"I didn't really expect you to ask me to save your ass. Your sister wouldn't have minded you know. She would be the one to understand you the most with this." Stefano said.
I snorted. "Yeah, considering you're the one who sent her to jail the first time she landed here." I retorted.
I could see a faint smirk on his lips. "Seriously though, why did you call me instead? You still hate my guts."
I asked him to come and get me when the cops brought me to jail. They almost threw me in the cell but stopped when I mentioned Stefano Ranallo as my contact person. I didn't intentionally use his name to save myself but he was the only one I'd rather call. I ended up waiting for my brother in law in a room with boring grey walls.
"I do but I don't have a choice. I don't want to stress her and the baby out." I muttered a curse when I realized my slip up.
"What? Why's Avery's stress related to Luca?"
"Nothing. I said nothing." I tried to sound nonchalant but he didn't seem convinced. He was frowning.
"What is it, Keelan? I know you're hiding something." He already sounded concerned and it's making me feel guilty. Avery is going to kill me if I tell him.
"Look, I wasn't supposed to tell you this. I still don't know if it's confirmed."
"What is it?" I like to laugh at the deep frown marring his face but I can't cause I'm going to be a burnt toast later.
"Avery's pregnant." I could hear a curse slipping from his mouth. "It's still not sure though but lately she hasn't been feeling well. She only had a test on a pregnancy kit but she said she'll have her check up today- holy shit! Can you fucking slow down! Are you going to fucking kill us?" My heart literally jumped out from my chest at the current speed he was going. I could see the building passed by in a blur. I could no longer see details of the surroundings. My hands clasped the board and the base of the window.
"How can I fucking slow down when you're telling me things like that?! Fuck, she's pregnant and here I am saving your ass from jail. I should be with her." He said frantically. He's fucking obsessed with my sister, I tell you.
"You're fucking insane. Slow down, will you?! We'll be six feet under at this rate. Now Avery's going to be more than stressed out." I know I have pride too but this is just plain insane. I'm shit scared right now. It's like he's having his own race.
I sighed in relief when he finally listened to me.
"How many weeks is she?" He asked. He was slowly gaining his composure.
"I don't know. You guys should talk about it. This was supposed to be a surprise though and we ruined it. You're going to answer to her if she gets mad. She's been out of her mood lately."
"She was also like that when she was pregnant with Luca." He had a small smile when he said it. I shook my head.
"You're obsessed with my sister."
"Well I'd rather be. If I'm not, I wouldn't be where I am right now; happy and content with my life."
"I can't believe I used to hate you. Now I can't imagine my sister with someone else. In fact, I don't want anyone else for her. You make each other happy and that makes me happy as well."
It's true. I meant every word I said. Even though it feels like I hate him, it's just a show from me for him. The moment I realized how he was in love with my sister, I warmed up to him. No one can love Avery like the way he does. He literally worships her and it makes me happy that she's finally living the life she deserves.
"Getting arrested, admitting your feelings and that you don't actually hate me, you're full of surprises tonight."
"Don't mock me." I grumbled. What's annoying is that he said that in a straight face. I don't know what he actually thinks.
"You're level headed, calm, collected. The only time you got mad was when you met me. I don't know what pushed you to beat that guy until he lost his consciousness." I remained silent. I didn't want to talk about it or how I lost my composure from that asshole's tauntings.
"I'm not going to judge you, Keelan. Trust me. Avery did a lot of crazy things but I still understood her. I'm sure you have reasons why you acted that way."
"Her actions were reasonable. She helps people. I destroyed that guy's face with a petty reason."

I was jealous.
I was beyond jealous.
When Kyree introduced me to that guy, there was a sickening familiarity to him. That's when I realized he was the guy she was having a date with that day.
That day when I saw them having fun at the fair.
I saw them when Ren and I happened to pass by there. I saw her and that guy at the entrance. They both have smiles on their faces as they get inside. The next day, she cancelled her date with me. For the time I've known Kyree, the only people she was always with were Remi, Mila, their friends and her bandmates.
When I saw him again tonight, I just knew from the way he looked at her.
I went out to get some fresh air. I didn't want to stay there and feel like I was the third wheel. From the way they interacted and the conversations they have, both were obviously very close. They're probably been together for years. These thoughts inside my head don't help in what I'm feeling right now. My heart fucking hurts. I feel like I want to vomit.
Are they really together?
"Keelan, right?" His voice interrupted my thoughts.
I don't know what he wants by following me here but he clearly didn't get the memo when I went out and left them.
I scoffed. "We just got introduced and you act like you already forgot my name."
He frowned. "No need to get your panties in a twist. I was just confirming it."
"Yes, it's Keelan. Now, what do you want?" I spat, almost fed up with his bullshit. I probably knew what he wanted to do.
"What do you think? I know what you're up to."
"Oh? Like what you're up to?" I took a step towards him. He did the same. I straightened and noticed our height difference. I was a few inches taller than him. I was always taller than everyone I met. The only one who beat my height was Stefano. The guy was a fucking giant.
"Well then you should stop. I was the first one to have her. You're only wasting your time trying to get her attention."
I scoffed again. "Is that so? Maybe we should ask her what she thinks instead. You know... just in case you're making things up." I mocked him.
He scowled and glared at me. He gritted his teeth as he said these words. "She's mine. You're just a passerby in her life. You'll never have my place... and that's here." He pointed my chest.
I admit that what he said hurt. Kyree and I never confirmed our relationship and there's a chance that what we have will be just a fling. She would eventually get tired of me and move on. But this guy seems to be always there for her.
"You're saying these things because I'm a threat to you. If you're so confident of your relationship, you wouldn't be here telling me my place." I almost growled at him but I maintained my composure. My sole presence provoked him and I knew he was already threatened that I'd take away Kyree from her. Let's play mind games then.
He took a step closing our distance. Our faces inches apart. He snorted. "How can you be when I am her first? Her first everything. First kiss..." He stared at me for a long time. He looked me in the eye. And I knew then, where this was headed. "First s-"
I punched him.
I hit him good in the face. I could already see a bruise forming. He attempted to punch back but I dodged it and hit his face again. I hit him again, again and again and again. At some point, Dustin, one of Kyree's bandmates, came and tried to separate me from him but I didn't budge. I pushed him hard so he'd stay away. Deon was already lying on the ground as I hovered him. His face was all bruised and bleeding but I didn't stop.
Cause my anger didn't. I was already lost.
I felt someone pushed me so hard. I fell on the ground. I looked up and realized it was Kyree. Her eyes were wide and frantic. It was glassy. It felt like she was holding back her tears.
"What the fuck are you doing?! Are you planning to kill him?! Is this what you learn from military school?!" She screamed at me.
