It's been two days. Larissa was a wonderful person in giving us shelter in this difficult and complicated time. She's a sweetheart and now I know why my brother fell in love with her that even living without her was no longer possible, because since they started dating and my relationship with my parents wasn't so bad, he didn't stop more at home .
"Good morning, Liv." João appears in the kitchen greeting me with a kiss on the cheek.
"Good morning how are you?" I ask taking a sip of my coffee.
"I'm fine, Larissa is in the shower, she's coming. This afternoon we're going to move, anxious?"
"A lot! I'm very grateful to Lari for helping us, but I miss sleeping on top of a bed." I joke and he smiles.
During the two days here, I slept on the sofa in the living room, Larissa's house is small, but it's cozy and beautiful, João obviously sleeps with her, during the night I heard moans coming from the bedroom and I felt ashamed to imagine my brother doing stuff like that.
"Hey Good morning!" The brunette with green eyes appears with a huge smile on her face.
"Good morning! Shall we go down to eat at the bakery?" I ask watching the two kiss. "People?" I get their attention.
"Oh sure. We will, sorry Olivia, but I've never been used to buying food, I always eat out." She explains.
"No problem, I love eating out." I speak and hear my belly growl like a lion.
"Let's go before this hungry lion eats us." João jokes and then we go downstairs smiling.
When we're eating at the bakery next to the building, I hear my cell phone ring and I answer it quickly thinking it's a job offer.
"Hello."
"Hey, you disappeared Liv. What happened? Even João who called me every day stopped calling me. Where are my friends? I miss you." Eloise's soft voice reassures my heart at the same time that I feel sad that it's not a job interview.
"Hey friend. I have so much to tell you, so many things happened in two days that you can't imagine, tonight I'll stop by your house for dinner, okay?" I ask and she smiles.
"Sure, come on. God, I have to go, Julie is crying and Julian had to go out with Agnelo." She speaks and my body shivers hearing my love's name. Ex love.
"If I didn't have something important to solve, I would go over there and help you. Sorry friend... And please, tell Julian that if he knows of any company that is hiring, for him to help me, I' m desperate for a job." I ask almost crying.
"I'm sure I'll see. It's going to be all right, I need to hang up, but you're really coming, tonight okay?"
"I will, bye!" I speak smiling.
"Bye, get well." She speaks and hangs up.
Then, after having breakfast, we each went our separate ways, Larissa went to work at the city hall, and João and I packed our bags to move.
Keys in hand, my brother and I entered our new apartment with great happiness, I look around and it is very spacious, it has a large room with a wall that divides the small kitchen, there is also an annexe that apparently leads to a bathroom , next to it there is a staircase, I run up it and find myself in the middle of a corridor with three doors.
"I want the last room!" John warns.
"All good." I shrug and walk through the first door on the right. "I found my room baby." I speak so that my brother can hear.
What looks like a suite, it's big, it has a closet and a bathroom, while João takes his things to the room he chose, I go downstairs and get my bags, I'm so tired! Luckily there are some hangers here and I can arrange my clothes, as I don't have a lot of money saved, the only money I have, which I've done the bills, is just enough to help my brother buy a sofa, a TV and two double beds, one for me and one for him.
Yeah, now I'm finally independent, I'll have to manage to buy my things, feel the taste of achievement since I've always had everything kissed. I'm not complaining one bit, so far everything seems to be going well and I won't go hungry, all that matters to me is my full belly and a roof over my head, I have clothes I've never worn, shoes too, bags and so on. I can use this until I stabilize.
Two hours later we put everything in its place, luckily the apartment comes with a stove built into the counter and complete bathrooms, now we will go out to buy the missing furniture and beg them to deliver it today, if possible I will bring my bed on my back but I don't sleep on the floor today, my back is broken.
When we are in the store, João disappears with a salesperson to choose his bed and I look at some more at the front of the store, I feel my cell phone vibrate and I answer it again hopefully.
"Hello."
"Olivia." Doctor Salvatore's voice sounds deep and sensual. "I need to find you. I hear you moved out of your parents' house."
"How long isn't it?" I unconvert.
"Yes, can I come find you? Tell me, where are you living?" he inquires.
"I still don't know the address by heart. Look, I don't want to be rude, but since you already know that I don't live with my parents anymore, I have nothing to do with the crazy agreement you made . Therefore, I think We don't have anything else to talk about." I try to be as thick as possible.
"I know. However, I thought that now we could hang out as a normal couple, maybe friends? My proposal to try to win you over still stands." He insists.
"Doctor, it's not a good time, I'm going through so many difficult things, everything is very busy, I'm looking for a job and several other things..."
"I can get you a great job. In my office we are looking for a financial administrative manager. Are you qualified for that position?" I hold back my laughter, this wave came from the sky.
"I am, but can you give me the address? When do the interviews start?" I inquire interested.
"There will be no interview if you want it, the job is yours. I'm committed to that." asserts.
"I'm sorry Doctor, but I don't think it's fair. I must go through an interview first, I can't just be hired because you own it." I talk.
It's not pride, I just don't want people to think that I got a good job just because I'm a friend of the owner, or out of interest, since a few minutes ago I didn't want to meet him in person .
"Okay, if you prefer, I'll tell the head of HR to start the interviews, but if you pass, it's on your credit. I don't get involved in the employee contracts part." It reveals and I feel relieved.
"Okay, so since you got my number, I don't know who but I can imagine. Text me the address, date and time please." I talk.
"Yes, I will. Will you have lunch with me today?" He asks. My goodness, I've never seen a man this insistent.
"Today I can't..." I speak and think if I'm not being a little harsh, he'll accept just being my friend, I'm sure. "Tomorrow? I'll send you the address of a great restaurant." I hear him smile.
"Deal. See you tomorrow." He speaks and I hang up.
"Have you chosen?" John asks me approaching.
"I already have. That one over there." I show the box spring bed I chose.
I hand over to João all the money I have, now I'm at zero. But soon I will have a job. The following hours flew by, my brother and I stopped to eat some junk food on the street and then went back to the apartment, when it was six in the afternoon the delivery men arrived with the purchased furniture.
Finally, I took a cold shower, got ready and took João's car to go to Eloíse's house, remembering the invitation to dinner, actually it wasn't an invitation, I was the one who offered myself. As soon as I arrive, I knock on the door and my friend opens it smiling.
"What are you doing standing up?" I ask worriedly.
"Julian hasn't arrived yet. I'm worried he's not answering his cell." Her look is worried.
"Calm down, do you know where he went?" Indago entering the house making her sit down.
"He went to solve a problem together with Agnelo."
"Do you have his number from Agnelo?" I ask.
"I do! Wow, I didn't even think to call him." she exclaims.
"Give me the cell, I'll call." For the sake of my best friend I will have to face the voice of the devil in my life.
I pick up the phone and look for the number. The cell phone rings and no one answers. After almost ten minutes of calling, a familiar and tired voice answers.
"Hey..."
"Agnelo, is that you?" I ask strangely the voice.
"My angel voice..." Is the wretch drunk?
"Where's Julian? Eloise said he went out with you, you know very well that he's a family man now and his wife just had a baby! How can you do that? You're a denatured person who doesn't care about anything and still leading man astray?!" I exclaim irritated and indignant.
"Calm down, damn it. My car broke down here on the Westphalen bridge, entering the city. There's almost no signal here, the fucking cell phone rings and I don't see it. I just saw it now, there's already a tow truck here because Julian had to walk I don't know how many meters to be able to call one, while I watched the car." Explain.
"And while you were watching the car, did you get drunk?"
Shit what do I have to do with this?! I don't say anything else and hand the phone to Eloíse.
"Pass it to my husband, please." She asks.
The love of these two is so beautiful, the trust and affection. In two minutes on the phone she is already smiling and asking him to come soon. My friend is totally different from me.
