The moment Biden and I walk into the police station, everybody's eyes glue onto me, watching my every move and for the first time, I hate the feeling.
This is so much different than the way I'm watched when I'm walking to the boxing ring in front of thousands, and I don't like it at all.
"Follow me." the same policeman tells us curtly as we walk up to him, and he leads me to the same room, the room that might just give me nightmares.
Thank fuck I'm not claustrophobic, or I wouldn't know how I'd handle this fucking room with no furniture except a table and three chairs, blank walls, blank everything.
"Good for you that you came back." the policeman says and I read his name tag - Daniel.
Honestly, he looks like the type of dick that takes his anger out on black dudes. And women. And well, everyone who gets in his fucking way.
I just nod in answer, Biden told me not to speak unless absolutely necessary.
"We're here. Let's begin now, shall we?" my lawyer says and the dick lifts his brow in an overly cocky way, like a true asshole.
"What's the hurry? I have all day."
"Well, we don't." Biden says and so it begins.
Daniel first repeats the mass casualties of the case, everything we already know and I'm aware it's because we're being filmed.
Then, he begins to ask me questions - seemingly innocent ones at the beginning, presenting no problem at all for Biden to answer - we've created a truly good story, I'm impressed by him.
There are no complications at all at the beginning, and we finally start to find out some details, like the fact that it was definitely my ex-gang that told on me, and they claim that I murdered all the people, not just one.
Fucking assholes.
"Ah, well, Dave was once there for a few months and he got himself involved with their leader's girlfriend. Things got slightly messy and they hate each other, which is why they probably put the blame on him."
As more time passes, I become more and more relaxed, and my back begins to hurt due to the uncomfortable fucking plastic chair.
We tell our story, and he tells his, leaving me waiting for the minute I can leave this shitty place.
Well, at least I thought so, but I should've known better considering the dick didn't stop smirking for a second.
"So, let's get it clean once more. You did absolutely nothing connecting you to the crime, right?"
"Right."
"And you didn't do anything illegal?" he looks at me.
Holy shit. I did a lot of illegal shit.
"Right." Biden answers and I gulp, but force myself to look as calm as possible.
"Well, gentleman, then I believe we have a problem." he says, and with that lays a picture on the desk in front of us.
A single picture, on which a car is seen crossing a "No pass" sign, obviously crossing the border illegally. How do I know that? Because I've driven past it at least thirty times.
I get a sick feeling in my stomach, and judging by the look on his face, there's more.
