His ascension must be related with them too.
Otherwise, it is hard for me to digest the fact that he ascended when many more much capable than him are still on rank 8.
Well, i won't think too much of him. I will for sure take my revenge from him, but not yet... he will take away his everything before killing him.
But now the more pressing matter is... Mother.
She has been acting strangely since this morning.
I expected for our relationship to change from today, that she might act more affectionately towards me, but a completely opposite scenario if unfolding before me.

I know that she knows that I am the demon king. Her acting with me like that before might also be because of that.
I still didn't want to reveal my truth to her even when she knows it. There wasn't any particular reason for that, but I just feel like waiting for a bit.
She also haven't told me her truth, yet. Maybe because of this, I am holding myself back?
I then returned to my room, mother was already inside, sitting on the bed.
She was drawing something on the paper, maybe practicing runes?
This has become the only source of power for her.
When I entered, she glanced at me once and focused back to what she was doing.
She was still mad at me.
To ease the tension, I tried to start the conversation.
"What are you doing mother?" I asked.
But no reply came from her side. She stayed focused on what she was doing.
I went near her and looked at what she was drawing. They were runes... but I think I have seen them before... not on the books that mother have provided me, but somewhere else.
It took me a while to remember them.
They were the same runes that she has drawn upon her body.
Those runes helped her to boost her physical strength to an unparalleled level.
Even when I was looking at her drawing, she still didn't utter a single word.
Then I decided to be direct with her, I changed my tone to the one of feeling sad and apologetic and asked,
"Are you mad at me, mother?"
She stayed silent for a while before putting down the pen and looking at me.
She looked firmly at me and said,
"Do you remember what I said to you yesterday? Or what you did wrong?"
Yesterday?
I felt that it will be best to stay silent now, let her answer herself.
And after a few seconds of me keeping my silence, she answered herself.
"Did you forget overstepping your boundaries yesterday? Did you forget what you did to me?" She said, her voice a bit louder.
How could I forget? It was one of the best days of my life.
But let me feign ignorance for now. How would a child know the things that happened yesterday?
"What i did? What do you mean, mother?"
Now, now, mother. What will you say now?
She frowned hearing my question.
'Is he trying to make me mad for real? How could I fall for such a pervert? But I will have to keep him in check.'
"Listen, my dear. Those kind of things... is happened only between the people who love each other. You should never do that with anyone else."
A typical thing to say to a child.
I remember getting a similar kind response when I confessed my love to a neighbour when I was little. She just thrashed my feelings away.
"But I love you, mother." I said, innocently.
A little blush appeared on her cheeks. To hide that, she coughed a few times lightly and said,
"Do you really want to continue doing that with mommy?" She asked.
Is that something you would ask with a child?
I know, we went along the flow yesterday, but as an adult, shouldn't she act more responsible?
But not that I can say anything to her, she is a son-con without a doubt, so having this kind of relationship isn't even considered bad for her.
Not that i hate it.
"Yes, mother." I nodded my head.
"If you want to continue what we did with, mommy, then you will have to listen to her every word. Don't try to do things just because you feel like it, okay? Listen to what I say and follow my lead."
She said as if she is giving me instructions on something good as if she is disciplining me.
But I get what she was trying to aim for.
I felt this inside the bathroom top, but she what to be in charge of our relationship. She wants me to do everything I say and not do anything which she is against of.
In short, she wants me to be in a submissive position while she acts as the dominant one.
This would have played nice if I wasn't who I am.
But I hate to break it for you, mother. But I can never be in a submissive position.
I never have and will never be in that position.

"Okay, mother."
I accepted and a smile immediately rose on her face.
This is what she has been hoping for, but she definitely won't be able to think how our relationship is going to reverse.
But to know how, you will have to wait for a bit.
The story hasn't progressed much, and author is put of content to stretch it longer, so he is about to do a time skip.
5 years later.
Finally I was 10 years old. The day of my awakening was coming soon.
A lot of things have happened during this time of 5 years.
And from a lot of things, I really meant a lot.
For instance, my rise in power.
Currently, I was facing a beast called the blood bear.
It was a massive size bear that was almost 10 foot. It was known for his destructive raw strength and it is one of the most powerful rank 6 beasts.
Yeah, it was a rank 6 beast and I was fighting it alone.
I neither had a mana core nor was I using any spells, just a sword and my physical strength... I was able to battle against a rank 6 beast.
It was all because of the runes that mother has drawn all over my body.
It boosts my strength, my agility, giving me advantage in any battle.
As the bear attacked me, I slashed my sword at him.
I have already been fighting it for almost an hour now and after so long time, it was wearing down.
It was still angry, cause I was trying with it, but It couldn't do anything.
I was simply too overpowered now that even if I were to face a rank 7 mage or Knight, I might be able to fight him... but I am sure that i cannot win against them yet.
But even that was going to change soon... as I am going to awaken my core tomorrow.
The day of the awakening was tomorrow, I cannot wait to see what kind of mana core i was going to awaken.
