling her hair after which they did her makeup.
"Ma'am you have nice skin," One of the women said.
" Thank you," Jessica responded, smiling faintly.
After thirty minutes, they are done with the makeup. They proceeded to dress her up. After they dressed her up, she looked stunning. The women were gasping at her. The dress fits her perfectly.
"You are so beautiful, ma'am," they gushed out loud.
" Thank you so much," Jessica said, beaming with smiles.
She knew she was beautiful but not this gorgeous. The makeup was the perfect one for her and even the dress fits her perfectly.
They smiled at her before turning to leave. Jessica couldn't stop appreciating her new look. She was about to pick up her phone to take some pictures when the door was opened.
Jessica turned around to look at the person only to see her boss coming in. Feeling shy, she stopped taking the picture.
He chuckled when he saw her looking shy. But damn it, she was looking so beautiful.
" Let me snap you," Edwin said, looking at how she transformed with little makeup.
She gave her phone to Edwin, reluctantly. He tried to start taking the picture but he noticed the phone's camera was bad.
" Let me use my phone then I can send it to you," Edwin said, returning Jessica's phone.
He took two pictures and showed them to Jessica.
" I will forward them to you, it's time for the party," Edwin said, as he walked out of the room with Jessica by his side.
