The next day.
In the forest.
I began to train with the beasts that mother has captured for me.
She mentioned that she used a sealing rune to capture the beasts. I raised my curiosity over it and she told me that she will teach me soon.
During these years, my knowledge of the runes have increased as well, not in the level of a professional rune master yet, but now I basically understand every rune.
But just understanding them and drawing them is a different matter.
Still, I received a lot of help from the soulpetal, it has increased my ability to think faster and now I am able to learn the runes much faster.
Enough about them.
Currently, I was made to fight against a beast that mother captured. It is a rank 1 beast, these kind of beast are rare to find, comical isn't it?
The weakest beasts are hard to find, but yeah that is the truth, these weakest beasts are hunted very fast, many use them for training and they are killed so often that they are very hard to find, even rank 7 beasts could be found easily but not them.
The one standing in front of me was a rank 1 magical beasts called the scarring rat. That name was given to it because of its nature of using its nails and hunting normal animals and humans.
It was supposed be a 3 feet tall beast with sharp nails, the only thing it should be good at beside it's nails should be it's speed, but...
What the fuck is this?
That doesn't look like a normal rank 1 beast at all. It is almost same as me on terms of height and i am actually 5 feet right now.
It has sharp fangs, much sharper claws and... it seems enraged?
"Hwwwaggggg... eeekkkkkk..."
It has been producing those sounds ever since I saw it.
And why the fuck is its eyes red? It feels like it is craving violence.
"Did you do something, Eleanor? This beast doesn't seem normal at all." Ayesha expressed.
Eleanor formed a simple yet smugish smile on her face and said,
"Just normal beasts won't suffice for him, so I personally handpicked the ones with the bad temperament. Even if this beast is just rank 1, it's strength when being in its current frenzy state is comparable to a rank 2 beast."
'This is the kind of beast that I used to train with, I want you to surpass me, surpass everyone and become so strong that nobody can stand against you, my dear. And when you become the strongest... I will stay by your side, as your wife.'
Her mind was cooking the wildest dreams that I was unaware of till now and might never know at all.
My concentration was fixed on the beast in front, even if it was in a frenzy state, I can still take it out.
And just as I was about to grab my sword, mother yelled from behind me.
"Oh, i forgot to tell you this. You cannot use any weapon when fighting him."
The hell? What kind of condition is that?
But thinking about it... it doesn't actually change anything.
I dropped my weapon and opened my palms, taking the stance of grappling, I looked at the beast with the eyes of a hunter.
Don't know why but I suddenly felt rush of adrenaline in my body, maybe because I was fighting after a very long time.
I was ready for the beast to attack me, but it didn't move from its place. The survival instinct is something the monsters are born with, they know when to fight and when to stand back even if they are in a frenzy state, but if it stays like that then I won't be able to do anything.
So, what shall I do now?
What else... than engaging the fight myself.
Putting pressure on my right foot, I took a leap at the beast, seeing me coming at him, it roared, trying to intimidate me, but it's weak roar couldn't scare me who has faced the mythical dragons and even slained them.
It tried to roar again, but quickly realised that it didn't work, having no choice to even run away, the only option for its survival was to attack me.
So it did.
It beard it fangs at me and with a quest speed, attack me.
I swiftly dodged its attack and using its momentum, smashed it in a tree nearby.
In a battle, the strength of opponent matters but more then that, it is necessary to be clear headed. One doesn't always require to use all of its might if he uses his cards right.
But in this case, I don't even have to think... the outcome is pretty evident, I am superior than this rat.
It got back up and came at me again, but this time, it lunged at me with it's claws open, it directly attack my head.
After it is a beast, doesn't matter if it has survival instinct, it doesn't hold rationality.
But why am I acting like a veteran here? Am I teaching someone?
I grabbed its claws with bare hands and with a flick of my wrist, sent it flying again.
Rank 1 beast is no match for me, even if there were 10 of them.
But maybe I shouldn't have thought of that.
"Oh, how foolish of me..."
As soon as she saw me handling the beast without any issue...
"You will be facing not 1, but 10 of them."
With an evil laughter(only in my head) she released another 9 of these rats.
Storage runes were placed all over the forest by her, so beasts popped up one after another.
Within seconds, they surrounded me.
The rat that was trying to run away till now was back up and now I do not see the lingering fear on him. Instead, it was now taking the initiative to attack me.
Shit.
Now I am feeling offended by a mere beast? But I need to show him its place.
And when it lunged at me again, it grabbed it fangs with my both arms and looked at it straight in it eye.
It desperately struggled to break free, it claws scratched my skin which healed quickly after.
In just a few seconds, I could see the fear in its eyes again.
"Remember to follow your instincts properly in your next life."
Saying that, I broke its sharp jaws and split it apart in two pieces.
It's crimson blood stained me red, my hand holding the teared head of it, while it's body fell to the ground.
Seeing that scene, all of the remaining rats couldn't maintain their composure and began to run amok.
They were fast, but I was faster.
It was already prolonged for too long, so let's wrap it up quickly.
One after another, all of the remaining beasts entered the cycle of reincarnation.
After defeating them all, I returned back to where both Ayesha and Mother were.
I was soaked in their blood, but there was not a single scar on me. Not that they all healed, but beside the first one, none of them dared to attack me.
"So rank 1 beasts aren't enough, huh? Then let's proceed to rank 2 beasts." Mother exclaimed.
Huh? For real?
Even Ayesha had the same facial expressions as me.
But I couldn't say no... it wouldn't have mattered at all.
So, i faced against the rank 2 beasts, but the result was the same.
They didn't pose any threat to me.
The day ended with me defeating 20 of the rank 2 beasts and I remained unscathed.
"Well done. If he keeps improving like this, then when he awakens his mana core, who will be able to stop him?" Ayesha expressed, proudly.
I was the product of them, so they were both glad to see me improve.
I was the same too. My growth made me happy as well.
Hope, this moment lasts forever...
Wouldn't that be the ideal thought of anyone in the present situation? Mine were the same... hope this moment lasts forever, but I know it will come to end soon.
5 more years and then... I will disappear from their life as if I never existed.
Once it is revealed who I am, then they will turn back to my enemy once again. This good time will end soon.
I never thought I will say this, but I would rather they never know who I am, atleast I don't want them to know that I am the demon king, I will disappear from their life and appear as the demon king, but will never let them know that the demon is me, their son.
Or so I thought...
